Who is supposed to put effort into it again? We? Not sure if you have even read what you said.
Oh I know what I said. And no, I wasn't talking about us specifically. I was just talking about anyone, actually.
Nobody makes a LP if he believes no one will watch.
Nobody writes an AAR if he thinks no one will read.
Nobody creates a game if he believes no one will play it.
When you create something, anything, it isn't just for your own sake, you want to share it with people. Or sell it to people, in most cases.
Point is, as long as y'all keep shouting/yelling/demanding/etc for a better game, someone's bound to do it, be it Ubisoft or some other company that buys the rights, or just some small game dev that does something strangely very similar with a similar name.... like I said, just anyone really. Someone will do it, at any rate, simply because he knows there's people that are going to want to play it.
In the end, the series only truly dies if y'all stop caring.
This is true on a broad sense. There will always be turn based strategy as long as there is demand for turn based strategy. The Heroes series is owned by Ubisoft and if they stop making and don't sell it, no one else can make it and it dies. They wouldn't do that, but the point is Heroes as you know it could die.

Heroes will never die.
Heroes VI maybe.
My opinion is I would love Heroes to have factions with different skill preferences to other factions (wizard - knowledge, humans - defense, orcs - attack, dungeon - spell power, etc). It's what made Heroes V so replayable.
This universal pool of skills and abilities for every faction to choose from is too general for balancing reasons....
This is why people are cursing VI.....

well, of course, they shouldn't be surprised if they release unfinished games, that people don't pay for them.

Danse means dance in Norwegian.
Also no one at Ubi knows how to spell check.

Actually the spelling is correct, as it refers to a French concept of the late Middle Ages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danse_Macabre

Quote: What I am really pissed about though, is people that just abandon all hopes for the future. If people declare the series dead to them, Ubi will make it dead. If people shout for better quality for Ubi to get their money, Ubi will make a little effort towards a better game. Because that'll get them more of your money.
Point is, raging is fine I suppose, ragequitting forever and ever is just bad. Heroes can be a good game if you put the effort into it. Nobody will ever put effort into it if you won't even look at the end result though.
I am not ragequitting, in fact I am not mad at all. I'm just disappointed for the fact that they keep raping the franchise over and over again in hopes to get more money. And no, they are not getting my money for ignoring the fans and not making any efforts for the game. It seems to me that Ubi is selling the games for new players, those that are not familiar with the older games, like themselves, obviously.
As Avirosb said: Quote: Someone will pick up the franchise eventually, even if it takes 20 years or more.
Hopefully, someone more competent will be at the helm by then.
I agree with you 100%. I really hope, and I truly mean it, is that Ubi will sell the rights to someone else.
I am actually very interested to see what's Ubi's next move. If they move straight into H7, which I doubt, I might take a look at it, of course. But if they are not continuing H6, then you can only guess how much effort they'll put to the next one.

Quote: 7. It has, as if you played Duel of the Champions you will see that it uses a lot of Heroes 6 reused artwork, and so the people doing this artwork are probably the same.
Just a point on this one.
Since I like DoC I watch what is going on in it. The games artist are under contract with Ubisoft Quebeck (Sorry to all Canadian if I miss-seplled it). I do not know if they have 3mages studion work for them as an autsoourced company, but since they are a Hungarian/Slovak company I highly doubt it
And since Both projects are owned by UBI. Ubi has all the rights to use images they own in as many projects as they like.
Example: The heroes 5 Images have been created by Nival. You can find them or very similar artwork in other ubi games like H-Kingdoms and H-online.
Example 2: The Images of Heroes 6, can be found in 2 of the newly anounced titles. DoC has few of them, other are recreated in a similar sitle (Sun Crusaders look similar but Glories have a new image). Also They are used in the interface of Heroes Online for now. Which is done ba a German company.
So once again this does not prove anything to me. The Ashan Compoundium will most probably use H6 artwork aswell. Ubi owns it, they have the right to use it.

Actually, they seem to have intended to write this in french. Danse macabre = Dance of death in english. Amusing how they're going for french here. Maybe Sandro will have a french accent?

I don't think it's very surprising that they're going with French here. The danse macabre is a topos, something like a commonplace which in some variation is often found in mediaeval literature, music and art. In my mother tongue, which is German, the French term is almost as commonly used as the German one (which is 'Totentanz'). Is this not the case with English?
Edit: Here's how to pronounce it: http://www.forvo.com/word/danse_macabre/

He sounds like a bored version of Caleb from the Blood games, and even then he manages to be the larger ham.
