Eh don't care what he is he looks cool and if he has cool mechanics as well then that's a plus in my book. Why does it matter if he is dwarf or not?

Orcs can have children, do Fire Giants can have them too?
Besides Orcs were created as fusion of Humans, Demons and Earth Magic.

Looking at them personally I don't know how they could have children do they even have the parts? I mean they look like to be made of magma rock now can't really make children when you are a magma rock giant.
Honestly going by their description they were turned into instruments of their dragon gods will.

If they can't reproduce because of what they have turned into, it just proves that they aren't Dwarves anymore.

Reminds me of the First Born, from Age of Wonders 1 and 3, Dwarves of fire and fury. Just because the word Dwarf has a meaning, doesnt mean the race of Dwarves cant be big ! Could be all kinds of explanations, could be wearing rune magic to increase his size. Though i'd still of preferred a cannon mounted basilisk as a Champion.

I think what appeals to me the most about a dwarven faction are the rune magic, epic runehammers, defensive adaptability and teamwork. And of course.. things going boom 
I think bears are one of the few plain animal exceptions I would support. They are tenacious, tough and can scare opponents. They fit dwarves perfectly  Though a mammoth unit that demolishes obstacles and rams through opponents would be fun to see.
