let's wait for this, let's wait for that lol
I don't see why exactly we'd want to hold fire to see something else if the thing we react to and mean to criticise is already available,
it's as nonsensical as saying "well hey, you should really stop complaining, because there's a chance the sequel will be better" (which people actually did during Heroes 5, and look how that went haha)

We haven't seen the townscreen yet. Heroes' design. Only Grim Rider doesn't suit this style imo. Others are straight from H6 anyway

Depends on person really. I remember Erwan was a producer, but now he's the IP-team leader. Marzhin is designer and writer, he's not part of the IP AFAIK. So... technically, Erwan isn't his "boss". Correct me if I'm wrong. Erwan's job now is to ensure that everything fits his world (no blasters etc).

They used the same model for both basic and upgraded version of the Ghost, and I'll buy you a beer if they don't do the same with the elites*.
*not valid if they succumb due to the protests and make whole new models for basic as well.

No, you say the lore came first, and gave them a convenient way to cut cost.
I say it's the other way around. I say they never planned on spending much on Necro and then got the lorebrush to paint over the skinflint.
And Sandro, Erwan is totally Marzhin's boss.

He always was responsible for lore - I still have newsletters from H5 times when Erwan LeBreton and Jeff Spock write about Ashan necromacer or lore:
Quote: The Demon Sovereign, the Prophecy of Sar-Shazzar, and the Dark Messiah
By Jeff Spock, Writer, and Erwan Le Breton, World Coordinator.

Marzhin said: What I could imagine are Shantiri Liches, super-old Undead priests that are actually so old they look like mummified skeletons. But maybe that would be too similar to the Tomb Kings of Warhammer.
In any case if such creatures existed they would be neutrals, not part of the "modern" Necropolis.

Ok let me put it differently. What if I told you that if Ubisoft had all the money in the world and did a remodel for the lich, it would still be non-skeletal? It's not a money problem at core, it's a lore problem. The fact that they ported the model from Heroes 6 was just convenient.

As you can see in HoMM6 or in MM10 or even in HoMM7 lore Anastevia , Ubisoft can change lore, when they want to or need to fix it for their games. Lore is not a big problem (if you have creative writers that is), money are.

Guys, we have some misunderstanding here.
Erwan is certainly behind the lore and everything - that's the IP. He's actually something like a lore keeper (literally), he checks that everything in the game which has connection to the lore fits it and doesn't brake rules.
Marzhin is designer and writer. That's 2 jobs. The first job it to incorporate stories into actual map scenarios (making gameplay walkthough basically) - there IP physically have no authority, it's not their domain.
The second job is writing campaigns. There's a crucial line here - writers and IP are not the same. IP simply "keep things in touch" so that in some campaign there wouldn't be blasters and suchlike. They don't do campaigns, they check them for inconviniencies with Ashan. Now they can't order wtiters to do something, they can only veto stories and/or their elements. Writers, on the other hand, actually create the stories. AFAIK Erwan isn't a writer at all (yes, he created Ashan, but not H6's campaign for example). And Marzhin is a writer, not an IP.
If writers and IP are friendly, they work in harmony and produce good quality stories. If not, than its a mess. They're more a colleagues than bosses. Or like the police and the internal security. Or like prosecutors and judges.
I don't claim this as the absolute truth, but at least this is how it works (should work) theoretically. How it actually works in truth is known only within the team itself.

I know you were talking to Stevie, but personally I want to say I am angry for both. But non-skeletal, Marzhin's Shantiri idea intrigued me.

Except you left two things out of this.
1. Marzhin is allowed to tinker with the IP.
2. As Franchise Manager and Producer, Erwan is totally Marzhin's boss.
