Personally the only game of prue M&M I played was M&MVIII back in 2005, and I could just not get over it's poor graphics and it's 'I won't explain anything about the mechanics' approach. Then again, I did buy it second-hand without a manual, so perhaps it explained stuff there, and I never played it when it first came out. I also spent a very long time playing the castle wars card game
So I'm interested to see if M&MX will finally be the M&M to get me into it. 25 Hours may ot seem long, but hopefully it'll be a game with enough replayability to easily stretch the game out much longer.

To be honest, i wouldn't even mind it be a smaller game for starters, as long as it's well polished and plays out smoothly with interesting enough gameplay.
I wish Limbic all the best on this project.

What a coincidence, I started playing this series back in summer 2005 when my older brother wanted to replay M&M VIII (in my youth I watched him play M&M VII-VIII, but never tried them), and so I tried that time! I didn't mind the graphics and enjoyed a lot the game (dragons so OP )
Two years later (and after several replays of VIII) I enjoyed VII even more, the light/dark path was awesome.
(Then I discovered M&M IX and didn't last 15 minutes in my hard drive)

I have to agree here. If the game is relative small but it's well polished, making a bigger one after by the same studio wouldn't be a crazy idea ^^

Fun fact..
I think I did not see a map on any of the screens or gameplay, But it might be in the place of that big X:-P.

In M&M VII-VIII you had a minimap on the screen, but you also had a big map pressing one key.
I'm inclined to think it would be placed on the big X at the botton right of the screen, but better ask it to the team.

Yeah, I tried to create a topic about the Q&As but the HC forum won't let me as I have an "insufficient post count". Rubbish.

Both interviews are sounding very good and I think this game will really be actually good. I also like that they will aim for a high modability which is always a plus.

Here's the Key-Art for Might & Magic X, drawn by artist Jean-Sebastien Rossbach (http://livingrope.free.fr). The idea was to have an artwork reminiscent of the box arts of Might & Magic VI & VII (a party of heroes facing a Dragon), which in turn harked back to the old covers of Dungeon & Dragons.

Now if only they'd spice up the bestiary a little and animate the character portraits.
Here's hoping.

I really hoped the new installation of Might and Magic would have more to offer than copy-pasted models from Heroes V/VI and a very limited choice of races/classes...
Anyway, it's still great...but I would have liked smth more original from the previous game...And more variety with races such as Naga,Vampire,Troll,Djinn etc...

It looks interesting. Hopefully it will be a nice game. But it is not what I'm looking for. I'm still waiting for a MM6-8 game. I don't blame UbiSoft, NWC spoilt the storyline (MM9 and HoMM4).
So, this game has exactly what I dislike, storyline and models related to HoMM5-6, gameplay pre-MM6. It can be good, I bought HoMM5 and Dark Messiah and I think that they are good games (according to the expectations and the low budget, we aren't talking about blockbusters).
But I would like a new MM6-8 and I'm afraid that I'm not the only one. IMHO, MM7 is the best although MM6 is my favourite. Perhaps we will see a new real M&M in the future if UbiSoft keep listening to us and if the sales ratio is good enough. I would like it in Enroth (planet), surrounded by green goblins and looking at old faces again, but the most important thing is just the gameplay, old school but not as old as this new M&M.

Ubisoft has clearly stated multiple times that they won't go back to the old universe, they'll stay with Ashan.
Yeah, I'd like a M&M VI - VIII like game but since i have never actually tried the older ones i can't say by now that the grid based system will be worse.
