Lol, no, no, you obviously got the wrong idea of what I was expressing. But that doesn't matter either way. Discussing H7 these days is like discussing politics.

Apparently he's named after a real person, and the writer was adamant that it was spelled that way.
We had a lot of discussions about the correct spelling of his name, which in turn became a sort of private joke in his bio. But yeah, that bit is probably too silly and is likely to be removed before release.

@Marzhin, can you tell us where're those bios set chronologically - in 853 YSD or at the time of the Haven campaign? Something tells me it's the latter, but it would be good to clarify.
!!! Possible SPOILER ALERT!!!
Haven's story may be about how Hammerfall acqiured independence/set between 1st and 2nd Eclipse, or else Tyris bio makes little sense.

It depends of the story they appear in

Oh gosh, not again...
It's very counterintuitive I should say, better set all of them in one-timeline imho.

In skirmish and multiplayer maps, is that such an issue?
In campaign mode, of course only the heroes relevant to the era will appear.

No such, except if we'll got issues like Maeve. I remember that it irked even those people unfamiliar with the lore - such unlogical and counterintuitive that was.

lol, but that's nothing new, I mean the Heroes Chronicles had heroes from H3 running around hundreds of years in the past
even Shadow of Death and Heroes 4 put the Kreegans in maps where they were supposed to be extinct on the planet, IIRC
no need to change the rules of the game just because a hero technically isn't supposed to be there, suspend your disbelief lol

Oh, you again...
Do I need to tell you that I deem those things as counterintuitive too?
+ Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't SoD set before RoE thus making the appearance of Kreegans totally possible?
Who told to change the rules? I say change the bios. Because when you're, for example, playing as a idiotess queen Isabel and suddenly recruit former emress from a tavern... yes, I say it's very awkward.
That's why my issue is almost gone now that Marzhin confirmed that in campaigns Heroes will be set as they should.
Please, next time read carefully ^^

As proven in the past, balancing specializations is a nightmare. I for one support having specializations that give a small, fixed bonus, that has an impact in early game but becomes less important as the game goes on. Enough to make each hero special.
The Skill System and the Spell System should be the main source of replayability.

yea it's me again indeed, don't worry I'll dedicate my whole lunch break to studying your next post lol
seriously though,
if the game is going to take place in like five or six different eras I don't see them writing that many bios per hero, and banning certain heroes does alter the rules of the game lol (except in Heroes 4 where there are infinite hires and no specialties)
not to defend Ubi lol, just saying I really don't think it's worth caring about the out of place heroes
Quote: + Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't SoD set before RoE thus making the appearance of Kreegans totally possible?
the Gem campaign starts one year after Archibald is defeated IIRC, which is like a whole decade before the Kreegans arrive

Indeed, SoD is about how RoE started and begins 10 years before RoE and ends nearly at its start. The Kreegan arrvies on Enroth 3 years before RoE/MM6 and their present in last secret SoD campaign is totally posibble lore wise.
However they are not present in Heroes Chronicles: Conquest of the Underworld - Inferno from this game are real demons but graphics and heroes are reused (as you don't create new faction for DLC ).

How?^^ It just reduces the amount of tavern Heroes. Please don't tell me that with caravans you'll want to hire all of them (likely 12 per faction).
verriker said: the Gem campaign starts one year after Archibald is defeated IIRC, which is like a whole decade before the Kreegans arrive
But the "Spectre of Power" definitely takes place after their coming, 'cos Sandro struck a deal with Xenofex.
But ok, the appearance of Devils is a very subtle one and those who didn't play RPG won't even notice.
