Poll Question: What If Sanctuary Looked More Like Snakes?
What if the Nagas looked like this: Of course the lore has to be adjusted to fit their looks. Just add kimonos on them to make them look Japanese.
I never liked H6's Sanctuary. They look too human. Both the men and the women should look something like that. I prefer a little more diversity in the Heroes game but what do you think?

I actually like ubi's design but more snake-like wouldn't be bad at all. What this faction misses however is a proper lizardman.

Compared to that picture the Heroes 6 models are much better lol.
I'm not sure if this thread's legit. I don't see a problem with the Naga designs. Just the water/snow spirits were an issue, but the Kenseis were actually one of the coolest creatures in Sanctuary imo.

I don't think they need to look more snake-like. That's like asking centaurs to look more horse-like. Think of it that way - that nagas are... snakentaurs.

but making Centaurs more horse-like won't differentiate it from the regular horse. This is very different from the regular snake.
Plus, I think people are missing the beauty of this type of Naga. It's not human-looking unlike the one in Sanctuary.
The only human-looking faction other than the humans should be elves and dwarves.

Yes! A horse with arms and abs between its head and legs is very different from a snake with arms and abs between its head and tail!

Also the other kind of elves...
And the orcs...
And a few breeds of demon...
And many forms of undead...
Plus the creations of Academy...
...yeah, um, what's the problem again?

But we have already snake and non-so-human Nagas - Sayama Nagas - which live in many oases across Sahaar Desert and seek Tower of Dreamer:

I agree with these statements. I have advocated the return of a Lizardman (H3 Fortress) faction many, many times. And I'll likely not stop untill we get one.
But I disagree with the sentiment that the Lizardmen should join the Naga in Sanctuary. Swamps, Witchcraft(Voodoo) and Savagery, IMHO miz badly with the Serenity and Shintoistic Composure of Sanctuary.
As for a more snake-like Naga, I'm not certain if we officially know what the 3rd subspecies of Naga looks like, the Lake Naga, but they are, according to the Compendium, the most Snake-like.
But we must keep in mind that Naga are not Beast-men and I think we should not try to make them such.

As I asked Marzhin about this long ago, here is what he knew about them:
Quote: The Ashan Compendium lists the third race as the Lake Nagas: "average in size (measuring around 6 feet tall when coiled, and 10 feet long to the tip of their tail. Their scales are of a pale blue-green colour, with brighter streaks, and their faces are more ophidian than those of the Coral Nagas. They are found in lakes, large rivers, and marshes."
I think Olivier Ledroit's "Naga Geisha" is supposed to be a Lake Naga (although I'll have to ask Erwan for confirmation).
The Shanriya Nagas are just another clan of Nagas, not a separate species.
Here is mentioned Oliver Ledroit's artwork:

That may be the case. But the proof of the pudding is usually in the male of the species. We are all aware of the tendencies in fictional humanoid-species, that the females of the species resemble human women reasonably close, whereas males often hardly resemble humans at all.

Your idea is not bad, and some of it might be a good addition but I like how ubi made their naga. In my opinion, together With the orcs, they are the among the best of their factions.
I had to give "I hate it" due to the way you constructed the pole, but I think if this rather simple image would be re-mmade to fitt the games style it would not look bad at all.

Overall I had no problem with the H6 nagas, although I prefer the ones who had more snake-like features, like the kenshi or some of the naga-heroes.

One thing is sure - bagas have a huge potential as a faction in Heroes games (as presented by DoC), it just has to be used in a right way.
