Funny pic Elvin! But this just implies unlikelihood of another expansion... This Ubisoft position may change if they are satisfied with SoD sales... Who knows.

I think so too, sales can be a powerful motivation. Still.. might as well move on.

This one?
I'm not so sure about that one. The first time I've seen that one was when I got my copy of the Ashan Compendium. I'm fairly sure that this was made for the SoD expansion and it depicts her transformation to a Dark Elf when she made a pact with the Faceless.
On another note, technically speaking, there is no such thing as a Wood-Elf in Ashan. There are Elves and Dark Elves. Once the same species, now actually physically different. (And Sea-Elves, if you want to go into it even more deeply, though they are physically no different from elves.)

No, I meant these ones.

If its is even Tuidhana, as I was led to believe.
The one you posted is Tuidhana during the ritual, I think. I have first seen it uploaded on m&m facebook.
On another note, people call Sylvan High Elves, Light Elves otlr whatever else, but they are in fact, Wood Elves. According to official portal.
Aka: The Wood Elves
Associated Colours:The Wood Elves Green, brown and silver
Country / Kingdom: Irollan, the forest maze
Capital City:There are four capitals, changing each season: Syris Thalla,Syris Vaniel, Syris Lothran and Syris Wynna
The Dark Elves only differ from Wood Elves in their eyes colour, and thingd like pale skin, etc which attributes to their habitat. Similar changes I am sure accured to Sea Elves(tanned skin, less focus on Sylanna, etc).

If you are referring to the portrait in the screenshot, that is Lorelei. As you could have read in the spoilers thread.
If we take the compendium as a guideline, then Wood is just a nickname to distingish Elves from Dark Elves.

Quote: The patch 2.1 is huge and contains both SoD content and over +160 bugs
At least, they are honest with us.
I've already written that Academy is the faction that I would like to see in the game first. Sylvan has a lot in common with Sanctuary, but that's just the problem of Ashan. Elves and Nagas can be very different, for example, as it used to be in "The Frozen Throne", where Nagas were more... wild (not sure if it's the right word). I think that "Heroes VII" should introduce a new vision of the Sanctuary faction: more reptiles, less humans, a new concept of reservoirs dependence, more destructive water spells associated with the power of stormy seas and the deep and so on. Such creatures as Kappas, Sharkmen, Water Spirits, Coral and Deep Nagas suit the faction, Kirins shall be more savage (not sure about the word again) and Snow Maidens... Well, I really like these ladies, but they'd better be replaced by some reptiles or humanoids like amphibious Lizards or the second type of Ashan's Hydras (Hydras of Hashima's swamps, for instance). I remember Serpent Flies from "Heroes III" Fortress, not sure if they really suit Sanctuary (Dragonflies usually live near ponds, lakes and other reservoirs, so...), but I want to see them back. Sanctuary can have the following line-up: Cores represented by Kappas, Lizardmen, Dragonflies; Elites - Nagas, Nereids, Medusas; Champions - Hydras. With Sharkmen and Kirins being neutral or special campaign creatures.
This is my vision of the "Sanctuary / Sylvan" problem solution for the future instalments of the series.

Opps, sorry I did not make it clear enough. You have to click on a little offtopic button to see those arts I wanted to show you.
Wood Elves seem fitting to them, really. They live in the woods and more of a ranger type elves then Tolkien/magic high elves.

Neither of those are known to be Tuidhana.
As far as is known, those are generic Sylvan Rangers. The only one know/asserted to is the brooding one, which is supposed to be King Arniel.
Those artworks are generic ones for Sylvan seen in the Compendium.

Holy snow! Never seen those before. Give me Sylvan ****ing now!
Anyway, I do not see how Sanctuary replaces Sylvan. Sure, they both got plenty of green and wisdom. But the two greens are different and in my mind, Sylvan are or should be styled after native north americans who are quite different from japanese/asians in style.

I think that the factions' design isn't as important as their essence: Sanctuary and Sylvan have practically the similar nature oriented ones.

I still do not see the similarity in their nature. Gameplaywise they should be quite different and philosphically as well. Sanctuary is highly focused on forms of water while Sylvan are focused on earth, forests/vegetation and forest animals. I am going to have the similarites explained to me to understand...
Im going to vote in the poll even though I prefer Sylvan. Better any faction than any faction and I do not want to see H7 anytime soon.

I mean that these factions may turn out quite similar in "Heroes VI" because their heroes will have access to the same ability tree schools (all might + air / earth / water / light / prime).

That is honestly a pretty poor similarity. The factions should not be made with magic school dispension in mind. It does not really matter if one or two factions got the same magic schools available and it is more important that the schools fit the faction.

Hmm, I wonder how would a Might Academy hero look. They're all about magic, so a might hero is a bit out of place here (Heroes V had one hero type for each faction). The only reference are Heroes III and IV with their Alchemists and Lords respectively. Maybe a Scimitar Dancer or something as much corny

Blade mages.. Curious how that will work but I can get behind it. Blade mastery that depends solely on technique(and maybe a little magic) instead of force.
