Horrible rolls for for me this time. Oh well.

Okay, survival isn't totally bad, but could have definitely been better.
EDIT: I did put a skill point into crafting during level up so I could make my own darts, to replace the ones I lose. I've never bothered with crafting, even in other games. How would I go about this?

Well you do have to chose which kind of items you want skill crafting (in this case, weapons). After that, it just takes rolling against a DC based on the item you are crafting, and then there is a bit of stuff based on the item's price in silver to see how much progress you make on your project. You can check the specific details [url=http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/craft]here, but basically if you roll at least a 9 (the minimum DC necessary for making any simple throwing weapons), then you will make ~2 darts every day for a week, with 1 extra dart every 5 more you succeed the check by.

Also, since I feel I should wait for you guys to post IC before I reveal what's making this noise, I'll just say what your checks revealed here.

You don't really know if this is a natural sound or not (though you are rather certain it is not an animal), but you notice that the hair on the back of your wrists is rising ever so slightly, and that your beard behind your mask crackles in a minute, almost imperceptible manner. Whatever this is is making some kind of electricity in the air, though it only feels like minor static over all. Your sense of hearing also tells you that whatever this is, it is not moving in any manner.

Your experience with magic and the unnatural gives you a little more insight into what might be resting within here, though without entering the valley you can't quite pinpoint the exact cause. Whatever is making this noise is not an animal or outsider, but rather some kind of construct... though which plane it is associated with exactly currently eludes you. If you had to guess it would be the plane of Air or the plane of Fire, but knowing this place it could just be something unique to the Void itself.
You also realize that you could totally scrounge up some berries to your right, if you really wanted to. Other than that, your survival skills don't offer you any real insights.
Feather
Your survival skills, on the other hand, give you a little more insight into the situation. From what you can tell from how the plants have grown unmolested, and the lack of tracks from and kinds of wild life despite the torrential downpour last night making this earth soft, no animal life has been through this area for at least one week. Birds do not seem to have any trouble with flying over this valley or in between the trees though, and small insects are hard at work doing their best to repair what was damaged, so this place isn't entirely dead.
