Fandral, while contemplating what manner of creature a 'shark' is, heard a loud voice ring over the murmur of adventurers. Fandral perked his ears and attention towards the fellow in the dress.
Quote:
"Our companion, Calimund, he disappeared out of his bed last night. He has a long beard, dark robes, and gray hair—he looks like he's in his late fifties." A few people seem to be paying attention now, but not many. It's clear most of those present don't care. "If anyone sees him, please tell him Dais is looking for him—that's me—or contact me or one of my companions here at the inn. Thank you for your attention."
"Hmm" Thought Fandral to himself, as he watched the man in the dress trying to climb down from the make-shift stand, Fandral made his move.
"Hey" Fandral begins and waits for the man to get off the stage. "I'm interested in this job that you're offering." (assuming that he'll get payed with gold or assistance)

"Half-pint, come with me, if ye would. Yer kinda slinky and I have a few ideas te get our hands on the religous thing and the longbow."
"It's Koto, Koto of the Moon Clan. And I agree on finding the religious symbol, the giant who annonced the list said it had to be from "the temple of the moon." which I am curious about what is." Koto said, "And if it turned out to be one of our Moon Clan artifacts...ohh dear, I can't just hand it over to whomever, now can I. Master Gekko would skin me if I did." Koto shuddered at the thought.
"Ummm... sorry, but before he goes, can I have my third of the bar money? It's usually a good idea to have some cash on you, just in case." Rincewind Said
Koto got up the purse he had the gold in, counted the money and split it evenly into three, he gave one portion to Rincewind and another to Fandral.
"Are ye comin', laddy?" the green giant asked
"Yes I am!" Koto quickly walked up to the giant "So Mr. Green, would you mind if I asked a few questions along the way?"

Tristan is a little surprise that one of his new companions didn't know what a shark was. He had hardly seen glimpses of a living one, but he knew what one was. Maybe he'd see if he could help with the task, should he finish with getting the potion thing quick enough.
Tristan headed back out, and saw Grog speaking with some random woman. He figured he'd not interrupt them right now, and went with Broïndur to get the gold. He'd deliver Grog's share to him afterwards.
"I wonder, with those dragonflies being all snake-like, would there be eggs, would there be a bonus for the eggs?" Tristan said this more to himself than to the ones he was with, but if they were listening, they could likely hear him.

Rincewind has finally caught up with Mat.
"Hey, wait, wait! What do you think you're doing running off like that? We should stick together, you know? It's very important for my saf... I-I-I mean for our success. Anyway, the group divided into small... groups, yeah. To find the thingies quicker, you know? We're supposed to find a piece of glass from the island lighthouse and a compass. We should probably start from... what is that noise?"

"That would be the Dragonflies." Mat told the strange little man that liked the sound of his own voice. "Don't worry, the really are mostly harmless. Also, I'm nobody's flaming bodyguard. Er..." A sudden thought struck Mat at that point. "How was the gold divided?"

Dragonflies? I thought I avoided them last time!
"What? Oh, the gold... I got a little something we snatched at the inn. You deserve a share of the bounty for the dragonflies. The bearded green fellow is probably holding it for you." Rincewind said distractedly. He was much more interested in the buzzing sound, which got louder and louder. "Look, we really don't need to stay out here. Our objective is to find glass and a compass, right? Fighting dragonflies is old news, we should just go and not waste our time on them."

The small fry's name was Koto then. Broïndur had not quite figured out what kind of creature he was though. He was neither Gnome nor Fflecx, despite his stature he was still to high for either species and his skin was the wrong colour to be a Fflecx. But was not a greatly important deal.
"Yes I am!" Koto quickly walked up to Broïndur, "So Mr. Green, would you mind if I asked a few questions along the way?"
"Nay, not at all. An' ye may start by not callin' Mr Green. I'm Broïndur Beastslayer from the Clan of Bloodspillers of the tribe of Lorimbur. But Broïndur will do fer short."
They strode towards the Elemental Guild as Tristan joined them.
"Tristan, I hope fer yer sake, an' Grog's fer that matter, that ye plan te find yer potion or a spellbook in the elemental guild." Broïndur said, the wearyness clear in his voice. Broïndur had decided that wearyness would be a better reaction than hostility. "An'' it is not about ye not trustin' a Thirdling with yer coin. As fer yer question, if there were eggs, they'd be with the Queen, which we had nay time te find. And the lady here would probably like them smashed, given her love fer the beasts."
Broïndur did not wait for a reaction and stepped into the elemental guild.
"Miss Gina!" Broïndur bellowed through the halls, "I have a few critters here, I'd like ye te take a look at."

Broïndur, Koto, and Tristan:
Gina emerges after a moment. "What is—oh, I see you had a successful hunt," she states, warming immediately. She gestures for an assistant to take the bodies away and gives Broïndur the promised gold—850 pieces in all. "Be sure to come back if you kill any more; I expect the population will experience a sharp drop over the course of this contest regardless, but I'm quite willing to pay to ensure it."

"The Clan of bloodspillers?" Koto blinked "There exist other clans other than the four in Taytarnia? appearently they did, and this Broïndur was part of one. Koto could not help but wonder what powers he had control over, but he did not spend to long wondering as he had his questions "Master Broïndur, I was wondering, what manner of creature are you?" Koto asked in the most polite tone he could. At that point the giant Koto came to know as "Tristan" joined them. The two giants exchanged a few words before the trio entered the elemental guild.
"Miss Gina", a female giant, appeared and started speaking with Broïndur, who handed her a large batch of serpent like things with wings, the so-called "Dragonflies", and in return he received a rather large sack of coins.
"Be sure to come back if you kill any more; I expect the population will experience a sharp drop over the course of this contest regardless, but I'm quite willing to pay to ensure it." Miss Gina said, and Koto remembered something Tristan had wondered about earlier. "If we find their eggs what do you want us to do with them?"

