It was said by the very man who's on your avatar ;-) Now ofc, you're free to believe him or not, but look, after H6 we get Legacy, DoC, Heroes Online and H7. Yeah, unbelievable as it is, such things would not be possible if H6 was a market disaster.

@fuChris MFW Heroes 6 sold more than 5.
And about Necropolis being timeless, I dunno. It already feels old.

During various interviews on Igromir. To me personally at least.
And btw, it recieved 8/10 on IGN and Editors's Choice, citing "addictive turn-based strategy" gameplay and "major improvements to a fantastic formula".
And again - we have 4 (!!!) games after H6. AND even 2 DLC and an add-on. That's commercial win for sure.
The thing that many here don't understand and was said even during H5 era is that we, forum people, are a VERY little percent of Heroes gamers. Like 5 or 9, I don't remember for sure.
Even HC is nothing compared to the overall pool of players in terms of quantity.

ah, but you see Jon Van Caneghem actually works for my sister's cousin's uncle's dog and he told me H3 sold better than H4 and H6 combined,
I wish I could supply a link with some credible proof but oh well
as for citing IGN and then expecting me to take you seriously, all I can say to that is a big old lol

Although I do not consider Heroes VI a complete abomination, information that it sold better than Heroes V makes a small piece of me die. Well, it had quite extensive adverising campaign, I guess...

Because they're all unified under one brand. That's why there're no more Heroes of Might and Magic but M&M: Heroes.
Verriker, as I said, you're free to believe it or not, it's not my problems buddy ;-) I think even if I bring Erwan himself you'll still not believe in it

As said as it is, for more than 50% pretty picture and singleplayer are more important.
And I guess that partly H6's success owes to the brand. People see Heroes, people buy Heroes.

It would be neat if there would be comparison of H6 sales and H6-Fifty Shades of Purple. That could, potentially, show if players were disappointed with H6.
In my case, I own only the vanilla game, and I'm still sorry for spending the money on it.

8 legs plus fangs and some weird spikes on the head.
see the small "arms" next to the head? yeah, it ain't got those and all spiders have 'em. usually smaller, but always visible. used for holding prey and they are a lot less scary without them.
nitpicking, yes, but this kind of stuff really annoys me. if you're gonna add a spider, do it right.
edit: rename it "death tick"?

But you spent money. That's the point: sales don't care if you disliked the game after buying it.
About spiders - look at the shadows at the picture. It's definitely 8-legged.

Yeah, I spent . That is why I would like to see the comparison, as it would show (potential) disappointment. IMO, sales of Vanilla game show nothing

I'll wait till they reveal the rest of the units, but so far it does not look promising. Re-used models is an exaggeration. Skellie and Ghost are practically faithful copies (repainted in purple) of H6 ones...
PS: And their excuse for this (those 3 "reasons" in the introduction) is laughable at most...

I actually would concede the point without any further argument if you have some evidence,
I don't just accept hearsay from a random biased member as fact though sorry lol
looking at Black Hole's testimony that H6 didn't sell 2 million copies, how cheap those spinoffs you mentioned actually are, and Heroes 7 now cutting every corner in the graphics, it's not easy to believe they actually earned a decent budget

Look for the light purple limbs next to its eyes. Aren't these their "arms"?

Quite lame so far. I hope Elite and Champion creatures set things right. So far this is just H6 reskin with exception of spiders.

Uhm what?
While there are noteable similarities, they are quite different.
They have differently designed shoulder armor, different helmet and obviously different weapons/colours.
also ghost is in no way purple at all...
