Mat:
You manage to wriggle your way out of the ship. You can still hear bones clanking inside, but for whatever reason the skeletons don't seem to be following you. It's dark, as the lantern is still inside the ship.

Mat panted and felt around for his staff weapon, eventually finding it among the sand. Hopefully Broindur would still be alive if he could convince the others to come back with him and stage a rescue... but the odds were likely going to be rather low. How did people react to super natural phenomena here? he could try telling the guards... er... if he could find his way back, that is... Well, it was a coastal town, and he knew the general direction it would be in, so as long as Mat followed along the coast he should be fine. He would slink away first, though. No point in drawing attention to himself after escaping the way he had.
And with that plan in mind, Mat crouched down and walked to the edge of the forest, following that to his destination once his eyes had adjusted.

You make it back to town. As you arrive you notice the smell of smoke in the air and some sort of commotion down by the docks.

((I was assuming that, what with the whole almost-full-body bruising and walking unassisted back to town after a long, hard day.  ))
Mat decided that in his current state, heck in any state, fire that was burning without him seeing how it had been lit was just bad news and deserved to have a wide berth. So instead, he walked away from the docks, leaning heavily on his bladed staff as he looked around for a guard.

"Well, excuse me!" He replied, stuffing back the silk, "I tried to be subtle, but you just to laugh at me! What you thought that I couldn't do it?! Thought that I was just pulling your leg, did you? That I'm a failure?! Well, I got what you want, so if you want to have I suggest we get this thing over with so I can finally get some sleep!"

Your outburst, unfortunately, draws some unwanted attention from the Duke of Glory. Lord Markham's tirade on useless peasants and clumsy, inattentive sailors breaks off and his head appears over the edge of the yacht.
"And what are you going on about?!" You hear a less-audible mutter of "filthy mangy buffoons everywhere" trailing afterwards.

This did not look good, but Rincewind was too wound up to stop. Besides, this was the first time he could really complain ever since he ended up in this weird world. He was enjoying it as long as he could.
"I'm talking about that cheap, lying, dark-skinned basterd leaving me here! He took me aboard in the last port and promised me a high position on his vessel if I was good enough. I worked harder than any of his pointy-eared sailors and now he just leaves me on this Gods forsaken island with no means of returning home! Must have figured out that I did my job too good for him and now he's trying to get rid of me so he won't have to pay! Well, I'm sick of this! I'm sick of being in unknown lands, without anyone to stand by me and without any hope of returning home in one piece! I'm sick and tired of it all, you hear!"

As for the fire:
Fandral also joins in with trying to put out the fire, mostly by allocating bystanders to join the line, while staying a good distance back, and well out of the fumes. (he didn't want to get smoke in his hair)
After a short-while there was some measure of cheering and shouts of joy/accomplishment, Fandral felt smug and went among the crowd to find his new companion.
While on the search for Belaver his ears perked at the sound of 'squealing'.

You locate Rincewind with little difficulty, as he appears to be engaging in a shouting match with the captain of the ship that pulled you and your body-swapped companions out of the ocean. Lord Markham had been shouting earlier over the state of his yacht, but he appears to be distracted for the moment.

Rincewind and Fandral (and Belaver when Alkar gets around to posting):
"I wouldn't be bragging if I were you," Captain Suntamer retorts in a clear, carrying voice, playing along. "You're the first so-called sailor I've ever met who managed to sink a ship under clear skies on calm seas! No one in their right mind would give you a berth as so much as a deck-scrubber, now get away from my ship or I'll have you thrown off this dock!"
If nothing else this exchange appears to have distracted Lord Markham.

I overhear the shouting going on, and, now that I am not concerned about a fire, walk over to see what is going on. I see the man I talked with earlier in the area, and a couple others. Maybe they are his friends? Maybe not. I wait back a ways, not wanting to get involved.

"Oh no, not yet!" The feel of the magic silk made all of Rincewind's instincts scream out and he was going to get rid of it now. "You know I got my belongings and wages on your little boat! Your stinking sailors may have thrown me off the deck once, but now that they're not here, I'm getting my stuff. And don't you worry, you'll never see me again after that!"
Rincewind determinately walks up the plank to the trader's vessel.

You make your way into the captain's cabin on the Turquoise Bay, the captain himself joining you shortly along with one of the remaining crewmembers at Suntamer's gesture. The latter takes up a guarding position by the door.
The room is well-furnished by ship standards but not opulent, and the furniture consists of a table with a map, a small writing desk, a lantern, and a chest against one wall. There's a door in the back wall, but it's closed. Captain Suntamer places himself across the table from you.
"I admit you have a little more sense than I gave you credit for, but not much." The captain frowns at you. "You realize that now everyone on the island knows you were here when the ship caught fire? Even I saw you running to and fro on deck, and anyone who didn't notice you then will certainly have made note of you now."

Fandral and Belaver:
You can see the very loud man in black leather traipse aboard another ship in port, trailed by a Dark Elven man—Fandral of course recognizes Rincewind, the Turquoise Bay, and her captain.

Fandral goes into stealth mode, (though not much use in the commotion) and tries to get as close to his companion as he can, possibly 'snagging' him while there's a chance.

"Yeah, yeah, me and anyone else who happened to be on the docks," Rincewind retorted irritably, "and as far as anyone knows, I'm just one of your sailors. Most of them were on that ship when it caught fire too, there's nothing suspicious about that. Now if you'll excuse me, I've had a very long and stressful day and I just want to make the exchange and get some sleep."

As Rincewind is already halfway up the plank by the time you grab for him, your attempt to snag him fails.

"I'll be more than happy to oblige," Captain Suntamer replies curtly. "Let me see what you retrieved."
He takes the silk and examines it; in the lantern light you can see that it's dark in color and embroidered with silver thread.
"Yes, this will do nicely." The captain folds it back up and slips it under an arm. "Very well, you've earned your payment." He goes over to the chest and, opening it, retrieves a longbow. Even without having an extensive grasp of the local bowyer styles, you can tell it is a different make from what the people hereabouts are using—and much higher quality than most, too.
"Of course, now we have to keep up appearances." He nods to the door guard. "Throw him off my ship."

"I had a feeling you'd say that," Rincewind sighed in reply, "could you at least wrap that bow in a big piece of cloth for me first? I wouldn't want to be mugged on my way to the inn as well."

Those still remaining in the vicinity witness Rincewind being thrown violently back onto the dock, a bundle wrapped in sailcloth tossed after him. "And stay off!" The Dark Elf captain bellows. Lord Markham appears to have lost interest in the spectacle, as he's gone back to berating his crew on letting the ship catch fire—though at a slightly lower volume than before.

"Bloody pointy-eared, dark-skinned, plan-scheming, know-it-all," murmured Rincewind under his breath. He stood up, dusted himself off and picked up the package. "At least I got what I wanted... what that green hulk wanted. Now I can finally get a bit of sleep."
Rincewind adjusted the wrapped bow under his arm and went off in the direction of the inn. Tristan was still nowhere in sight, but at the moment Rincewind couldn't care less.
