You are late Stevie, linked on the previous page.
Yeah, Tigrans one of the races missing from AoW2. People are not really fond of them but they are quite cool imo, and looking at their abilities they will be quite unique faction(just like Frostlings) compared to other factions.
I really don't mind this being the last expansion, it is just overpacked with stuff.

Well, it seems that they disagree with you on them being just a placeholder(whatever you have meant by that).

Placeholder for a real faction. Tigrans are... what? Near-duplicates of the Nomads, yet another humanoid faction which is there because... you know, they could implement it, no real reason.

You should say that about Nomads, because as you know, Tigrans came out in AoW2 before Nomads did.
Going by that statement, you can say that many factions are just placeholders... that isn't even an argument.

Yeah, I'm imagining Ghoul Tigrans, Exalted Tigrans and Tigrans Succubus.

No, because he's RIGHT.
You shouldn't start a debate you can't win.
Speak after me: Tiger-drawn Chariots.
Tigrans will be special insofar that they will be deadly fast on the BF, cruel against everything already hurt and vulnerable against magic.
Also, you should keep in mind that there are the 7 regular racial units plus the plethora of class units that are somewhat different for each race. Not to mention undead versions.
So actually ALL races are "placeholders" in some way - and they could indeed take any race at all.
Nothing boring at all with a cat people!

OK, let's try it this way - you like it, fine. You say they are cool in general - not fine except you explain why (and actually provide some arguments, cats in chariots doesn't qualify). AoW has an abundance of redundant races and it also has some fairly original ones, Tigrans fall in the former category, races likes Syrons, Shadow Demons, Frostlings fall into the latter. An expansion will be better off with the second type.

Stating things without any reasoning doesn't change things. Tiger DRAWN Chariots are awesome.
Secondly, due to the game concept, "race" is a term that may invoke the wrong ideas. "Undead", for example, are not a race (anymore) in that game. Race is NOT faction. "Nomads" wouldn't qualify as a race, and Shadow Demons would neither.
Tigrans so, though. Cat people. They make a lot of sense - also I like felines, and having a race of them feels right with a view on cats being predators.
So actually the whole nonsense about whether they are cool or boring or redundant or whatever falls short: Tigran Succubus, Tigran Exalted, Tigran Musketeer - that's the interesting stuff in the game.

Says you, I don't find it inspired or interesting at all. But that's going nowhere, Tigrans will be yet another race I wouldn't care about, the game will still be good enough (it just could be even better but there's still time).

There isn't much to read in your "posts":
Zenofex said: Placeholder for a real faction. Tigrans are... what? Near-duplicates of the Nomads, yet another humanoid faction which is there because... you know, they could implement it, no real reason.
THAT would be what you call a post? Nomads came only in SM, so where is the logic here?
Anyway - it's no FACTION - it would seem you didn't understand the game, calling them that way.
So I would assume you just don't like Tigrans or cats or both, period.
Just say so, but don't try to give an opinion additonal weight

I like cats actually.
Since you're willing to bite the word, fine - replace faction with race. Is the world order restored now?
By near-duplicates of the Nomads I mean an unnecessary faction/race/group/nation/insert-proper-term-here which is conceptually shallow. You could just as successfully create a faction/race/group/nation/insert-proper-term-here of dogs. Or cows. Or whatever animal-gone-anthropomorphic you want. Cats in Egyptian clothes, yeah, very original, Bast and all the cat cults of Egypt migrated to high fantasy with next to no modification. But what for? Do they have something interesting to tell? Not quite, as far as I can tell, they're there because there was an empty slot to fill.
For the record I never got the conceptual idea of Archons or the separation of Orcs and Goblins / Wood Elves and Dark Elves (that was fixed, +1 for Triumph), Halfings are a joke. In the end it hardly matters, as long as they ultimately bring back the interesting factions/races/groups/nations/insert-proper-terms-here. Which I hope for.