"Master Broïndur, I was wondering, what manner of creature are you?" Koto had asked just before they entered the Elemental Guild.
While Gina and her assistant dealt with the Dragonflies, Broïndur had a moment to answer the question.
"I be an Orc, laddy, Vraccas curse them. But I be a Dwarf by birth. I dinnea know how I became an Orc overnight, nor how I ended up here. But then again, I doubt ye know how ye became a gnome", Broïndur reconned that to call Koto a Gnome was the closest correct thing untill they found out what he actually was,"or how ye were swept away from yer home either."
Broïndur clammed up when Gina came with his coin, there was no reason for her to know of such things for the time being.

"Knome? KNOME?! Did I hear him right, did he just call me a KNOME?!" Koto opened his mouth to protest, but he closed it when reality dawned upon him. He truly had no idea how he had gone to sleep in the undercity yesterday, yet woken up in the sea today. And from what Broïndur had said, he'd experienced something similar. Likewise, Rincewind had insisted that he was no Giant, but rather a normal human, saying that it was Koto who was short! "But still! I cannot be a Knome!" Koto brought his hands up to stare at them. Looking at them, he could see that the skin complexion was much darker than his own, but they were not green. "See Koto, you're not a knome, and you are probably just imagining your hands looking different! In worst case they have just been under the sun to long! After all, there exist no magic in all of existence that can swap your body with that of another!" Koto smiled to himself and looked around in the room. From what he could see there were little furniture to speak of here, only a low section made of stone and four pedestals set to be the center of attention. But Koto paid no heed to either of those, as he had found that which he sought. On a wall between two doors hung a mirror, with that he could kill the doubt that grew in his mind completely. Koto ran over to the mirror, taking care not to look at it. Once in place, he closed his eyes and moved his head to face the mirror. He suddenly noticed that he was holding his breath, and he let go. He took a deep breath, then another, and a third. "Stop being silly Koto! It's just a mirror! Open your eyes and get it over with! On three; One, two-" Koto opened his eyes- and screamed!

Group in the Elemental Guild:
"But before ye leave, I have a question te ask ye. As does my friend, but that is a different question. How might one recognise an item of religious or ceremonial importance of the Moon Cult. See, where I'm from, there is nay Moon Cult. So I would nay know what they're about."
"The Temple of the Moon was everywhere, where exactly are you from?...Never mind, I don't care.
Anything of any significance from the Temple of the Moon will unsurprisingly have a crescent moon emblem on it somewhere. They were—and I suppose still are—religious fanatics, and of course stick their symbols over everything they use. Most likely it will look expensive. Probably made of silver. If it's cloth, it will be predominately blue, and if it survived this long, it is probably magic." Gina actually frowns and looks concerned as something occurs to her. "It may or may not be imbued with Dark magic, so I advise against actually using anything you may find unless you want to be accused of necromancy."
"If we find their eggs what do you want us to do with them?"
"Whatever you like. The vermins' spawn are none of my concern."
"And we are new here. Where would one find a cure wounds potion, or an extra spell tome?"
"Try the alchemist on the other side of town for potions, if they haven't been cleaned out already. We sell tomes of magic here, but only to Guild members." Gina looks you over for a moment, the slant to her gaze suggestive of someone measuring out poison. "Though...you've proven yourselves to be more competent than you look." Businesslike, she continues, "I'll make you a deal: bring me the corpse of the Queen of the local Hive as we discussed earlier, and I'll include membership in the Guild for yourselves and your friends on top of the reward."
At this point Koto begins screaming, distracting the Guildwoman. "What's the matter with him?" Gina asks, sound rather more annoyed than concerned.

Mat and Rincewind:
About this time, a trio of the Dragonflies come buzzing out of the swamps. Two are a bright green, but the largest has a yellow-golden tinge to its scales.

"What's the matter with him?"
Koto stopped screaming and turned towards Gina "Everything!" He shouted, despair filling his eyes "My body! SOMEBODY STOLE MY BODY! AND LEFT ME IN HIS!" He ran over to Gina grabbed her knees and started shaking "DON'T YOU SEE! I AM SHORT AS A KNOME! MY HAIR IS BROWN, MY EYES GREEN AND MY POWERS! MY POWERS ARE GONE!" Koto let go of her knees and breathed heavily. After a while he spoke, now in a low more vengeful tone "if this is another one of old grey's tricks then I'm going to find a way to bring him back to life so I can kill him again!" and as if summoned, a voice in the back of his mind whispered in spite "I have nothing to do with this, boy!" surprisingly, hearing the spiteful voice of the demon from the shadow world brought a smile to Koto's lips, at least some part of him had remained the same.

Broïndur looked slightly embarrased to Gina for Koto's outburst.
"My appologies for me friend's outburst. We'll both leave now. Thank ye fer yer time an' infermation."
Broïndur plucked Koto off the ground and lifted him over his shoulder like a small child despite Koto's struggling. They left the building.
Outside, Broïndur went somewhere more private and put the Gnome-like thing down.
"Don't ever make such a spectacle in public." Broïndur bit Koto, "The people might think we be mad. Especially in front o' someone whose help and money we need te rely upon. I know ye be shocked by yer new state o' body, I was meself. But we need to keep our head tegether if we ever want to get home and our old bodies back. Hopefully that other man would actually be brave enough to do something, because Mat really didn't think that getting bitten again would feel terribly good.
