If they only get Frostlings and Tigrans back into the game, they have almost everything covered. I would love to see those.

Frostlings are OK (even though I don't care about them very much) but Tigrans? They were pretty much a placeholder faction before (Draconians with whiskers from conceptual point of view) and will be even more in AoW III where they are totally omitted in the original game, lore and gameplay. For a good reason. I'd rather see the Shadow World and its denizens back, or alternatively the Chaos plane - that would be something different than "just another set of creatures for the sake of another set of creatures".

Placeholder for what exactly?
And sure I would love to see Shadow Demons or some sort of Chaos Demons, but I think that they would go with the starting AoW2 factions before they start inventing new ones.

Tigrans?
No one gives a crap about tigrans.
But I would like more climatic bonus/penalty to be implemented in the game. Frostlings as a new race for such dlc/expansion would fit nicely.

Overall, that Necromancer Class looks amazing to me, so far. Though I must agree on the wailer - it looks kind of ridiculous, not like he is "wailing" but rather calling someone. "Heeeello. Children! Lunchtime!"^^ just weird.

Except that it pulls at its head so the neck stretches longer and longer. Scary! I mean, it doesn't look AGGRESSIVE - as they say, inspired by the scream, it's desparation itself.
I'm actually in awe about the concept.

And finally, the Frostlings are coming! Man, this expansion/DLC/Whatever is getting better and better. Those two Frostlings units look great, and like with Necromancer class, Frostling units seem to work great with each other. I hope that they are going to improve those kind of relationships between units of other factions, I would love to see that.
Oh and the cold death is upon us! Can't wait to try out the Frostling Necromancer! ^^

Another part of Frostling units, they are really cool and seem to be quite different from other races which I like a lot. Mammoth riders are back! Harpooners are amazing units with amazing utility and Raiders seem like a lot better Swordsmen from other factions. Really wondering what will they have instead of Pikemen as Harpooners already have Polearm ability.
I am hoping that they will change other factions more than they already have, as Frostlings really stand out of each other faction with most of their units dealing physical and frost damage and having more utility than your usual archer/infantry/irregular unit which makes them quite good in mid and late game and not just early game.

Today I see it. I see what I wasn't able to see some months ago.
When I first installed AoW III, my gaming sessions were horrible. I was new to the series and had no clue what to think of it or how it played. So I went for the introductory campaign, the one with the elves, in a attempt to at least learn the basics. I felt overwhelmed. Most of the time the only thing I was doing was reading, little actual gameplay. Moving through mountains was surprising, terrain had different features fairly important, objects were undistinguishable for my untrained eye, but I tried to be patient and "cope" with it (that was my mentality then). I had no idea what I was looking at when I opened the research tab, so I had to read even more. Then before you knew it I had to do a battle with some brigands or whatever they were. I was completely lost on the battlefield, so do more reading. Didn't really helped as I lost one "stack" (I know...) and at that point I called it quits. Second attempt consisted of me trying to get out from the linearity of story telling from the campaign and go for something more open in a skirmish. After creating my leader, which took me some hours, I proceeded on a difficulty a bit higher than normal and got stomped. Quitting again. Then trying it again, even more patiently. Empire building beat me, exit game. And that was my story for some other several attempts after which I just completely quit.
Today, months after, I decided to open the game on a whim. I couldn't believe my eyes, everything started to make sense. I now understand the basics fairly well to the point that I can actually tell what's going on, both on the map and in combat. And I'm enjoying it immensely. I have a feeling this will last for a while, and I only hope it'll get even better as I discover new things.
So I would appreciate if you guys would help me with some insights whenever I'm in need.

Nice story Stevie.
Ask whatever you like, the game really isn't noob-friendly and there is a lot of stuff to learn, and a lot of hidden stuff where Tome of Wonders won't help you.
One of the things I really like about AoW3 is random map generator, that is absolutely amazing. When I see this one, and then remember all those in Heroes games, I just facepalm and cringe.
There aren't many maps in AoW3 because they aren't needed at all with the way RMG is done.
If you want to learn game faster, better play skirmish than campaign.

Exactly.
You can configure the RMG every way you like, meaning, for the "kind" of game you want, and the RMG produces amazingly good maps, not only in terms of "interesting" or "reasonably balanced", but also in "aesthetically pleasing".

I'm still in the dark about empire development. This seems very Civ-like but I just want to make sure. Which approach is more efficient, buildings, troops, expansions, workers?
