BlizzCon 2013
It's BlizzCon this weekend!
And that means major announcements from Blizzard!
I'll keep you updated.
Reaper of Souls
We'll get more previews, a Q&A aswell as panels about the Crusader class, other new features and intro cinematic.
Starcraft 2
This year, Starcraft seens to be more focused around the existing HotS e-sport. There is a single point in the schelude about Starcraft 2 and it is likely that we will get a glimpse of Legacy of the Void, the Protoss expansion, but nothing major.
Heroes of the Storm
Formerly planned as a Starcraft 2 arcade map named Blizzard DOTA then All-Stars, this is now turning into a full out stand-alone game. We'll see the map, which is likely to be more streamlined and simplified than the competitors, heroes (from Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft) and live matches.
Heartstone
There will be a single panel about Heartstone and while it is unlikely that we will get an announced expansion pack, as the game is in beta, we should expect to see a release date. Blizzard has previously stated that the goal for Heartstone release is late 2013 and the game is essentially in an open beta.
Warcraft Movie
Director Duncan Jones (Moon etc.) is joining a panel, presentation and for the first time, public preview, of the Warcraft movie. The plot is rumored to either be based around Arthas story in Warcraft III, or perhaps more likely if linked to the next WoW expansion, the novel The Last Guardian and the events surrounding the First War and Warcraft 1, when the Orcs first invaded Azeroth.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor
Blizzard has trademarked this name in several countries now and there has been a lot of speculation and supposed leaks about this new expansion. One possibility is that we will find other remnants of Draenor, similar to Outland. Another, and the prime target of supposed leaks, is that WoD is set in the past. We're going back in time to before the Orcs were corrupted and their planet Draenor shattered. Time travel has been hinted in the most recent WoW patch with the introduction of the Timeless Isle. Thus far, this is the most credible leak as it was quickly deleted by Blizzard. Keep in mind that it is entirely possible Blizzard did that to divert attention:
Quote: No new class or races.
All of this is pre demon blood so no humans with the draenei being the main Alliance force. Garrosh goes back in time and stops his father from drinking the demons blood and Gul'dan is banished. He brings technology from the current time to reinforce the Horde. Ner'zhul uses this and rises to power once more to try and gain Garrosh's trust in the....Iron Horde. The Iron Horde forbids demon magic but it's pretty likely Gul'dan may end up summoning the Legion still even on his own. We get there via the Timewalkers.
I dunno how exactly Garrosh gets to the past yet. But his escape is explained in a upcoming short story with the start being his trial. Garrosh says he regrets nothing while laughing crazily but Anduin still believes he can be redeemed. Baine wants to personally execute Garrosh and Jaina is still her raging self. Eventually it comes to that scene we see in that Timeless Isle quest with Anduin talking to Garrosh. I dunno the rest of the story yet but it's likely Anduin and Zaela help Garrosh escape.
5.5 was to be 2 scenario's showing Garrosh's escape but since they are short on time 5.5 was scrapped for the above story with maybe parts ending up in 6.0. It was also to tie into the Timeless Isle. The ORIGINAL story for the expansion was that Garrosh was banished to Outland but managed to get a artifact of Nozdormu. He used the artifact to summon the great heroes of the Horde and then 're makes' Draenor with the artifact pulling in new landmasses that just tears things up more. This was later scrapped for time travel.
The Alliance start in Shadowmoon and their capital is Karabor which is similar to Terokkar now. Karabor looks like how it does in the TBC trailer with Akama but brighter. The Horde starting zone is a new zone west of Blade's Edge in the Frost Wolf Homelands where their capital is a captured Ogre stronghold city. The zone itself is a tundra.
Netherstorm is Faralon but will be released in a future patch.
Hellfire is a jungle where Garrosh is constructing the Dark Portal so he can invade Azeroth and 'make things right'. Zangar is a sea full of giant mushrooms.
Shattrath is taken over by the Iron Horde and is a raid along with Auchindoun being a dungeon/raid. The other raids are The Blackrock Clan Citadel and a Ogre Stronghold.
The first dungeon is in the Horde starting zone and is a Ogre Dungeon Cave where we rescue slaves.
The zone south of Terrokkar is the capital of the Arrakoa and is where their palace is located. It's like Terokkar but has a LOT more tree houses and flying Arrakoa. Maybe they end up doing something with their Old God.
There's some new tiger race as well but no details.
The Iron Horde has dominated the Gronn and uses them as giant siege mounts similar to the mammoths in LotR.
The 'Warlords' are all the chieftains of the old Horde with Durotan being the only good guy. Some of the main heroes of the expansion are Velen (dunno if its Velen meeting himself or just past Velen), Maarad, Vol'jin, Thrall, Durotan, and some dwarf and tauren.
There's a continent southwest of Draenor which is the homeland of the Ogres.

I don't know how much of the leaked content will end in the game, but could be a lot of new stuff. Seems a very Diablo-focused Blizzcon with 5 panels...
I don't expect a 2nd class though, not very optimistic in that regard

Ye, with only 1 panel it looks like they're pushing LotV to 2015 if they aren't preparing sth big for the expansion I'll be dissapointed (both WoL and HotS already took too much time)
Still, they could release a cinematic/trailer just like they did in 2011

I still think it's too late for them to enter this market, but I guess we'll have to give them the benefit of the doubt and see the annoucement before judging.

Yup, release date is expected.

I swear they also registered the name "The Dark Below" a few months ago

Doubt Reaper of Souls will have two classes. A class is one of the main selling points of a Diablo expansion. From a business perspective it doesn't really make sense to have more than one in a single expansion.
The Dark Below was fake. Another guy also registered a fake name "World of Warcraft: Corgi's Unleashed". What makes Warlords of Draenor credible is that we have had numerous of leaks, seemingly from different sources, pointing at it before it was trademarked and it has been trademarked in several different countries, not just one.
I personally really hope Blizzard doesn't try time travel and that we will go to another piece of Draenor instead. There's a risk that it will be to much of a rehash of the Burning Crusade. Take BC zones like Nagrand, Zangarmarsh and Terokkar. How would those look different in the past?

Yes it was.
It also had a snowload of features that were carried over to Diablo 2.
But got that right about Blizzard nowadays. They don't like innovation.

I'm mostly interested in the movie. Maybe, for the first time ever, we will get a good fantasy (or any genre) movie based on a video game. I'm really looking forward to it because Blizzard is taking this seriously. Although it changed a bit now, Blizzard was always a symbol of professionalism (their games are really top-notch), so I hope the movie will be a work of art.
Besides that, nothing interests me, maybe Legacy of the Void, but it will take long for them to release it. I dream of Warcraft IV, but I seriously doubt they'll make it, because times have changed and now strategy games are not so popular like MOBA and such...

What I would LOVE is a Warcraft RPG like Mass Effect or Skyrim. Mass Effect/Dragon Age-style would probably work better as an open world would have to be limited in scope (its unfeasible to make all of Azeroth open-world).

True sad story. Warcraft IV would be so great, not only by itself but because it could also serve as competence for the StarCraft II team/game.

It seems that we won't get anything about Legacy of the Void, a bit disappointing but if we take into account that Heart of the Swarm wasn't out even for a year, it is reasonable.
Still, they will talk about improvements in terms of multiplayer gameplay and balance and some other features, so I am looking forward to it.

This is what I expected (and feared...). With quite a lot of mistery around the patch 2.1, they better bring some interesting features
I still can see a short LotV cinematic on the opening ceremony though
