It seems someone was more proactive (thank this user at Reddit) and already has the tool prepared that does the trick:

It should enable all the Uplay Content+DLC (even for people that didnt have it originally).
EDIT:
LINK removed - as of 18.10.2021. not needed anymore, as UBIsoft unlocked Uplay Rewards and DLCs automatically for affected games (better late than never).

As of now, Might & Magic X is available for purchase with all DLC's, even with the helmet.

I pre ordered collectors edition back in the day and found it worth the price.
However, that is coming from Turn based RPG fan.
If you are not heavily invested into this type of gameplay I would say just purchase when its on discount (happens frequently). Also the game is kinda hard on system specs (even today), so it is not recommended to be played on low end systems.
EDIT:
And i just checked, it seems to be 75% off even right now. so 7,50$

They made Falcon & Unicorn free? So after all the drama, the community still gets something out of it. Not bad.
The game is worth at least trying at the discounted price. Played it back in the day and had a blast. To be fair, it was still rough around the edges and the genre is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. But if you're into it and like the name of Might & Magic, absolutely go for it.

Yes, since they not do the check whether you purchased Rewards or DLCs anymore, they finally decided to unlock everything instead of locking out everyone after Act 1.
Everyone now gets by default - 4 Uplay artifacts (at start), promo Thunderblade Helmet (at start), Sana the Archmage NPC (in Seahaven), Meow Dungeon (in Karthal)... Expansion works as well regardless if you had DLC unlocked
Lastly, it probably didn't happen due to MMXL, but rather, 30ish other games which were affected by same problem for months (some games for years), but it is still a good thing and should be welcomed as such.
