"You get the right one,"
"Great, now I have to fight huge spiders. And without my shadow powers. And as usual Moto is nowhere to be found when I need something bashed!" Koto thought to himself as he started circling the spider, hoping to flank it. Luckily enough the spider seemed to be more concentrated on the much more loud, and obviously dangerous Broïndur than the silence and small Koto, most likely due to Broïndur's aggressive behaviour towards the other spider. With a speed Koto never would have figured his small body would have, he jumped up on a crate and from it took a leap towards the spiders back.
Two splishes were heard as both daggers sank into spider flesh, and the world begun spinning at a wild rate. Koto tightened his grip on the dagger to avoid being thrown off as the spider begun its crazed dance. His hands hurting and his stomach turning, Koto realized there was only one way to stop this spinning wagon. With his eyes closed to avoid getting dizzy from his blurred vision, Koto raised his right dagger and jabbed it into the spider.
Splish, splish, splish, splish, over and over again he stabbed, until Koto suddenly realize that he could no longer hear the swooshing of the air around his ear. Slowely opening his eyes, Koto found that the world had once again stopped.
"Ye get the other one?"
Koto nodded "Yeah I did...appearently." With a satisfactory smile, Koto stood up and jumped off the spiders back, which only resulted in him emptying his breakfeast.

Fandral:
((You can read the default language of the realm so long as your character can read, period. So unless Fandral is illiterate)
In the pouch you find a handful of twisted blue roots ((4)), two dry and grayish mushrooms, one bunch of reddish berries, and some yellowish pods ((3)). There's also a scrap with scribbled writing on one side:
pod + widow = Cr. Ds
widow + phir = Cr. Psn
You find you can read the book, though it's slow going—the handwriting is cramped in places, and the subject matter is dry. Add to that the fact that you have no real context to place it in, and very little information stays with you. Despite this the name "Gryphonheart" seems to be important (mostly because it appears several times), as well as the words "AvLee" "Erathia" "elves"...you also spy a mention of griffins before coming to a couple pages that are sticking together.
Investigating, it seems some kind of liquid spilled between them. Recently, as it hasn't completely dried yet.
----------------
Bowie/Grog:
Keska looks hesitant for a moment before replying. "I do not mind."
((Assuming you go after him, you spot Fandral coming back out of the inn, and catch up to him as he's leafing through the book.))

"Yeah I did...appearently." Koto said before he threw up.
Broïndur meanwhile stalked over to the corner of the room where he had thrown the chest, axe in one hand. He would strike at the spider beneath the chest for good measure, as soon as he lifted it up. Though Broïndur suspected it not to be necesary.
Which he did. As soon as he lifted the chest, the axe followed into the twitching chitinous heap that lay beneath it.
Carrying the chest under one arm, Broïndur wiped his axe on a rag in one of the nearby containers and hung it from his belt. Then grabbed the lantern and headed out.
"When ye're done spewing, see if there's any keys around fer this here chest. If there's anythin' here it's in the chest and I don't want te wade around in yer spew fer it. Or if ye ken pick locks, don't bother looking fer the keys and follow me out." Broïndur said to Koto, being glad to get further away from the acrid puke-smell.

"Well, I do not know about him. I was just defending myself. I went to go get one of those potions listed on the hunt. Apparently, the woman there was out of them, and everyone was in such a foul mood about it. I tried to talk everyone out of causing a ruckus, which I succeeded in, outside of that man there," Tristan says, pointing to Jason. "He seemed to want to start a fight no matter what. I called for someone to get the guard, which I noticed someone went off to do, but I still had to deal with him attacking me while such a task was performed."

Supporting himself on a nearby crate, Koto wished the dizziness would pass.
"When ye're done spewing, see if there's any keys around fer this here chest. If there's anythin' here it's in the chest and I don't want te wade around in yer spew fer it. Or if ye ken pick locks, don't bother looking fer the keys and follow me out."
Koto just nodded to Broïndur not even bothering to tell him that he wanted to see what was in the hole the spiders had come from. Once Koto had regained enough balance that he felt he could move without falling over, Koto wobbled over towards the hole and peered in.
"A good thief goes in, gets what he is after and gets out. A master thief goes in, get what he is after and everything else of value, and then gets out without being noticed!" Master Gekko's teaching echoed in his mind.

