While I doubt this is true...Maybe Stronghold is changing some of their creature abilities. The crusher shared the golem's ability and the cyclops sharing the Swordmaster's (and rakasha and bladedancer) ability, which makes both of those units really boing imo.

I think the level 30 cap is ridiculous. It is very hard when making a map to deal with it. I want to add more and more fights but the stupid cap is limiting me and I have to check every time if the hero reaches it because it is not fun to reach it when you have more battles. What is their problem with the cap as the exp needed grows exponentially anyway.
We have to voice ourselves to remove it.

Speaking of which - "it's to early to tell about Map Editor" (or something like that). I hope everyone remember what H7 devs told us many times about skill system until it was "too late now".

Game looks nice, runs smoothly (on a good comp, that is) - H3 feel.
Those maps are quite small, they will have to add content to the beta, or people will get bored. The maps don't look like you can reach the level cap, so there will be no discussion on that topic
The flanking system really looks stupid, making those creatures spin like crazy ... fortunately they say they already nerfed it, removing a no-retal bonus. If they must keep it, I'd advocate to restrict it to attacking exactly from behind, so it requires at least some skill in placement. A bonus that only occurs in some 1/5 of all attacks would be reasonable and tactical.

Also, noticed the "Week of Enlistment: all growth rate of elite creatures is doubled".
Well that's something that can't be ignored...
Also, saw "Week of Gargoyles", the effect, like above, but applies to gargoyles.

That's why flanking annoys me. It is not special, it does not require planning, everyone and his dog can do it.

The AI doesn't cheat. At high levels it gets a starting bonus, but no boni during the game.
If that's true and the AI also becomes a challenge (until release), that would be good news.

Flanking only makes sense if you have a zone-of-control feature that penalizes you from running around a creature to attack from the back-side (offering free attacks if you try to circle a creature unless you have enough movement to do it outside of target reach). If you can just run around and attack from the back at any time, it's just a bad idea.

Hm, saw that Disciples of magic (fire, water etc.) get +6 to magic if casting those spells.
Well, the specializations are bad, but why would I hire a hero when only few spells are affected? At the top of that, we don't know if some have fixed duration or damage.

Marzhin does not like H3 per se, but he prefers H2 as much better game than H3.
Edit. Altough not sure why i defend him when he can do it himself... oh well.

I would like to just point out that Academy Townscreen was reworked just like Haven TS and it looks better, because of that Necropolis might be reworked as well

Obvious, because H2 has more variation in factions (2 factions without flyers!), chaotic upgrades, and so on, ... more fun than H3.
We won't see any of this in H7, because H7 has to please multiplayer.

I have to say that this was by far the BEST adventure map I have seen in a Heroes game. It has the H3 spirit, but at the same time is 3D. For example in H5 there were a lot of things hidden behind trees and mountains and it was really annoying to rotate the camera all the time. In H6 the camera was too close to the groung and it felt like RPG, not a strategy game. But now it is perfect, I hope it stays like this forever. Good job Limbic.
Also - I really like the 2D towns and the fact the we can switch between TS and map sooo fast. This is one of the reasons I prefer 2D towns.
The only problem I saw was the time it took to wait for opponents turn. This can TOTALLY destroy the game and all the good work they have done. I really hope they can fix this!

Didn't they say that they set the AI break manually to 'human' speed, via some game option? They mentioned the fact and suggested that this is not an issue.

Missed the livestream but watching it right now...
Flanking is just as bad as I originally thought but there is no saving that short of cutting it completely. Not being able to control the direction you are facing makes it completely useless tactically.
The adventure map looks bland as hell. Not enough color variations.
Townscreen looks better but a proper 2.5D would be better still. The buildings just melt into the background and don't even get hightlighted when clicking on them.
The building tree is the most boring off all the games sofar. Just horrible.
My biggest gripe sofar(besides flanking) is that the units have really bad hit animations. Thanks to this the battles lack in dynamism. That and the genies, while flying, are upright all the time don't even tilt their bodies. Not even a sway of the shoulders. Same with many others but she is the worst offender(sofar).

I'm seriously disappointed with this stream. About four months left to release. And what is present?.. Broken animations, raw interface, unfinished features / factions. Looks like a browser game. Town screens are still awful and lifeless, new music is worthless synthesizer pieces (excepting operatic vocals). Moreover, adventure map is still filled with buildings and creatures from the sixth instalment. I think this project is going to share its predecessor's fate - tons of bugs, hot-fixes / patches causing new ones, negative community reviews. Hope it's the last "Heroes" title published by "Ubisoft".
