You are correct in your workings above, but you are talking about getting a specific card.
My calculations are relating to relating to getting a "type" of card, e.g. an epic fortune card. From the base set, this would be 5 / 59 = 8.5% (59 being 45 + 14 rare and epic cards).
It changes for commmon and uncommon cards, in other words, the probabilities get higher, due to that fact that you have 8 chances (common) and 3 chances (uncommon) of getting a certain card type.

How often do you say to your self "I need a common creaturre, or an Uncommon spell"?. Never. You say to yorself I need a Fireball or Soulreaver. I could use some more weaknesses.

So the important question is not "What will I get" But "What are the chances to get what I want"

When we would speak about common cards
In the base set there are 80 cards. One card is 100/80. 1.25% to get the  card you want. Since there are 8 of them in a pack, you could symply say that I have a 8x1,25% chance to get the common I want (that would be 10%).

But in fact it is more. since there can be no duplicats, each spot you do not get the card you need increases slightly the chancce in the next spot.
The whole formula would then look like this
(100/80)+(100/79)+(100/78)+(100/77)+(100/76)+(100/75)+(100/74)+(100/73)

And the total number would be
10,46691% to get the common card you want

To make it complete (pleas correct me if I'm wrong)
The probability of getting a card you want in a reinforcement pack are:
(for the base set)
Common 10,46691%
Uncommon 4,412401%
Rare 1,904762%
Epic 1,020408%

Btw, in your description, you are saying that Adar-Malik is one of your biggest problems. My question is why? I know that never-ending Atropos is overpowered, but in my games, I can't touch him with it. Even if I recycle him again and again with creatures, all of the creatures just keep dying to Hellfire Maniacs. He doesn't have dispel, and from where Dhamiria has ~10+ resources, she keeps using her special every turn to discard a spell and add some lower cost creature to the battlefield.

From the point where she gets Might of the Nature, she keeps casting Earthquakes/Insect Swarms that do close to no damage to her creatures. Met like 5-6 Dhamirias, never won a single game, no matter if I play against Slowpoke or Arbiter Lock(usually with Abyssal Lords).

And what kind of Adar-Malik wins against you? Is it the 6-1-4 variant, 5-6-1, 6-4-1 or some other types? If it is the 6-1-4/6-4-1 with Banshees, I understand why he is winning, I don't have that much Banshees though.

Great, after the patch, the game has new bugs(How shocking, ISN'T IT!?)...

Played against slowpoke Dhamiria, whenever Week of Austerity was in play(just 1), I payed extra for the Creatures, and took 1 damage.
With 1 Week of Austerity, my Soul-Consuming Lich cost 5 resources and I took 1 damage, and my Lamasu wasted 4 resources and I also took one damage...

@Dave_Jame, I don't want to harp on it, but my probabilities as I mentioned are for getting a card type, not a specific card.

Your reasoning of 1.25% getting a common card you want is wrong because there are for instance more common creature cards (34) than common event cards (5) so the probabilities are different statistically.
You would not take 100, you would use the number of type of card and work it in the chance of NOT getting it and then minus it from 1 to get the chance of getting it. And you wouldn't ADD each increment you would MULTIPLY:

So for common creature from base set:

Common creatures = 34.
Total common cards = 80.
80 - 34 = 46.
8 chances in pack.
46/80 * 46/79 * 46/78 * 46/77 * 46/76 * 46/75 * 46/74 * 46/73 = 0.017%
1 - 0.017 = 98.3%.
98.3% chance of opening a pack and getting a common creature card.

Yes, commons and uncommons, who cares. It's more to tell yourself the probability of getting a rare/epic or even hero that is important.
