Maurice said: Darkstorms' real name has been shrouded in the same dark clouds as his nickname suggests. As a Minotaur, Darkstorm's life has not been an easy one. When he was just a young calf, he lost his parents due to harsh labor at the hands of Dark Elf slavers. It sent him into a brooding, depressive mood.
Those who saw him soon came up with a nickname for him, Darkstorm, and he liked that name so much, that he adopted it and stopped using his own given name, a name that reminded him too much of the people that put him onto Ashan.
The clouds seemed to persist and rather than weigh him down, they've been giving him strength. His rage has been legendary, trashing his opponents with an unrivaled magical fury, so that many opponents rather go out of his way when he approaches than to face him and his possible wrath.
Quote: Wasn't it confirmed somewhere that the name "Darkstorn" was actually a spelling error and that his name was intended to be "Darkstorm" as it was in later installments? It was a typo that was never fixed in Heroes3, I believe.
At lot of things seemingly changed after that blinding flash incident.
Kyrre's gender ambiguity and Rissa & Annavanta's name exchange comes to mind.

Now I wonder how they'll explain a Minotaur sorcerer as a Hero.
he knows magic and has good charisma. bada-bing-bada-boom, explained like a boss.
then i remembered this is Ashan and they'll need some ridiculous ten page unnecessary reason that makes no sense.
then i cried.

The founders of the Dark Elf nation have made a pact with Malassa, the Dragon Goddess of Darkness. One of the consequences is that all Dark Elves are imprinted by Malassa’s mark and constantly forced to hear the constant whispers carried away by the shadows.
(...)
Young Dark Elves who demonstrate this gift are selected for the priesthood. Taken from their families as children, they are raised in the temples of Malassa as seekers of forbidden lore and masters of Dark Magic. They grow up utterly dedicated, utterly loyal and utterly fanatical to the aims of the Dragon of Darkness. Those who rise to the highest ranks undergo a secret ritual that lets them commune with Malassa, making them capable of dreamwalking. When the ritual is complete, their eyes become black and pupiless, and they never blink again.
Perhaps Darkstorm is a Minotaur with Malassa's mark who's undergone the priesthood ritual?

Wouldn't that be one big pupil instead of pupil-less..?

I'm not sure about that, can't remember. I do remember that in H4 order campaign, Solmyr was calles Solymr, so I always considered H3 as correct one.

This is exactly what I meant. And the fact that we haven't seen that many Heroes that are not part of the "leading" race. Humans always had humans, elves always had elves, delvs always delvs, etc. There was a thread about how Heroes 3 had more variety in Hero races whereas in Ashan there's just one prevalent race for each faction. Maybe they're gonna change that, with Darkstorm being among the first exceptions.

I think we are jumping to conclusions here. H7 isn't even out yet. I think that developers start a new project when the one they just did gets published, or it changed while I wasn't looking. It would be foolish and stupid to do 2 heroes games at the same time. If H6 was not that successful, and H7 is becoming H6.5, why would they start making H8 now? Shouldn't they pour that money into H7 so that fans can be satisfied regarding the town screens, models and what else not? Wasting money on starting new projects while the current one is not finished, or half finished, or even not good enough is really a bad move.

For your entertainment, take a look at this:
https://mmh7.ubi.com/en/blog/post/view/a-message-from-the-mmh7-team
And see how everyone's dearly beloved Galaad, HC Supporter, is behaving.
I wonder if he really is as old as he claims to be. What he's showing over there does not correspond to someone his age, unless said age is around 14 rather than 28.
Is there a room left in Arkham, perhaps?

Oooh, I remember this scepticism about Heroes 7 http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=40211&PID=1219902#focus, but formaly you absolutely right, just conclusions.
