No. I had to download 13.41G to install the english version from scratch.
With or without the patches? That's a freaking good reason to not even start the game!
And assuming something happened to your pc and you had to reinstall, would you even consider dling again that huge first day patch and the other 4-5 3GB patches?

I started Unity yesterday... And get tired after 10 same battles with neutrals.
Skirmish mode is much better

That's not entirely fair, Verriker. Blob refers to the awful state of the game as it was released in and then these reskins without serious alterations to the base game ... Erwin was talking about the base game here.

Why Steam can have 2.1 GB patch but Uplay always need to have larger one (3.44 GB in this case)?
Needless to say that having 200+ MB maps was very good idea, especially when you release new campaign, which have several of them.

Did anyone try the Editor, yet?
Now that the only real changes in patch 1.7 can truly be felt at the Main menu of the game, it only made it more confusing than before.
Did not make another Editor made RMG map ever since last month of last year. Hint: A tiny map always = Small map with only 2 players. Will put 2 neutral territories in between the human and AI players.

static (!) promo-renders (!!) were used by ubi... not even scaled (if I'm not mistaken H4 sprites were pretty large to begin with) H4 in-game sprites

don't you see how Ubisoft used renders of H4 structures for their "recreation". This renders were created as promotional materials for HoMM4 back in it's days. The irony is that sprites which H4 uses and contains in resources are animated and big enough to be used with H7.

UBI owns rights on HMM4 graphics and used it as placeholder in early screens. Now ingame there are no such dwellings.
PS Necro townscreen is relatively bad itself - some dwellings are very very small, and they are all placed in the middle with no system at all

I think that's from Marzhin's old livestream. They probably changed models.

Agreed, the world feels so much more interesting. They even wrote about a naga without having to clarify that it is half human and half snake created by wizards.
If they just could have reskinned the units/heroes, alterd the skillwheel, spiced up the hero specializations (and so on) i just might had seen a glimmer of hope. This campaign feels lika a Frankenstein creation. Sewn together by dead parts and brought to life as an abomination.

If they somehow make this game playable and enjoyable, expansion should be about Axeoth. Hope Terry Ray will write new stories
Heroes IV isn't my favorite game, but campaigns are the best.

Here's the temple of the damned directly from h4 and in original size. It's not that big, but the angle is a lot better.
