kipshasz said:I don't support this junta that is in charge of Ukraine and are snowing her people in the bloody arse right now, so I must be pro russian! flawless logic, makes perfect sense.
While we're at it we should arrest everyone who's wearing telnyashkas as well. clearly they are spies and experts in diversions.
Just stop spreading proRU propaganda; this will be very good help for UKR.
You're saying being a nationalist is a bad thing. Turned out great for Italy, untill they allied themselves with Herr Hitler who was nothing more than an easily manipulated snow.
Also, yea, Ihor is right at one point, pensions aren't cut down in half. yet. it's one of those requirements for that huge loan the junta is expecting to get from the IMF.
legally speaking Yanukovych is still the president. any lawyer can tell you that, and you can read that yourself in the constitution of Ukraine, which should be avaivable online. president loses power only by resignation or death before the end of the term. neither had happened. if he wasn't such a brickheaded idiot, none of this would've happened. but hey, novyje ruski for the win.

Brennus, are you just a troll hanging around? Please read the constitution Kip tells you of. It's an absurd, but Yanukovitch is still the president because he did not die or was impeached by the parliament, which are the only two cases the president can be changed legally. The fact that the EU supports the new Ukrainian government does not make it constitutionally correct.
And yeah, opinion differing from yours is of course a propaganda. Perfect demagogy with no arguments.
He was impeached. The parliament including the Party of Regions voted to kick him off. Then they elected a new government.
Well I'm not sure if the party voted for it but like 100 of its members who left the party did. So it's not as "illegal" as some think. It was a pretty well executed coup. Some wheels were greased, others were threatened with sledgehammers and there you go.
edit: What probably is illegal (not sure) is the appointment of the new president. Usually the vice president should take over until elections.
edit: Omg! Lol.
They did this very nicely actually.
So I was a bit wrong.
Oleksandr Turchynov was first elected by the new parliamentary majority as the chairman of the parliament. Then Yanukovich was impeached with like 4 votes above the level required. Then Oleksandr Turchynov was elected president per default because the constitution says it should be the speaker of the house (lol! see?).
Now the funniest thing:
HE REMAINS THE SPEAKER of the house.
But get this:
The president can't adress the parliament according to the constitution.
But he can now xD
Because he is also the speaker of the house.
Haha this government is a circus xD - very smart circus ____________
also, I've read somewhere that they tried to assassinate yanukovych while he tried to flee the country.
yea, it is really well executed coup. Soon more loose ends will be silenced permanently. that hardcore activist dude from Pravi Sektor who got popped was only the beginning.
and that so called "saboteur" who got busted recently. is this for real? no such person would actually reveal who's side they're on. most have suicide pills and similiar crap.
This could mean that the junta is trying to provoke the big dumb ruskies into a conflict.

Did I say already in this thread what words LEGAL and LEGITIMATE are for sure the most common words here that mean NOTHING? I guess yes.
The statement that he is legitimate is very doubting. Here are some interesting notes:
1) As Aron mentioned apart from death and resignation there is a procedure of impeachment. Rada "impeached" him, but actually with breaking of the law, cause the procedure of impeachment also contains stages like investigation in Supreme Court and Constitutional Court and Rada should have voted 3 times for impeachment. Obviously this is time consuming and Rada broke the law, but does that make Yanukovych still legitimate? Maybe, but doubting.
2) Do you know that Yanukovych was elected for Constitution 2004? Then after a year in power his puppet Constitional Court canceled Rada's decision from 2004 and reverted Constition to 1996. Constitutional Court broke the Constition (funny, huh?) because it is not a law-making organ. It should've asked Rada to vote to revert, which was not done. So Yanukovych gang just started ruling as it was Constition 1996. Does that make him legitimate president? In fact the question if he is legal is back from 2011 year.
3) Even if we take into the account that Yanukovych reverted the Constition somehow "legally", then by 1996 Constition his presidency should have ended on the 5th year of his president. Let's count 2010 - first year, 2011 - second, 2012 - third, 2013 - fourth. Voila his presidency should have ended in March of 2014! But what he did? During that decision to revert the Constituion they accepted transitional notes, which say that this article about 5th year will taken into account only after next presidential elections, while transitional president should still have his presidency by Constition-2004 to 2015 year. To be short, he simply stole 1 more year of being presidency, using one Constitution where is better for President's powers and another Constitution for President's time on the post. How is that legal?
That is a very funny question and I wouldn't say in your place that Yanukovych is legal president and all the lawyers agree with that.
honestly, you'd be done the same. I'd be done the same. everyone would be done the same.
Still, I want the best seats to watch that junta go down in flames, just like they overthrow yanukovych who was a no better little greedy basterd, using you, brainwashed people who hoped for a brighter tommorow, essentially turning you into a band of bandits, looters and murderers. good job lynching those poor cops.
the stuff will repeat itself, once they start meeting the demands of IMF to get the loan. I guarantee it.
but to speak, Ukraine is more democratic than Lithuania right now. recently a man got arrested because he served in the USSR army and drove a tank in January 13, 1991. Also, there are witnesses who heard that one of our top politicians shouted out to the parliament window "there must be victims".
Now If you all gentlemen excuse I'll wait for the turncloak KGB grunts to pack me up and send me in the slammer for what I just posted about January 13, 1991.

Imo actually the laws weren't too bad. They just weren't fully followed.
I guess what is lacking is a law saying that the president can't also be the speaker of the house.
Imagine this exchange:
MP: I object, mr speaker of the house, the president can't voice his opinion on this!
Speaker of the House: I concur, you are correct. Now the president will adress the parliament as the speaker of the house.
@Kip
You are very pessimistic about the future of Ukraine. We evolve and eventually we will elect someone who deserves to be on that place. And judge on the actions, your critics is not constructive. Like "oh my gosh, they cut pensions", you can propose a better solution if you have. You're saying that they are worse than Yanukovych, but that is just your opinion, you have nothing to confirm your words.
I'm ussually right about this kind of things. You kicked out pro russian oligarch puppet, and got installed pro western oligarch puppets. in my opinion nothing changed.
just like our liberal-socdem-conservatives. but their transitions aren't as vioent, and any protesting is quelled immediatly by using tear gas and rubber bullets.

I'm pessimistic about everyones future... Except like Iceland. Iceland should become h4x0r haven of cyberpunks and mega fish industries like in that movie...Existenz.
Iceland is one of my "emergency" destinations if crap is going to hit the fan hard here. I hope I don't need to go anywhere.
We also didn't put the right people there, now we have a bunch of retards running the country down the crapper.

The Swiss don't like many immigrants, passed a law regarding that issue not a while ago. not really sure what it regards exactly, but even the fat retards at Brussels threatened sanctions on them.
Are there any polar bears in Iceland? But I do know how to fish, and guys there really know how to deal with the fat basterds that are running amok everywhere.
