The giant crumpled onto it's right knee as Morn thrust his spear into its lower abdomen and Thorald hacked at its weapon arm. The giant screamed in agony, flailing his free arm about, as a tear ran down his old worn face. By then Drystan and the Stormcloaks had stopped firing arrows, afraid to hit one of their own.

Yu pulled out his blade and sighed. Such a pity to kill an ancient... but the damage was done. Killing him now would be the peaceful way to end things, instead of letting its wounds fester and consume him. If only one of his people's interpreters had been here... but this was an adventure, not an expedition. Adventures were for glory. And who could claim that they had slain a giant?
Pointing his blade at the giant's back, Yu charged, ramming the blade between two ribs with enough force to drive it halfway down the edge. He released its hilt after and kicked the shaft to drive it the rest of the way in. He did not seem to be pleased by what he had done, though his snarl might be misinterpreted as something else.

Thorald and Morn thrust their weapons into the giant as well, ending its life. It collapsed onto the ground, its blood pooling on the bridge's ancient stones. Thorald drew his sword, wiped it clean on the giant's rags, knelt and immediately muttered a prayer that the other Stormcloaks and Morn followed. Drystan noticed the look of horror on Noxa's face and said to everyone, "There's no need to let it rot here. Take what you need from the giant if there is anything worth taking and then we'll push him over the bridge and into the river, which is the best burial we can give him now."

Noxa took no part in the looting and did her best to ignore the giant's corpse except to take herself upstream, out of sight of it, to wash the traces of vomit off her face. She rejoined the group, pale and shaky, after giving the corpse a reasonable span of time to float away.

Septimus took no part in the fight, inglorious to fight with such odds even if it is against a mighty creature of the wild.
He stood by the archers to guard and command them.
"Nock, draw. Loose!"
"Nock, draw. Loose!"
"Nock, draw. Loose!"
And so on, and arrows flew en-masse at the bewildered creature. He held up his hand to halt the archers once the giant has been engaged in melee.

Yu removed his blade and began to walk away. Whiterun was across the bridge, right? Well then, it was time to go there. He had no right to disturb the dead in this place, and the murderer should not bury the victim. Bloody blade still in his hand, the Argonian walked to the bridge and stood vigil where the giant had been.

Sophia stayed silent during the battle as she watched the awful display of hacking and slashing that her comrades executed. She was confused and she cannot explain the feeling that she had towards the dreadful encounter.
The young girl did not know whether to pity the innocent giant or to rejoice from its death. Once again, she felt her head ached like it was stabbed by sharp piercing object – a state she normally undergoes when she’s having mixed emotions or conflict of thought. She held her head and squeezed it tight, shook it off hoping to ease the pain.
When she heard Drystan’s voice telling about looting the giant, her body reluctantly moved towards it. She scanned the ground for something that she could sell in the town to get her some extra clothes and other items that she might find usable like it was the right thing to do at that time.
A few pieces of gold caught her eyes. The giant probably dropped them during the encounter. Sophia bended down and picked up the coins and while she was picking them she suddenly stumbled on a silver ring. She thought the ring would gain her some septims so she took it too.

Sophia looks down at the giant's toe. She shivers thinking about cutting it off. Maybe someone who isn't so squeemish might want it.
Drystan was right about not letting the corpse lay here and rot. Sophia grabbed an arm and tried to pull the giant toward the river. It wouldn't budge.
She calls out "I could use some help here. The sooner we get this over with the sooner we can get to Whiterun."
As she is saying this she looks down at the gore on her clothes and wonders once again if she should have left the farm. "I don't know about anyone else but I can't wait to get to town and have a nice hot bath and some clean clothes."

Once they've picked the carcass clean of what they need, several burly Stormcloaks help Sophia dump the corpse in the river, where it floats slowly downstream.

The splendor of Whiterun astonished the young mage that made her forgot the sick feeling on her body. It was her first time to visit such magnificent town. The different establishments amazed her as hints of happiness can be seen over her pale visage. The farm girl turned her head left and right and delightfully checked out the sights that the town had to offer. There were a lot of trades to see and she couldn’t decide where to start. A peculiar site didn’t escape her eyes as she esteemed its unusual form not knowing that it is the home of the famous Companions while the tree of Kyraneth ((I forgot what this is really called)), even dead-looking , gave her the chills of excitement. But most of all, what really caught her sight was the Dragonsreach standing proud and high at the top of the town.
“Wow…” the girl whispered in bedazzlement. “That’s really huge and pretty! I wonder how it looks inside.”
She raised her hands up to her chin in admiration, only find out that the smelly stench of blood had still lingered all over her clothes.
“Oh, I really need to wash this,” She said with dismay. Then she turned to her companions and asked, “Is there a store here where I can buy new clothes?”

