Now I wonder how they'll explain a Minotaur sorcerer as a Hero.
Minotaurs are only slaves in Soulscar clan, so there is no big problem with letting tchem be leaders of army.

this is either before the minotaurs were slaves or an snow who managed to grace himself with his overlords (or ladies) to the point he earned his freedom.

Bio time!
From H3:
Darkstorn challenged his way through the ranks of warriors of Nighon, secretly using magic to ensure he won each battle.
Once in a position of power, he finally revealed his true powers.
None have challenged him since.
From H4:
Darkstorm has proven time and again that any who challenge him meet a quick end.
He continues to be a dangerous and powerful presence in this new world where his reputation precedes him
like the dark clouds before a thunderstorm.
Expect the H7 bio to be at least thrice as long, describing how DarkStorm's really just misunderstood.

I always hated that in H3 he was called Darkstorn and in H4 Darkstorm. Same thing with Moandor and Moander.

Spider Cult Town and Setting
Yeah... I kind of guesssed when they introduced this Necorpolis as "The city of the Spider Cult" that it may account mainly for the religious zealots amounst the necromancers, and not say the pragmatists, scientists, power hungry, and other subtypes.
Also I think Marzhin may have gave away some details about when the Necro campaign will take place. Spider Cult at its most powerful, I suspect that is war of the Broken Staff time, though it could also be just before or during the purge of the necromancers.

Truth be told I prefer 'Darkstorn'.
Darkstorm sounds too much like a WoW character surname.
And yes, I'm aware that 'torn' is a word.

I also prefer H3 variants. Similar thing happened in Ashan (but due to all of the retcons it is just a minor thing): Sylath became Ylath.

Or a "thorn" maybe?
I wonder how a Minotaur rises in the ranks of Purple Dungeon... Maybe he makes something to "impress" his mistresses, for instance by using his long, big... horns... in a fight that is!

If he is a normal recruitable hero I would guess not.

I hope he doesn't have a unique model, and that there are other minotaur heroes who aren't cloned in from the old games
might be too much to ask for in this climate though lol

Expect the H7 bio to be at least thrice as long, describing how DarkStorm's really just misunderstood.
From H7:
Darkstorms' real name has been shrouded in the same dark clouds as his nickname suggests. As a Minotaur, Darkstorm's life has not been an easy one. When he was just a young calf, he lost his parents due to harsh labor at the hands of Dark Elf slavers. It sent him into a brooding, depressive mood.
Those who saw him soon came up with a nickname for him, Darkstorm, and he liked that name so much, that he adopted it and stopped using his own given name, a name that reminded him too much of the people that put him onto Ashan.
The clouds seemed to persist and rather than weigh him down, they've been giving him strength. His rage has been legendary, trashing his opponents with an unrivaled magical fury, so that many opponents rather go out of his way when he approaches than to face him and his possible wrath.
frostymuaddib said: I always hated that in H3 he was called Darkstorn and in H4 Darkstorm. Same thing with Moandor and Moander.
Wasn't it confirmed somewhere that the name "Darkstorn" was actually a spelling error and that his name was intended to be "Darkstorm" as it was in later installments? It was a typo that was never fixed in Heroes3, I believe.
