I actually thought that the entire show would fall flat after he passed away, but they carried on with full steam. Afterall Monty said so himself that
I couldn't agree more, I've never held to the notion that death is the end, just an end, but this gives me hope that my existence will have some lasting effect.
Personally though, I've not really noticed the extent his death affected the production and development, Rin's character suffered to some extent, but apart from that most of the impact is probably behind the scenes. In terms of the show that is, he will be sorely missed always loved readin his tweets, almost feels weird that someone is suddenly just gone with no return (used to people leavin me and probably never going to see them again, but to have it as a certainty is disheartening).

V4's pacing is so damn slow, the whole season feels like a build-up for the next one.

It's because of the multiple pov since the RWBY gang split. Not that great with short episodes either.
EDIT:
And that was it for season 4?! For real? Wow, I'm quite amazed how little has happened. They didn't live up to the hype of season 3, that's for sure.

Yeah... I defended them when the season started slowly, because they had to follow several different storylines and reacquaint us with how things are, but having a whole season that is basically a build-up for season 5 is... disappointing.

I've been watching the marathon reruns of all the seasons thus far live on twitch, quite something to see other people empathizing during certain moments, it's definitely enhancing the experience. Also good for remembering the plot and getting ready for the new season.

Lol I remember when Raven literally had like 15s screen time and I was already in love with the hoe (though I was expecting someone a little more aged, she looks as young as her damn daughter lol).

This looks interesting. I'm still bummed over the latest season though, such a bad pacing. Before that I was excited, now all I have is lukewarm feelings. I have come to believe that there was a lot more to Monty than just sweet animations.

I better see some better character development or I might not watch all season. Yet oddly I got a bit excited again for the series.

Alright, watched the first episode. I'm unsure about it, seems like it lacks that special something. It's not full of joy and random fun anymore and it's not as thrilling as the 3rd season either. Just a simple moving on from season 4.

It's not about wasting time for plot, they had plot every season. It's just that the way it was exposed gradually changed. And it kinda makes sense, because now the characters are confronted with a side of the world that they've never seen before. And as a viewer, it feels like I'm asked to empathize and accept that change, but I just can't give it to them. What made me like Rwby was season 1 and 2, not 4 or 5. The universe now feels like it's taking itself way too seriously. No random fun, no goofing around in a happy-go-lucky way, no jokes or witty comebacks. It's all politics, gloom, foreshadowing and a feeling of confrontation at every corner. It sucks, even though it makes sense story-wise. I'm still following, just without the interest or excitement from before.

Monty was too good at his job. I agree about the above but in light of the previous season, I do not mind this one.
Btw the fox guy fails as a rogue ^^ Backstab fail and what the hell was that dive?