Thorald stepped aside with Drystan as they entered the city. "Here, my men have to take their leave, yet I shall continue on my way to the Gray-Mane manor, where you and your companions are invited to stay over for the night on the condition that I come with you on your journey."
Drystan nodded and thought about it. After a minute he said, "Very well. I accept."
Drystan then walked towards the group with Thorald as the Stormcloaks walked away among the Whiterun crowds. "Thorald Gray-Mane has graciously invited us to his manor here in the city for the night. He shall lead you to the manor where you may rest and place your things. Then you may go off and get supplies for your own. Meanwhile, I shall meet my contact here, then find you tomorrow at noon by the Whiterun gates. I will not be staying with you tonight."
With that Drystan walked off into an alleyway and disappeared into the shadows.

Noxa followed Thorald to the manor—she didn't have anything she really needed to drop off, but she wanted to know where it was—but it wasn't until they came almost to the entrance that it finally dawned on Noxa who their guide was.
Wait...that Gray-Mane? She gawped at Thorald behind his back, only managing to shut her mouth with effort. He was a family member of Eorlund Gray-Mane! The Eorlund Gray-Mane! The greatest blacksmith in all Skyrim! Even down in Cyrodiil, Noxa had heard stories of his work in the Skyforge...
Noxa managed to control herself sufficiently to nod courteously when she was shown where she would be staying, but not enough to keep from peeking into every room and doorway they passed on the way in the hopes of catching a sight of the famous smith. Not that she'd recognize him and, in any case, he might very well be working. Still. Eorlund Gray-Mane! And they were staying in his house!

It was near sunset as the light began to creep behind the Skyrim mountains. Thorald said to the group as they ended the Gray-Mane mansion, "Welcome to my family home! You may recognize that our family does include the great smith, my father, Eorlund Gray-Mane. He does not live here, though. Jorrvaskr is more to his liking, as does another of my kin, Vignar. At this hour, Eorlund is likely at the Skyforge."
"Brother!" yelled another very large and well bearded Nord who ran into the room.
"Avulstein!" replied Thorald in joy as he outstretched his arms.
They both embraced each other then turned to the group.
"This here is my brother, Avulstein." said Thorald with a large smile.
"Welcome! Any friend of my brother is a friend of mine!" greeted Avulstein.
Thorald turned to Avulstein. "Where is Oflina and our mother?"
"Gone for the week, brother. Went to Windhelm with Vignar and a complement of our guards. They are making it official."
"They are pledging to Ulfric finally? Good!"
Avulstein grinned and said to the group, "Let me show you to the guest rooms where you may stay for the night. Thorald, if you could kindly see that the cooks prepare us a feast for tonight, I would be very appreciative."
Thorald thumped his chest lightly twice, then walked towards the kitchens, dumping his gear onto a wandering servant as he went.
Avulstein then continued, "Before I show you to your rooms, may I know your names?"

