Well, as you may or may not know, both silvan and Sylvan are a derivative from two latin words. Silva, which means forrest and Sylvanus (also spelled with an i), the Roman god of Forrests.
I wouldn't say it was funny though, rather mildly interesting.

Why thank you for your response War!
What was funny is that the woman did not know what the answer was, but if she played heroes she sure as hell would have known

Recommandation: ubi should donate/sell franchise, they already showed us enough!
Dream case scenario: New World Computing is reactivated and the franchise being sold back to it.
But as I said - that's a dream case scenario, and the second best scenario would be nowhere near that...

From the artwork in the compendium .. I would LOVE to see Academy back. Have you seen the Titan and Jinn artwork? Absolutely amazing. Of course Sylvan would be just as amazing..so why not both? Heck I could even suggest the line up of creatures without too many elves/etc.

We only need a decent developer and give them continuity, a publisher that doesn't *@!* the game with stupid decisions, some communication with the VIPs fans and the rest comes by itself

I can almost see the Academy in Heroes 6.. It would be glorious! There is absolutely no other faction that could possibly take their place.
Haven brings military might, defense and blesses. Focus on Light and Air.
Inferno brings offensive spell, high damage creatures that can swarm the battlefield with gating. Favours Fire, Fire and Prime.
Stronghold brings offenaive might flexible yet limites magic potential. Favours Earth, Air and slighly Fire.
Sanctuary brings manouverability, movement restricting spells and other debuffs. Favours Water and Air.
Necropolis brings hard to kill creatures, strong magic and debuffs. Favours Earth(?) and Dark magic.
Dungeon brings hard hitting glass canons, DoT and focuses on Dark and Fire/Earth.
Now the Academy would be full of mechanical/elemental creatures, battlfield control spells and illusions(although phantom image is now apparently a dark spell) and adventure map utility spell, such ulas Fly. They would favour all schoola equally with particular affinity to altered Prime school(due to their hatred of Void spells)

Which faction?
How about all three remaining ones. Maybe that'll give ppl some incentive to buy the game and boost sales...

Didn't they say in an interview that there was currently no second expansion in the works? Let's hope they stick to that.

+1. A lot of stuff is broken on the core of the game, and additions & patches create more problems. A fresh start is neede imo

Heroes 6 still has so much untapped potential it would be stupid not to explore. Do you reqlise that h7 will be managed by ubisoft with a brand new studio once AGAIN? It will take them 3 years to produce and then history will repeat itself. And i doubt that h7 will be even on par with h6.

I never said it was(although it is one of my favourite games of all times, if not the most), I just doubt that H7 will surpass it.

Yes, I realize that it will be a complete new start, but frankly, with a core game that is so badly designed and so full of bugs as Heroes 6 is, I'd rather have a Heroes 7 in three years from now than waiting another year for another expansion and THEN three years for Heroes 7. As for your conclusion that it will not be on par with Heroes 6, I frankly doubt that they can sink any deaper than they did here. I may not understand UbiLogic, but they do seem to prioritize maximizing their own prophit, so with that in mind, I'm pretty confident that they will understand that H6 was a misstep and they they will do better in looking back to H5 and H3, just like they pretty much overlooked H4 when they developed H5.

As many of you will know, I am not part of the "Heroes VI is the worst thing since Judas Isacriot"-crowd, I like the game, I'm gonna have to agree with most things Alci said here.
The fact that it will likely be taken to a new dev is actuall a good thing. For the most part because they get to build a new game from the ground up. Whereas the devs now had to work with whatever the previous devs left them with. BlackHole's original was barley functional, rushed and allegedly sloppy, making it very hard for subsequently Limbic and Virtuos to do much with it without causing more problems. Starting with a clean slate will, unless the new devs screw it up themselves, make for a better game.
As far as the 3 years wait goes, possibly. If SoD realy was the last expansion, which everything indicates, pre-production may well have already started when they were still working on SoD. Something which tends to be common, as the people who do most of the pre work tend to be different people than those who do the programming. The 3 year wait from 5 to 6 was likely in part caused because Ubi and Nival had a falling out and it was decided not to go through with 6 in the hands of Nival, rendering most if not all the pre-production work done by Nival moot. SO if it is already in the works, we might see a 7 sooner.
And if I can believe Elvin, which has less to do with Elvin and more to do with those who relay info to him, Ubi has learned a lot from Heroes 6 design-wise and are aware of things that did not go down well. If they will do anything about it something different, but the profit incentive is a strong one to please.
The only thing I don't agree with is that it can't get any worse. Regardless of my own feelings for the game and some of the choices made. I am a firm believer that things can always get worse and that saying that things cannot get worse is giving an open invitation to whatever higher power you believe in to make it so.
So Heroes 6 is perhaps a low point in the cylce, but there can be lower ones and I urge people not to go inviting it.

Well, seeing how big of a developer Ubisoft is, I don't think they would have any problems in making an expansion for H6 and the next entry simultaneously, maybe with different studios. Heck, we don't even know if they're making Heroes 7 already...
But I agree, although I would really like to see one more faction, this game is helpless. Each new entry based on this broken code brings only more bugs...
And, in reference to War-overlord's post, things might get from bad to worse. We've seen the Conflux, which is imo an idiotic idea for a turn based game, which is still mainly a single-player game actually (multi should be optional, as it's always been). We might get another "bright idea", like moving the franchise to being a web-browser game (altough there's one already), or a free-to-play, pay to expand like game. The more Ubi's trying to revolutionize the franchise the worse it gets if you ask me...
