The more vibrant colors are definitely less "realistic". But more HoMM-ish.

Are those quotations for sarcasm? Cause the real world is really f'n vibrant unlike the standard gray smudge.

The only thing one could wonder if these vibrant colors could slow down the game. I doubt such a thing would occur, though.

Why would that be? Instead of the game telling your graphics card to "paint dull brown and green" it gets told "paint vibrant brown and green" instead .

I don't know, everything can happen. But I can agree it is much better than colors being variations of grey.

Multiplayer via LAN is still unplayable for me. Constant 'out of sync' popups and Game freezes if one of the players presses a button for End Turn...
Sad.

Constantly? I think that maaaaaybe happened to me today (i mean, im not sire if that was the reason of the crash) but it was after an 8 hrs or so game session while loading Dungeon 3 map. But its the first time it happens and i only have 4 gbs.

That's a quote from the AI man himself so hopefully that answers that. A little more detail on the second point. Essentially all units work out what is best for them as an individual, rather than what would be best for the entire army so this is why you can see a weaker unit blocking a better unit perhaps. It's always being worked on however.
That is rather disappointing to hear as it's basically the biggest problem with the AI. And related to that, how is the hero AI? Will it start using actually useful spells/actions? It often uses completely useless spells and that is partly(I assume) because it can't assess the big picture for other unit-turns.
And should we expect adventure map AI to actually do more than just mindlessly run around?
Edit: Have you fixed the AI target priorities? It seems to absolutely love killing stacks with size of "1" over just damaging "real" stacks.
Yes there have been massive AI improvements in our first support patch. Stuff like addressing this AI target priority and not overkilling stacks has been fixed/improved. This goes hand in hand with providing great value on spells/actions as well. So all in all the AI has been massively tightened up.
As for Adventure map AI It really shouldn't be running around mindlessly as it always has a bunch of processes it can do, which it then values to what would be it's most optimal move. I tell you what I can do, I'll ask one of our AI programmers to pop by and see if he can clear some things up in this regard.
Can someone please explain to me why its so difficult for you guys to make a challenging AI? I look at every other Heroes games and the AI was so much better, and some of those games came out 20 years ago. Why now in H7 is it such a disaster?

Vayaron and Malwen kinda remind me of a pompous, non-romantic version of the Joker and Harley Quinn. Their voice tones may have to do with it. Poor Malwen tho.

Love it But maybe that's a bit too much. Still, I'd take it over original colours any day of the week.
Too bad we cannot isolate the portraits, that purple turban stands out.

I actually hadnt noticed how washed out the colors looled until those pics. Frankly i dont mind but if RE5 is any indication, there should be a way to ramp up the colors of the game without affecting the UI.
Did anyone try the method by meddling the game files posted in the previous page?

Sorry but I agree withe 3lion here, in this case, the new version is just horrible. It looks technicolour in the worst sense. The image someone made from the Haven map a few pages back was pretty good, however.

On that screenshot I just enabled vibrant colors on 100%. You can adjust saturation in increments of 1%. I'm sure there is middle ground where colors are not washed out and turban isn't technicolor
I can make more color conservative screenshot when I get back from work later today, but I'm sure someone with more experience in graphic design can pinpoint sweet spot much easier.
Anyway it would be much better if developers can finally understand that such small tweaks produces great results. I hope that gomaki can talk some sense into them regarding colors and unit sizes.

If people can provide me with some stellar color examples of what they would like to see in heroes it will really help my pitch on getting something changed. Are you using the editor to change the color or a 3rd party program? If the editor what settings did you change specifically so we can reproduce it at work.
I'll ask Layn to monitor this part of the thread as she is possibly someone who could start checking out some changes.
Again this is all off our own back, maybe nothing happens, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up in a feedback meeting at the end of the day and if it looks better and it's something we can viably do, why not.

I was using third party program called Reshade and its library called MasterEffect. Few pages back I wrote what I did to make that screenshot. I will make 10 new shots with 10% increments in saturation so people can see and say what looks best.

I tried to change ini file but game immediately recognized that it was altered and wouldn't start. I tried it only once so I'm not sure if there is workaround.
