The rougish man asked, smirking slightly. "Well, we might not have to steal one. And I'll give Rincey three guesses where it might be." By the end of the night, that boat wreck would be plundered one way or the other.

"What are you on about...", it was Rincewind'd eyes turn to widen. "Oh no. No, no, no. Listen that place is a wreck! I doubt anything as delicate as a compass survived the crash. Besides, it's a shipwreck. It must be haunted by the ghosts of dead sailors. It's like... tradition or something. We shouldn't disturb them. I'm sure we can find a decent compass without meddling with the dead."

Fandral listened to the old man, anxiously at first, trying to absorb as much as he can, however after a short-while he began to get dreadfully bored and later, somewhat tired. As soon as the thought of sleep touched Fandral's mind he turned to see dusk setting in.
He sighed to himself.
"Well thanks for the information you old-man" While hauling the net off his lap.
"Say, you wouldn't happen to know anyone who has experience hunting sharks" (they're bound to have a trophies of their kill, one that Fandral might buy or pilfer)

"Most o' the younger fishers 'round 'ere go fer shark—like to think it makes 'em tough," the old man scoffs at this idea. "But that lad Borin—Waveeater 'tis what he calls 'imself—he been on a streak for tha' las' few weeks. Hauled hisself up a nice 'un the other day near twice as long as he was for—well, for food." The old man abruptly quiets and shifts in his seat. "I been keepin' ye a long time, I best let ye be goin'. Thenkee for fixing m'net an' lisnin' to an ol' man yammer. 'Tis very kind of ye."
((Afterwards: ))
You make your way through town, noting the groups of adventurers the others have seen. You also see some activity among the larger boats on your way to the smithy, but closer scrutiny reveals it to be just sailors packing and unpacking cargo, nothing of note. The inn is also doing very good business as people come in for food or rooms.
After a little searching around you locate you fellows from the ship, right where they planned to be. Most of them are already here, although there isn't any sign of Grog.

Have no fear, come dawn (or during the night) I'll get us that tooth" (seeing how I have only the little money that I was given, I will likely resort to pilfering it)

"Right so summin' all progress up. We've a shard of glass, we know the probable locations of the Item of the Mooncult, the Compass and the Sharktooth and we're lacking a few ingredients te make our own potion. On the other hand, we've no idea where te either find a tome o' spells, unless Tristan is willin' te part with his, nor do we know where te find an Elven Longbow. Also we're missin' one member of our group and one is trapped in the temple ruins who we'll have te spring sooner or later."
Broïndur looked round at the members of their group.
"I'm not sure if I should be dissappointed or relieved at the progress we're makin'. Any suggestions?"
Broïndur looked round again, expecting others to speak up.

"We do know where to find a spell tome. That guild master woman, Gina, mentioned that guild sells them. We just have to be a member. To become a member, we need to deal with that queen, and bring Gina the corpse. I am not sure how much one of those tomes cost, but if they are too expensive for us at the time, I will offer over one of mine."

Which leaves Tristan and Rinsewind, ye best go lookin' fer an Elf that's willin' te part with his bow, I'm fairly sure I've seen one or two wander 'round or some other way te get yer hands on one. If that fails, take one. The competition is cutthroat and we ain't gonna win if we go pussyfootin' around. And while yer at it, look round fer Grog, he's got part of our money. An' if he's been wasting his time, tell him he ken expect a beatin' come the morrow. After we're done, get yerself some rest, come the dawn we're bustin' Koto out of the temple and kill that queen."

Rincewind saw an opportunity to take the easy road again and responded quickly.
"Fine, fine. Have it your way. Tell you what, when we're done with the elf stuff, we're gonna get rooms for all of us at the inn so you won't have to deal with the owner in the middle of the night. We'll meet up in the morning and continue from there."
When all was settled, he turned to Tristan.
"Alright let's get this over with quickly so we can get some sleep. You've been around town the whole day, any idea where we can get that bow?"

It was a hard day in a new, unfamiliar world which only connection to Rincewind's home was that it was just as hostile and dangerous. The former wizard was in no mood to be threatened by his companions and finally his frustration overcame his cowardice.
"Oh is that right, mister big green?! Well, from where I'm standing, me and the one-eye are the only ones who got us any objects so far! So why don't you just go and do something useful and let me worry about my part?"

Broïndur turned around and with a quick legsweep floored Rincewind. Then set his foot on his chest.
"I have plundered a temple, I've a chest of loot te show fer it and I am fairly sure I've made more than double the coin ye have. Yer not in the mood, Neither am I. Be usefull and I ken be the best friend ye have in this world. But I kennay stand time being wasted. So don't do it."
With that, Broïndur took his foot of the Humans chest and walked off

Tristan walks over to Rincewind, offering him a hand up.
"Well, that sure fits what I would expect from a stereotypical version of him. Mostly, anyway."
Tristan turns to face the smithy, now trying to recall if he had seen any bows there earlier.
"I can not remember seeing any special bows at the blacksmith while I was running through it earlier, or even when I was glancing through it for items later. Even if it did have any, I am sure that there would not be any now. Though,..."
Tristan glances over to the docks.
"The ship that rescued us looked like it had what I would expect elves to look like upon it. They may have the appropriate bows on there, with them. If not, they may have a better idea of what we are looking for."
