Mod: Conquistador
CONQUISTADOR (203 kb)
Contains 2 previously made mods: "Better AI", "Find me" + a new mod, "Builder".
Conquistador mod is optimal for random maps game (single or MP), all mods inside are optional and will not conflict with WoG mod.
BETTER AI:
* Gives 30k gold on first day to every AI.
* Set all obelisks to "visited" for every AI.
* AI movement will increase daily by half tile, but no more than 40-60 tiles (4000-6000 mvm points), depending on the difficulty selected. Late recruited AI heroes will start with the bonus, to help leveling faster
* AI heroes are marked, human can't hire them if dead.
* Every day 1 of the week, it places extra creatures in all built dwellings, builds guild up to 2nd level and first three upgraded dwellings in all AI towns (if not build yet). Extra resources too.
* Every AI hero gains a random +1 stat every day and a bonus to his overall experience of 10%-40% (depending on difficulty selected), until level 50. He is given Air, Earth, Archery, Intelligence and Resistance at expert level, all his mana is refueled daily too. He also receives slow, haste and shield.
* At level 15/25 an AI hero is automatically granted with town portal. At 50-60 with Fly.
* All junk AI creatures (joiners etc) are removed from AI garrisons on every day 1.
* Every town AI conquers will be changed to its faction type.
* Altair of transformation was disabled for AI, having negative impact on his expansion.
* Every day 1 of the week, every AI player having at least one level 15 hero is given a chance* (depends on the number of AI players in the game) to expand by receiving a free town, randomly picked from available neutral towns. Human player will receive a warning message and a view over the new town acquired:
One AI player: 100% chance
Two AI players: 50% chance
Three AI players: 33% chance
Four AI players: 25% chance
And so on.
WARNING: Better AI is VERY hard on maps < than XL or XXL.
FIND ME:
First option:
Enter type then subtype to find all corresponding objects that are within your faction sight.
For subtype you have two options:
* Enter the subtype (for example specific mines, artefacts or towns)
* Leave empty (will be considered as -1 and will process any object of that type)
Example:
Type 98, subtype 2, will show all towers within sight
Type 98, no subtype entered, will show all towns within sight
Second option:
Enter type then subtype (leave empty for any) to find all corresponding objects that are outside your faction sight.
Each object uncovered will require a 1000 gold fee, satellites are expensive
Third option:
Activate ID search: right-click on any object to find type/subtype.
Fourth option:
Deactivate ID search.
Fifth option:
FIND ME was combined with mines status mod also. It will show all your mines and if upgraded or not.
Sixth option:
ADVANCED SEARCH:
(will locate various objects if not visited yet)
* Obelisks
* Utopias
* Creature banks
* Not flagged mines
* Not flagged creature dwellings
* Emerald towers
* Death chambers
* Artefacts
* Enemy Heroes in sight
* Neutral towns
BUILDER:
After x battles (all your heroes counted) you will be offered the option of building a town of your choice, if there are less than 48 towns already on map. After building new town, battles counter will be reset and start again.

Great mods as always . Wow, better AI looks really tough, isn't it a bit too overpowered? It will surely by a great challenge, but I believe it's impossible on small maps.

As specified, don't use Better AI on smaller than XL, you will be crushed without mercy. But Builder mod will help to put a decent fight against, depending on your battle counter settings.

Aren't they much better as single mods that can be dealt with separately in Mod Manager? I see no relevance or context for them to be a single mod. Now when you update them it will be the update of this pack...
And I can't remember Builder as a solo mod, is there a link to it?

Builder is new-made it yesterday. As I received complaints that Better AI is way too hard, I decided to add to it two mods which will help dealing with boosted AI.

Sal if it's not too much trouble, can you also upload a stand-alone version of the builder mod? Where does it exactly place the new town, do you choose the area on the map, what if there's no free space?

Artu, all three mods are optional, install conquistador and disable better ai and find me, you will get only builder. But builder without Better AI will make the game too easy, I think.
Of course, when you build town, it asks you to choose location and type, then checks if the square is ok. Set battles counter to 1, win once and you will get a new town, just to see.

I want to keep Better AI and Find Me as separate mods in the manager, didn't like the idea of them packed. Nevermind, guess I'll manage to separate it myself when I switch to Windows.(That's why I didn't test it myself yet)

Noob question:
How shoud i use builder mod?
There is any other reguirement?
I mean I introduced low values only to taste it, but after I did them I get stuck.
I can't build, after I chose a town and click ok buttom it simply closes.
Is it normal?

When it closes, your mouse cursor changes to town icon. Click now on the square you want to build the town on.

Then I don't know, it is set to change and it changes, need a second tester.
@Edit: Hmm, looks like HD mod blocks cursor change, but if you click on map it will build town.

Nice.
Is it possible to activate/inactivate each individual "Better AI" feature through 0 & 1 or something?
"Find Me" could work good as a building structure (one time use? monthly use?) for heroes to visit too.

I second that. Find Me would be a lovely building if turned into a mod like Smuggler's Hideout that works on random maps.

Better AI has easier values if game difficulty is lower, AI heroes will move less, and will have less creatures. "Find me" is useful for me as it is, I hate scrolling XL maps to find this or that, now one click. It does not make much sense to me when you need to find not visited structure or such, to first search another object, lose time to visit it etc. But anyone can modify it to his taste.

Is it my imagination or Better AI playability highly depend your oportunities to find a lot of battles in a short period of time.
I think that if map is poor un attackable objects and doesn't have guards on mines, you will never get a chance against Better AI, most of all, if the maps is big enough for you to take forever to be on the other level and one of the AI players overcomes the others, there.
Right?

Does one have to have WOG installed to be able to use Find Me? If so, does anybody know of such a mod that works without WOG? I've never tried WOG. Still having lots of fun with "original" game (with HD mod's QOL upgrades). If I need WOG for Find Me, is there a way to have WOG in place without it actually changing anything? Like infrastructure in place, but all options turned off/original?

No, SoD/H3 complete editions can't be modded, except changes to text files, creature stats, cost etc. If you find a way, let us know.
WoG/Era is flexible: if you turn off all options, you get SoD game-play with slightly modified interface graphics. A mod like conquistador will work that way if you disable all options. Moreover, if you know how to combine mods, a mod like SoD for Era will restore original interface graphics.
