There are many things worth living for DD and love isn't the only thing. The truth is that unless you go out, be crazy, be serious and meet a lot of different people, without this hang-up of 'having to fall in love' .... not only will to grow into a happy adult, but you will be able to recognise a 'real' love, rather than the first thing that might do.

I tried out the whole crazy thing, but my structured mind doesn't allow me to do that for long enough to actually get anywhere... and I'm super duper picky, so the people I was trying to "get crazy" with just weren't my type and did not turn me on at all. Therefore, I have concluded that all of your theory works for some people, but that I need to take the slower approach with girls (or guys) that I go out with.
Though I am a better kisser now, apparently.

LOL I never told DD to hurry into anything. I tried to condense stuff into that paragraph lol and probably sounded far too clichéd ha!
I just don't understand this 'need' to fall in love. You can't make yourself fall for anyone. I've come across many guys who I've looked at and thought, "Oh my goodness, I want your babies", and then he has opened his mouth and its like, meh! And the only long term relationships have been with people I've known for a long time. So yes, like everyone else I can have my lust moments, but if you want something more substantial you need to take your time and cultivate the relationship.
Not to mention that whilst in my teens, I wasn't the slightest bit interested in settling down with anyone. I wanted fun and adventure. Its amazing how you can discover hidden treasures when you are not looking.

Yeah, I don't need to be in "Love" to go out with someone, but I do have to at least like them and they have to be into long term relationships for anything to actually happen. Otherwise... well, let's just say that the romance train doesn't leave the station.

A good relationsip makes you not only a happy person but a stronger individual too. I find it very dangerous if the relationship becomes you. Break ups are bad enough, but if you're whole life is in that relationship... you know, that is what sad stories are written about. Just hoping DD finds a nice girl who encourages him to love himself too, not only her.

And yes, I am definitely poor by materialistic standards: I don't own a car or a cool phone like everyone else, I barely have any pocket money, I'm not really that good at anything except being a smartarse.. so yeah, love is the only thing that I see worth living for.
