They made a CGI trailer for Heroes of the Storm. And showed some gameplay. The graphics are amazing. It looks like Warcraft 4. It's clear they intend it to be a blockbuster game.

okay the expansion looks AMAZING and might actually make me play WoW again
- Insta-boost to lvl 90 to start expansion content right away.
- Seven new zones at release.
- Level cap raised to 100!
- New player models that look amazing!
- WoW players have always wanted player housing. Now we're getting something even more awesome. PLAYER BASES! You'll be able to build and upgrade a base anywhere across Draenor. The base will be inhabited by NPC:s you recruit to do stuff for you. You can invite your friends to it.
It's like SimCity mixed with Warcraft 4. In WoW!

WoW is at 7,7 million subscribers so I doubt we'll stop getting new content through expansions. Also there's reasons behind them introducing a feature to instantly boost a character to lvl 90.
I loved Burning Crusade so it will be amazing to return to a new, original interpretation of that world. I have not played WoW since WotLK but given what is shown so far, I'm seriously considering resubbing. Maybe I'll have to delay my college studies a bit. x)

____________
So the WoW movie will be Orcs vs Humans (or more like Warcraft II). That's not a bad thing, they've gotta start from somewhere, though I've hoped that they would've based it on Warcraft's III story (Arthas story or sth like that). I understand that they've got to appeal to a broader audience, and that it would be hard to squeeze so much material into one film, but that's not what I've been expecting. I like the expression on how the film will look like (or what they are trying to achieve at least) in terms of effects: "It's like Avatar meets Game of Thrones in terms of complexity". And the fact that they want to appeal to fans of both fractions, and thus are trying not to make a traditional Good (Humans) vs Bad (Orcs) plot. Oh and also: PG-13 rating
It starts filming in 2014 and they are targeting a December 2015 release. But remember, it's Blizzard we're talking about here, so: "Soon. All rights reserved"
That would make it Warcraft 1, not 2. Tides of darkness is about the dimension travel plot and the forming of the alliance. Not Orcs vs. Humans.

Orcs and Humans, Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal would make an amazing trilogy. I'm really excited for it. There's so many great people working on it. Like the special effects director was on the Life of Pi. What saddens me is that we didn't get to see the ComicCon conceptual teaser.

Well it's of a hybrid actually, those are the words of Blizzard people: "As far as plot, the film will be the "origin story" about the "first contact" between Orcs and Humans, and will include characters Lothar and Durotan from Warcraft 2."
So in the end this Blizzcon was Heroes of the Storm and very little more.
Yes, there was WoW expansion announcement (how surprising ), WoW film, HS going to ipad and android, and thats all. Nothing new for DIII and nothing about SC2...
____________
And yes this years Blizzcon was not that exciting. 3/4 things were already known, they've only added some more info.
BTW it's funny how they already make events (like live duels) from games that hadn't been officially released (Hearthstone). Blizzard has become sooo commercial in the past few years...
yea, I saw. But I was still very surprised with this official announcement. Because for me this warcraft movie was more like an urban legend.. People talk about it since...?
