I'm pretty satisfied with the townscreen in game, except the wolves dwelling, it looks a bit weird.
I love the look of this and I wouldn't listen to much to some of the criticism. It's Transylvania, vampires and Vlad the Impaler!
It's a scarry place and I feel that the citizens bolt up their windows each night!
The only part that needs to be brushed up are the town buildings to better fit with the ground (always difficult) Try to add some brush that would easily fit with the ground like bushes, grass, etc on the sides of the buildings.
The Castles look perfect now I think.
The biggest problem with the wolf dwelling is that it is barely noticable. Put some wolves around it

I decided to go with a night scenery for the town, the gloomy and sad atmosphere wasn't very good and didn't left room for more colors. I could have used the daylight scenery, but it wouldn't fit with the undead troops (Vampires hate sunlight ) So here is it:
Should I put on some lights like below? Or keep it like it is? What do you think?

I hope converting them to 8-bit indexed won't screw the townscreen Fixed the lighting, added lights and shadows

The castle finally looks as native on the night background! Yet, a selection of careful Photoshop fixes could make it even better.

The houses in front (the half circle), I would reduce the light reflected. Somehow, from such low level buildings I expect the activity inside less important. But keep backup, not sure.

See the light from the Town Hall? That's perfect. Reduce the glow from the other ones too and it'll look very nice. You don't expect the lighting from houses like that to be from 100W neons, they must be weak and tend to orange-red, like light from a fire source.

How about now? I also decided to switch the positions of some buildings (mage guild, vampire dwelling)

some of the highlighting is wrong. consider the angles that the light would hit, as they wouldn't hit in spots away from the moon, but on surfaces towards it.
the light coming from the cottage on the left has the same issue. but you really are getting the hang of night scenes, lw.

The light from the city hall houses looks good now. But you need to work more on the tavern and the castle. And it might be better if not all houses and windows are lighted, it'd feel more right that way.

Impressive how Your city developped.I'll keep looking for further development.Still I think the lights in the big building in lower left are somewhat unnatural/too strong.Anyway good job
