My magical tears defeated Locksley's magical tears in a duel that I am expecting to post sometime this weekend.
I'd describe it more, but it was somewhat straightforward : he turtled and I worked at it until I got through to him. Then the duel was kinda done.

No bronze for me
Simpel(Haven) vs Locksley(Necro)
This took some time to finish, don't fall asleep before the end of the movie Simpel will release.
Lots of damaging stuff - like heal(!), chainlightning, the light star, and hero direct attack from Simpel (no meditation).
Lots of puppet, terror, ice armour, and elementals from me. And only a few serious mistakes.
His haven healing was far better than necromancy. The necro-circle fills up so #¤%¤#@&¤ slow, and that meant a lot.
The end was kinda fun. When my army was lost I turned to guerilla tactics - a long, slow, beautiful death.

I have good news and bad news. Some guy from the ubi forum suggested that the freezes may be connected to the widgets and that deactivating them reduces such incidents by a lot. A few tries on my end seem to confirm that which is good for my playing but less so for chatty dueling.. Argh.
Meanwhile I have been a little busy but the map balancing is getting back on track. Current army values look like that, level will probably be 30. It's up to balancing now though I kinda fear stronghold versus inferno at this point The extra armies are more likely to help might than magic(esp in stronghold's case) as the former may get the chance to attack first and dish out some serious damage, level 30 allows for plenty of passive boosters. I might remove the extra joiners, we'll see. Also going to add a 5th row of artifacts and relics are naturally back in.

For the record army values are calculated without fortifications III as it greatly inflates champions compared to other units. The fortification growth is +2 multiplied by the units' respective weeks minus the week they were built. It is assumed that cores are built week 1, elites week 2 and champions week 4. Their upgrade growth comes into play two weeks after they are built.

Hi Elvin,
just wondering, should we not use less creatures for the duels? 31 Champions seems too much and duels will last forever...The h5 duel maps were great with Tier 7's not passing double digits (ie. max = 8)....makes for quick duels....

You missed the previous round where champions were 9 But that was with lvl 20 and reputation lvl 1. If you use an army lower than what I posted at lvl 30 and reputation lvl 2 then magic owns might hard. Even one less week can make things go downhill.

I also thought of only going to level 15 with build. That way you have to be careful with what you choose....
