Honestly, I don't think that map size was the problem . I think it was H6 gameplay in general: many things that you could do on the map were gone because area of control. Town conversion also ruined the levels, as well as the fact that only onr hero is favourized (your main).

I would go even further than that. What you say is true, but also most of the adventure map objects were either single-use only (like neutral stacks you had to fight for resources or the artifacts and resources themselves), or not interesting enough to go out of your way to revisit the areas in which they are located.

That is also the case.

Just of curiosity - which ones were these or you think were? Also, what did you learn from MMX?

Since I was mostly involved with level design during H6 vanilla, the fact the maps ended up too large (and sometimes boring) are (in part at least) my fault, as I realized it too late.
Also, some of the rules I defined early on (for instance having neutral stacks guarding the junctions between areas) turned out to be not such a good idea. That sort of things.

For MMXL it was less actual lessons than a general gain of experience

I want to second this, not because I played Six but because as a mapmaker I know that not everyone is wanting Duels and that all-told there is a possible majority that just want a great adventure map experience.

For me, H5 was lacking Interactive-Objects, (remember the sparse Snow-objects? or that creature levels 4,5,6 and 7 didn't have unique dwellings?)From a lot of feedback I have read...H6 had even less adv-sites. That's not commitment to quality, that's cheap short-sited creation error. I'm sure you know this Marzhin...it's a no-brainer really; if you have few things to put on a small map, creating larger maps gets progressively more boring up the map scale.
(Remembering H3XL maps now with dozens of the same thing and H3 was far better than what has been done since.) By this late date things should be perfect. (not really but still, "Adventures/Quests" could be in far better shape)

How pathetic everything seems. Im so disappointed about this thread.I thought only in south korea should be heard so many hymns of glory.
ubi should put people to work and finish their job, then the hymns will flow eventually...

hey come on I hate Ubisoft as much as anyone, but let's not be jerks,
this guy is not a shill or a mouthpiece, he does care about the series and earns the praise he gets

If "jerks" means that I don't wanna sing in this thread's chorus a hymn for ubi, then be it! I also hate to see this in here and even North Korea

On the other side, I would like to a hear whoever from ubi that SIM TURNS will be back in game when released; this is what ubi always "forget" to answer directly. Im not here to congrat anyone, as simple as that! And if I can express myself Ill do it as much as I like, no matter few North Koreans among us feel frustrated

There's a difference between not thanking Marzhin and saying everyone's an idiot for doing so.

We're not saying you need to thank him, you're perfectly fine not doing so if you don't want to, all we're saying is to not come here and be a jerk to those that DO feel like thanking him.

As a female gamer myself, its nice to have a well balanced game.  Thank you.

I tried to be constructive and asked for SIM Turns like all tohers do. Still not thanking anyone for anything (especially after a recent history). Not my style till the job finished.

Instead Ill do as Salamandre stated above: "This is why I and many others remain polite and do not visit this thread" elvin the moderator - a modest toher himself long time ago- made it for worship

ps: as for "fling mud" its true: no worship, no hymn equals fling mud...only in north korea may be

After do some digging I found out that you're the one write Sandro in Danse Macabre. I play Danse Macabre first instead of the main campaigns and I'm totally hooked with his story. Which is one of few reasons I don't hate H6 as much as I should.

Well done sir.

Marzhin,

No matter how much I disagreed with you, I shouldn’t have lacked you respect as I did in the H7 discussion thread, and I am sorry for that.

I hope we can get to understand each other better in a foreseeable future.