Sophia turned sad as she saw her comrades walk away one by one disregarding her pose. She sighed deeply and decided to just do it with herself since she’s already a grown-up and thought she won’t be lost in the big town. She took note of the Gray-Mane’s house that Thorald told the group in which they will stay for the night and planned to go there after she bought some new clothes.
She began to trek the straight path where she saw a lot of people and traders. As she reached the place, the young mage looked at each store and checked if the merchants sold what she need. In the process, Sophia also noticed the signs of some buildings and one of them caught her attention.
“Be-le-thor’s Ge-ne-ral Goods…”, she read slowly as she smiled remembering her master and thanking him for teaching her how to read.
From the sign, the young mage thought the store might offer what she needed so she decided to walk in. As she opened the door, she found that nobody was inside. The girl tried to call permission to enter but then different kinds of good met her curious eyes. She forgot to ask consent and instead headed for the display.
With the interest of the farm girl visiting the city for the first time she checked out everything she could see at glance. Some things she admired. Others she taught were peculiar especially the skulls. She wondered what they might be for.
As a part of her never-ending nosiness, she couldn’t help but speculate if the skull was from some kind of animal or monster. She tried to touch it with his forefinger just to get a feel of its texture when she suddenly heard a voice of a man entering the room.
“Everything’s for sale, my friend. Everything.”
Sophia was in shock, for she did not expect that, her heart beat fast as she tried to explain her doing with, “I was just looking… I’m not trying to steal.”
“You look like you are an outsider, eh? What brings a nice lass here in my store?”, the shopkeeper asked disregarding the girl’s apologies.
The young mage stepped close to the counter and shyly answered, “I… would like buy new clothes. How much would it cost?”
“Hmm…”, Belethor looked at the young lady scrutinizing her whole. “I see you are bloodied and you don’t smell good, I know something that’ll fit you.”
The shopkeeper went into another room and after a moment of searching he came back bringing something. It was a nice tan belted tunic. Belethor laid it on the counter for Sophia to inspect.
“Beautiful isn’t it?” the shopkeeper said. “It will perfectly fit you, try it on.”
He escorted Sophia to another room where she could privately fit the clothes. After some seconds, Sophia emerged out wearing the belted tunic that she was about to buy.
“Perfect! You look beautiful, young lady!” Belethor exclaimed in admiration. “Two golds.”
“Ah— " Sophia was about to say something but she felt that the shopkeeper was in a rush.
She would like to have more time to look in the mirror and adore the new clothes on her but thought that the dress would be ok anyways as just a temporary replacement for her bloodied robes. She handed Belethor a couple of gold and exited the shop.
“I wished to take a bath before wearing this but, uh… that shopkeeper— ", her guilty talk was cut by a sight not far from her.
Near the market stalls, Sophia saw a man, kneeling on the ground offering the amulet of Mara to a young lady. He was continuously saying sweet words and the girl seemed to appreciate it so much. The couple looks very happy and romantic.
“Will you marry me? ((Er, are you interested in me?))”, the man proposed to the young girl.
“Yes, I will!” the young girl replied without a doubt.
The man raised and hugged the young girl tightly then they kissed each other passionately. The sight stricken Sophia and it made her sad. She remembered again her painful life where her lover couldn’t show her the hint of spending the rest of his life with her. The farm girl’s heart felt heavy and hurting. She couldn’t do anything but cry. She ran away from the couple, far away from them until she reached an isolated place in Whiterun where there are no people to been seen.
Still crying, Sophia found herself in front of a stream. She tried to stop the tears that were flowing continuously from her eyes but she just couldn’t do it. Her heart was totally hurt and she was really emotional about the subject.
Half conscious of her action, Sophia dipped her bloodied Mages Robe on the stream and began to wash it. Memories of her agonizing love life had filled her thoughts as more tears fell from her eyes in the stream and mingled with the blood from her clothes. She couldn’t help but wonder why she was different from the rest. If she had only been a normal girl her lover would have long ago proposed his love to her.
“What in Skyrim are you doing in our stream?!” a female voice from behind stopped Sophia’s miserable reminiscence.
She immediately wiped her tears and turned to the origin of the voice. A young Nord girl came into her sight. She was tall and pretty and had short brown hair and she looks like one of the locals. She carried a basket with her that held some merchandise like fruits and vegetables.
“Uh, trying to wash my clothes? ”, she answered blankly.
“You shouldn’t be doing that here in Whiterun! If the guards catch you, you will be imprisoned in no time.”
“There! There’s where the blood came from!” a deep male voice echoed from afar along with clanging metal sounds.
“Oh no! The guards! Come with me, fast!”, the Whiterun citizen called to Sophia.
Panicky, Sophia followed the stranger. The stranger grabbed her arm and they both ran fast as they could away from the guards until they reached a house.
“Here, come inside”, the Whiterun citizen called to Sophia as she opened the door to the house.
Both girls rushed inside panting heavily as they try to hide from the Whiterun guards. The stranger closed the door without delay.
“An outsider, I suppose? I am Ysolda, by the way and this is my house”, the stranger introduced herself as she offered Sophia a bench to sit on and some wine to ease the fatigue.
“Thank you, Ysolda. My name is Sophia”, the mage replied still catching her breath. “I’m not from here. I was with a group of people who were just trying to spend a night in your city.”
“Yes, it looks like you aren’t a local. Nobody would dare wash their bloodied clothes in the streams”, she chuckled as she concluded the farm girls identity.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I was probably not thinking right at that time”,
“You shouldn’t have left your comrades. One wrong move in Whiterun can get yourself thrown inside the prisons and I’m pretty sure you won’t like it,” Ysolda explained.
“But they were busy so I tried to help myself”,
“I see, adventurers are always like that. When they reach the city, all they do is roam around and check everything. But I assume you are looking to wash your clothes?”
“Yes”, the Sophia answered.
“Here use mine and it also seems that you need to take a bath, you smell really horrible!”, Ysolda told the mage as she showed Sophia her laundry place and bathroom.
“Why are you so kind to me?”, the young mage wondered as she asked the hospitable stranger.
Ysolda smiled and winked, “You looked so broken-hearted over your robes so I tried to help.”
Sophia chuckled at the joke, though she knew what Ysolda really meant. She bowed to Ysolda to show her gratitude and spoke no more further. At least, the farm girl was happy about what happened for it made her burden lighten a bit. She began to wash her clothes and afterwards took a bath at the stranger’s house, while Ysolda prepared a nice meal for the two of them. She was very happy to have a guest at her house. And when the mage was finished, the girls ate the food together as they made a small talk.
The mage felt it was time to go so she bid Ysolda goodbye but she was very thankful at the Whiterun citizen who was really friendly. She promised to visit her again. Ysolda on the other hand was also very thankful, since she rarely had guests at her house.
The young mage easily found the Gray-Mane’s house using her outstanding mapping skills – one of her unusual traits that she can’t still decipher how she got them. The door was open so she entered silently.
“Before I show you to your rooms, may I know your names?”
“I’m glad I got here in time”, the young mage whispered.
“My name is Sophia.”
((Sophia bought a Belted Tunic.))

