They definitelly looked better than generic juggernauts, which was yet another demon with horns and hoofs.
Uh, have you SEEN the original H3 Inferno? That was nothing BUT red horned humanoids...
In any case, I see your point about it seeming more like an otherworldly monstrosity. As much as I like the Pit Lord and Succubus, the Juggernaut does feel uninspired. Don't mind the Demented, though, if mainly because it looks like the demonic mixture of Voldo and Kratos.

Speaking of Elites, hopefully they reverted vampires back to that oldschool nosferatu look. And not yet another " baron " with long white hair and grey face.

Doubtful. H6 is the current standard, and since they're keeping to H6's lore, vampires age backwards and get prettier as they get older. That's why Anastasya retains her youthful appearance.
EDIT: Here's the actual fluff text:
When a Vampire reaches complete mastery over his new powers, he starts to age backwards, looking one year younger with each new century of unlife. He is now greeted as a Vampire Lord, and joins the ruling council of the Necromancers.
Besides, I like the H6 vampires.

As I said previously, the majority wants familiar gameplay, pretty visuals and good singleplayer. It's sad thing indeed, and I totally agree that good sales don't make H6 into great game, but I've seen people who seriously claimed that H6 is the best Heroes.
Also, remember the timespan before H6's actual release, even here, on HC. Many of the forum members were quite positive towards it. The despair (most of it) came AFTER buying this game.
Even during the beta test everyone was like "hell, it's just beta, they'll fix it in the final version".
Indeed, I would say that the M&M team is blessed to have people such as Marzhin, Erwan (yes-yes, believe it or not), the whole Limbic crew who actually care about the M&M series. Many others would've just followed the market's call and made H6 2.0. And you know what? Most certainly such a game too would become a commercial success.
Legacy, for example, was heavily pushed by Marzhin, and what helped that project was the release of Grimrock and it's success.
I, for instance, separated M&M team from Ubi as a company (which handles business deals) long ago.
EDIT:
Speaking about vampires.
There is a possibility to get "monster" vampire. For example, we have Fleshbane from DoC - he ended up as a freak with scaring humanoid body on 4 spider legs. And it's said that many of those who participate to the ritual to become Vampires fail and become psychic or physical freaks.
Now, I don't know what's better - Vampire Knights or "Namtaru" Vampires...

Vampires are big candidates of reusing their H6 model, so don't set your hopes too high...what the Hell, don't set ANY hope at all 
I also prefer the older look

God, I wish I wouldn't have looked - the necro creatures look awful, imo - like HoMM 4 Infernopolis. Mix between Dungeon and Necro. Skeleton is completely overdone - I mean, it's a SKELETON, not some remains of a Pharao's bodygard contingent.
The Ghost is kind of a foggy Rorschach picture, and the Spider looks like a crab.
HoMM 6 cores look WAY better and that can't be good. *Shudder*

Maybe, just maybe, we'll get something like that. It was said in DoC that many end like him (or vice versa, after becoming Vampires turn to psychopaths).

and I'd say you should probably be further separating Marzhin, who ostensibly cares about the MM series, from Erwan and the Ashan team, who care about Ashan
doubt anyone else in Ubi has even finished one of the MM RPG games lol

I find it surprising that it took Giant Spiders so long to become a part of HoMM series. As one of the most iconic fantasy creatures they should've been present since HoMM 1.
Ghost/Banshee is quite a disappointment.
Skeleton could lost some of his "bling-blings".
Spider - need more info, but so far it's intriguing. I hope it will be able to climb walls during the siege.
Can't wait to see Elites and Champions.
I hope to see Lammasu back, as well as Mummies. Vampire could be merged with Dark Knight and "promoted" to Champion  .