Tristan:
The lieutenant nods.
"Fortunately there are several witnesses to back your claim. But in the future, try to keep it to fisticuffs. Normal brawling will get you a slap on the wrist compared to armed assault. You get a reasonable amount of leeway for defending yourself, but accidents still happen and they are much more serious with real weapons...and we have to be very strict here with so many people armed in such a small settlement. Failing that, try to keep yourself conscious so you can answer questions instead of having the friends of your...friend...spin tales about you while you're out."
This last is said very meaningfully and you get the feeling he's giving you a hint. But more importantly he pulls out a set of keys and unlocks the door, letting you out of your cell.
"Luckily no one was killed and there are enough eyewitnesses for me to let you out this time, but I have to warn you not to get into trouble again while you're here. Other than that you're free to go; take this to the blacksmith when you have time." He hands you a roll of paper and escorts you to the stairs, where you meet up with another guard. Your belongings are returned and you are escorted off the ship—that is, the yacht. Now that you're above deck, you can tell it's still daylight.
Waiting for you at the dock is the alchemist. She waits for your guards to depart before speaking:
"That was very brave and I wanted you to know I appreciate what you tried to do." She pulls a small glass vial from her apron and hands it to you. "I meant it when I said I didn't have any Cure Wounds potions but if you find the ingredients, come to me and I'll mix one up for you. Or anything else you need for the rest of the contest, just bring me the ingredients."
She gives you a quick kiss on the cheek before making her escape back into town.
----------------
Koto:
Peering into the darkness, at first all you make out is a smallish cave filled with spider webs. But after a moment, you can tell there used to be rats in here before the spiders got them: there are bones and dried bits of rat fur on the floor, and one carcass cocooned up in the webs. The rats' abandoned nest is in a corner against the wall, and in it you can make out bits of straw, twigs, feathers, a handful of brightly colored beads, a short length of chain—perhaps part of a bracelet at one point—a few coins ((4)), and probably the most valuable of the lot, a silver ring with a blue stone in it.

Rincewind murmured something under his breath, but took the dagger and started chipping away the mortar. What he needed was not all this manual labor. What he needed was a good bath and a soft bed. Although in his life he learned to content himself with just a bit of peace and quiet and a place to rest his head.

Apparently, he was reading some sort of a book and he didn't really notice Grog.
"Hey!", yelled Grog as he stepped in front of Fandral.

Mat and Rincewind:
Twice during your slow, hacking ascent, you hear Dragonflies buzzing outside. Shortly before sundown ((and a mere arms-length from the grate that makes up the third floor)) you hear a party of people approaching...no one you recognize.

"Oh great, more treasure hunters.", Rincewind said sarcastically.
Then he had a familiar feeling. The feeling that's been following him most of his life. The feeling that things are about to get a lot worse. He looked at the dead man on the floor, then at the door from which came the voices.
"Mat... we should get up there. Now."

Rincewind returned Mat his knife and climbed on his back. It wasn't easy climbing on a man's body dangling in the air, but fear always was Rincewind's greatest engine and finally his nimble new body managed to get itself onto Mat's shoulders and then onto the third floor. He leaned down and extended his hand to his companion.

Tristan smiled in thanks to the woman. He might have to find one of those ingredients. Maybe she would allow him to watch her make the potion, so he could do the same. Though, first thing he should do now is get to the blacksmith he was instructed to go see. He puts the potion bottle away, gets the roll of paper in hand, and heads to the blacksmith. Hopefully he won't hold a grudge for Tristan being half the cause of chaos in his shop.

Glad that the hole did not run deeper, Koto grabbed what he saw and headed out to Broïndur.
"No key, but I am adept at picking locks. Let me just see if I still have my lockpicks." Koto said as he started rummaging through his pockets. After a shortwhile Koto found a lockpick set, it was not he own set, and there were some tools that he did not recognise on it, but it was a set nonetheless and it was better than nothing. With a slight smile, Koto went to work on the chests lock.

Koto and Broïndur:
Koto sets to work. It takes longer than expected, as there's an odd catch of some sort that doesn't seem typical for a lock like this...
Upon opening it he finds out why, and Koto realizes that could have gone very badly: there's a dart trap built into the top of the chest, its tip coated with something dark brown that looks sticky. Luckily the trigger—a piece of string—was not made with the same quality as the box itself, and rotted away, leaving the dart embedded in the inside of the box instead of a would-be opener.
But Broïndur finds his instincts were correct not to break the thing open: much of its contents consists of bottles of brightly colored potion and a pair of old scrolls, which would have been ruined if he'd smashed it.

127 gold pieces
Potions: 1 Green, 1 Purple, 1 Blue and 1 Layered (Orange and Yellow)