A hunch told him that this Nord city would hold a great job opportunity for him.
With some happy thoughts in his head, Dar'Shenn bought a red apple from the marketplace and went to hang out near the Gildergreen.

He knelt broken for a few moments, then became apparent to the bloodstains on his fine clothes, and the clotted blood on his arms, but the stench of it concerned him more, that distinct smell, he then decided that he should first attend to his personal needs before anything else.
Septimus rose and after finding a fitting 'bath' he undressed and dove into the water, rubbing himself clean. (dragonreach's moat next to the shrine of Talos >.< )

As she went on her little side quest adventure, Yu shadowed his somewhat ditzy farm girl companion to make sure she didn't put herself in harm's way... again. The Argonian did his best not to be detected, which meant that everyone except his target knew exactly where the large lizard was at all times, many chickens were disturbed on their daily walks about town, and many a pot and pan were rattled. Most people began to doubt the stereotype that Argonians were a stealthy race.
After waiting for her outside the shop for a while, Yu decided Sophia would be fine and quickly made his way back to the group.

"They are pledging to Ulfric finally? Good!"
Yu barely held back his sigh and dramatic eye roll. Was everyone so war like in this country that they were just waiting for an excuse to fight? Not wanting to offend his host, Yuan-Ta wisely held his tongue.

Making a slight bow, the adventurer answered, "I am Yuan-Ta, of the Black Marsh in Tamriel."

"And I am Morn Rockreaver of Riverwood." said the resident Nord in the group.
"Welcome all, friends!" replied Avulstein as he began to turn around to show the group to their rooms.
"Wait!" said Morn suddenly as he held up his hand. "Where is Septimus and that Breton weasel?
Claude attempted to follow Drystan several minutes after he left the group. It was hard tracking the elf through the dusty alleyways, but there were faint traces that the master thief could pick up. Once a part of the High Rock Thieve's Guild, Claude had a variety of skills that allowed him to find anyone with ease, but Drystan was proving to be a harder person to find than he could imagine. Then he found one of those perfect newly minted gold Septims on the ground. It had to be the elf's. Only he had such fresh metal outside of Cyrodiil. Without hesitation, Claude touched it, intending to pick it up, when the illusion vanished and Drystan stepped out of the wall, with a dagger close in hand. Before Claude could react, Drystan's blade was against the Breton's throat.
"Why are you following me?" said Drystan sternly, his eyes burning with a bright blue glint.
"I was-I was just..." stammered Claude, looking for words to get himself out of the mess he was in.
At that moment Claude noticed Drystan's hand slowly being covered with some sort of magic wood and vines. A single vine crept across the dagger around Claude's throat. He tried to yell out for help or for something, but no sound came. With his other hand, Drystan snatched a a ring from around one of Claude's fingers then released the man. Claude fell down into the dirt unconscious.
Another person, hooded and cloaked, stepped from the wall that moment and said to Drystan with an icy voice, "Another one of them?"
"Yes." replied the elf, his wooden gauntlet burning off his arm as he spoke. "See what you can get this rat to spit out. I cannot deal with him."
"As you wish." The man bowed and dragged Claude into the illusory sanctuary. Drystan looked around for a moment, then retreated into the wall as well.
