Mat and Rincewind:
Mat pulls 7 gold pieces out of the guts of the beasts, as well as the three heads.
((At the lighthouse: ))
Thankfully the both of you make it the rest of the way without running into more Dragonflies, though there are a few close calls ((unless you choose to engage, in which case let me know)).
There is a powerful buzzing sound to the southeast of you, which drowns out the meaning of the voices the pair of you can hear inside—apparently at least one group beat you here.

Broïndur and Koto:
...a place that has obviously been abandoned for a long time. Until recently, at least, judging by the boot prints headed in. (And they are all almost exclusively headed in.) The walls are cobwebbed, dirt-smeared and water-stained, and the broken tiles that make up the floor here are covered with so much debris and dirt that in places, it looks like a natural floor. Where the tiles are clear, the faint shape of a crescent moon is visible.
A few crumpled forms Koto eventually identifies as bat corpses also litter the ground, and good sized lumps are gathered around them, moving slightly. As he watches, he realizes the lumps are rats. ((7 in all.))

Tristan (and anyone else who goes with him):
You find your way to the alchemist's shop, an oddly-shaped building whose structure is reminiscent of a bottle. Pressing inside, you find the interior to be dim and smelling of herbs—and rather louder and more crowded than you expected, as a good half-dozen people (all adventurers, by the look of them) are gathered in a knot around a woman in a stained apron. The former all seem to be very upset, with the woman trying (in an increasingly loud voice) to calm them.

Rincewind tried to listen to the voices and being unsuccessful in understanding any of it turned to Mat.
"There seem to be people inside. Maybe we should... wait here until they leave? I mean, we only need some glass, there ought to be plenty of it for everyone, right? Oh, I know! We could scour around the lighthouse in the meantime, maybe some glass has fallen down."

One of the adventurers responds, expression stormy, "This ***** claims she's out of Cure Wounds potions!"
"That was out of order!" one of the others exclaims, shocked.
"You're out of order you misbegotten piece of Kreegan ****—"
"Why you—"
"—I come here looking for one simple thing and the ***** doesn't—"
The round of insults and swearing increases in volume; a glance out the door shows you that people outside are starting to notice.

Being out of the potions was not something Tristan wanted to hear from the group. And what was a Kreegan? He couldn't think of any word close enough to possibly fit the meaning, so he just left it.
"Now, is this that dignified and respectable manner that was mentioned we should act in? No. If the woman says she is out of cure wound potions, then she is likely out of said potions. Causing a fuss here will not bring back her stock. So, it is best that we find the thing elsewhere then."

Mat actually considered it for a second, but then he thought that this was just Wincewind being paranoid. "Well, I won't force you to come in with me... but I'm going to go into the bloody tower. There is a much better chance of finding what we need inside, but by all means check out here on the off chance that something fell outside." Mat began to walk towards the tower doorway, "Watch out for dragonflies."

The shouting stops, but by the grumbling of the more obviously troublesome of the six you can tell they aren't really appeased, and the darting looks they throw around promise more trouble in a moment.

You approach the lighthouse entrance, but when you try to open it the door barely comes ajar. Closer examination through the resulting crack shows you a great pile of junk stacked in front of it ((and really close examination reveals fingerprints in the dust on it, indicating it was placed there deliberately)).
You just have time to note the voices have stopped before an arrow thuds into the ground a pace or so from your feet. A helmeted head—obviously some of your competition in the contest—pokes out of the lighthouse window above you and its owner shouts down:
"Stay away from there! Nobody comes in until the contest is over!"

Mat cupped his hands over his mouth and shouted back, "Well that isn't very bloody sporting of you, is it?" He kicked the arrow as well, "And didn't he say in the rules that you aren't allowed to hurt your fellow competitors?"

"We're not the first people here." Koto stated "Many other footprints are leading into the darkness. They killed a few bats who are now being eaten by the rats." Koto looked back to Broïndur "Do you have good dark vision? Or do we need to get a torch for you to move on?" Koto hoped Broïndur had good dark vision, cause quiet frankly he hated having to ruin his own darkvision with light.

"Nay, I'll manage." Broïndur replied. His dark-vission wasn't as good as it was when he was still a Dwarf, but it was still good enough.
"From the looks 'o it, there won't be much to cause a rumpus with or about though. This place has been plundered but good. We may even have te fight someone fer one of the Mooncult items. Nay a problem in my book. Let's see if they've left somethin' fer us."
Broïndur said as he tried to open the door leading inward.

"Don't you get it? No one's winning this contest but us if we have anything to say about it, and as a matter of fact, we do!" Another arrow thuds into the ground by Rincewind's feet. "Get a move on, you got it? Go away!"

Koto and Broïndur:
Broïndur opens the door—already ajar, and mostly broken off its hinges anyway, it scrapes loudly against the tile. Then both of you hear the flutter of wings and multiple loud cheeping noises; a decent sized flock of bats ((8 total)) come flying out of the stairway beyond. Past them you can dimly make out a thin landing that branches out to the left and right.

One of the less violently-inclined of the six seems to see your point, as he nudges one of the others. The latter shrugs and they both make their way out. But the loudest of the bunch remaining just bristles.
"What law? This Ancients-forsaken little rock doesn't even have stocks—what are they going to do, throw me in the well?"

Mat looked at Rincewind and winked mischievously. These men didn't seem to be the brightest bulbs in the bunch, all they really had going for them was their bloody bow. Mat wished he had his, even with one eye he could show them a thing or two... but right now, something else needed to happen.
"Alright, fine! Were going." He told them casually and Mat actually started walking away. Though once he reached the tree line, Mat sharply turned around and shouted up, "You know, the sad thing about being trapped in that tall tower is, you can't flaming see anything once I get past these trees, so I can set up all kinds of snares and traps for you. Oh, and you were dumb enough to barricade the door, so when I go back to inform the judge of this, for which I think you will automatically be disqualified, you'll still be stuck in there. Wouldn't you say so Rincewind?" Mat asked his companion off-handedly.

Rincewind who gladly followed his companion away from the tower had finally caught on. He smiled, now this was a plan he could get behind.
"Oh certainly." Rincewind remember the commotion at the inn and decided to bluff, "You know, I think I heard that voice before. HEY! Weren't you one of the guys in the tavern today? I wonder what will those well armed guards will do when they find out you're breaking rules again."

"Hrrmh," Broïndur grunted, "I'm gettin' the feelin' we're walking into an ambush."
So, he took his battleaxe and shield in hand. Strangely he noticed the feeling of the quartz-inlaid copper ring.
At the same time, Broïndur felt anxious yet ready for a fight.
"I'm trusin' my gut here. I think ye should loosen whatever weaponry yer carryin' on ye." Broïndur nearly whispered as he neared the landing.
