so it's just come out that Vivendi is starting a hostile takeover of Ubisoft and the CEO is absolutely *****ing himself, saying they have to start making original and memorable gaming experiences again or the axe will fall,
hopefully that rules out Team Erwin and their toxic lack of vision for Might and Magic in Ubisoft's future plans lol

Sorry, if you're in the stockmarket, you're not independent. You are dependent on your shareholders and therefore, liable to get faced by a majority shareholder. Vivendi apparently feels this is a viable position to invest in.

That would be a first. How many franchises haven't they ground to powder by cutting corners in sequels?

I thought Ubi just kept adding a bunch of unnecessary corners in their sequels while removing the filling?

There are cases of companies that have signed an anti-buyout deals but I'm not sure if they exist in the French law. Capcom had signed such a deal and it expired nearly a year ago, what created a major buzz in Megaman-related communities, as there was a hope that Nintendo would buy Capcom. As mentioned earlier - this applies to a company quoted on Nikkei and French law may not allow for such a practice.

That's what I meant. They cut the corners, kept those and removed the center .

[quote name=JollyJokerAnd meanwhile, in the depths of the underground left empty by the leaving Dark Elves, a new threat takes shape: the REAL Dungeon, a collection of unspeakable abominations born from underground dragon crystal veins and elemental comfluxes, led by the Dungeon Overlords... and so on.
That's nice...but Dungeon has never been about "unspeakable abominations" lol, ironically that's the theme the Faceless and Striders are supposed to bring up. And you're gonna gonna replace the dark elven overlords with human overlords? How creative lol.

Dude, learn about the past! Dungeon Might hero is the Overlord in H3 (and Warlock is Magic hero). And Dungeon hs traditionally been a place whre "unspeakable abomination, that is, horrific monsters lure, like Minotaurs, Hydras, Dragons Griffins, Centaurs, Medusas, Beholders, Manticores and so on, that is mythological MONSTERS (or abominations).

Didn't help me at all.
Tried file verification. Helped? Nope.
Tried reinstalling. Helped? Nope.
I'm still unable to load any of my saves. Honestly I'm very tolerant to buggy products. Just to say that to me Homm6 was fine as well as other really buggy games of the past like Sacred but Homm7 brought it to another level. I'm pretty sure I had more Homm7 crashes in a month than all other games I have played n ~22 years of gaming lol.

That's an unrelated issue, more on the side of save/load corruption. For me RAM consumption got a lot better. I'm month 3 on a large map and the game runs on 4.5 GB when it usually got to about 7 GB by this time before. It may be that some issues still exist tho, so I'll keep an eye on it regardless.

Well, I do agree that it could be just the thing to change how Ubisoft operates, from greedy to customer friendly company.
But, I doubt that will work. For a company that exists for nearly 30 years, the founders have certainly experience to think of actions to dismiss such offers, right?

Good news. A hostile take over can only mean that future Ubisoft games will either be as snowty or better.

hmm interesting. i'm playing on laptop with 8gb ram and a crappy 2gb nvidia. no lags, it plays nice but when i minimize (actually ctrl+alt+del -> task manager)i saw 5-6 gbs being consumed. i will try again today. and monitor it.
[update]
i monitored my game and it's stable at 6 gb while playing. i will lower video settings in case they mess with ram consumption, and take it from there. anyone else wants to share his/her ram consumption?

Hey quick question for you guys, so I am still experiencing many of the bugs that were listed as fixed in patch 1.2. i.e. Damage over time from units, vampire/hydra life drain, angels resurrection and so fourth. I sent in a bug report to ubi technical support and they said that they are fixed and I have to reinstall the game. I'm hesitant to because it takes many hours to download. Just wondering if any of you have done this and it fixed all those bugs that are suppose to be fixed. Thanks
