Interviews
Ok so I just want to know what people think about the interviews because I am disagreeing with Stevie.
Should we show them courtesy like Stevie wants, or should we go straight to the point like I suggest (with cynic humor)?
For example, currently the first question of the interview is
1) Everybody think you are the Devil, but who are you really?
I think this is really BAD question, is flattering etc.
I want to ask:
1) Is it true that you are sexually aroused by spiders?
I don't want to offend you Stevie, but I want an ally here. And I have the impression you are already being trapped.
Wake up!

Just a note, since Galaad decided to do this: the exact formulation of the question right now is "1. I'm sure a lot of people already know who you are, and that many of them consider you to be the Devil himself, but could you still please introduce yourself for those who don't?". This comes after conceding Galaad a lot because he thinks that simply asking him "Could you please introduce yourself?" is me kissing his ass, while I believe is just common courtesy to ask someone to introduce himself when interviewed.
Personally I believe he's taking things too far, but I'll let you guys be the judge of that.

I do think it would be good to show some courtesy, for several reasons. First, it would encourage Ubi to do more stuff like this. You don't wanna project to them, that this was a bad idea. Secondly, I belive we'll get more info from them, if you're polite. I mean just think about it. To get information, best thing is to make them confortable, and maybe they'll be more likely to throw in an extra bone, so to speak. If I would be interviewed, and would be asked something I would deem too ofensive, or that interviewer hates my work, I wouldn't wanna answer more questions out of principle.
That said, it is a good idea too keep "humorous" approach. So I would rephrase that question, to sound more subtle ...

Zombi Wizard, you would be totally right if the person in front of us wouldn't be entirely governed by money. Being polite is the sirup they are selling us to make us shut up.
As if we should be "honored" by the fact we are getting invited lmao
While THEY are usurping Heroes identity.

be harsh, but polite.
always be polite. you can ask difficult questions and try to put on the spot, but please dear god, be polite!
basically, don't ask if Erwan is sexually attracted to spiders. it's a funny in-joke but most definitely not interview material. just no.bring up how most of us feel the spider-theme is going to far but don't try and pull a spider sex-joke on 'em. just don't.

What I think is that Galaad is being a bit obsessed with his opinion. There was a lot of bad things told about Erwan, but never did I notice somebody calling him the devil. You may think you are funny but those who will read it might not be on the same wave as you.
The problem in this statement is, that people who dislike him wouldn't even give him the pleasure of such a high comparison.
If you want to go "all out" on him and be controversial, go direct. Ask him if he thinks that the world he created is on pairs with the old one. If he, in the depths of his heart, believes that he is doing the brand justice with his work. Ask him how they felt when they saw ho H6 was received. Do not attack him. If you do that, you will put yourself in the weaker position. You will be the one who will provoke, who lost his nerves first. Never be that person in a public interview.
Ask question that are direct, strong, and can hold by themselves.

WTF man?! Then don't go. It's not your "duty" to go. They invited you, because they think it would be good idea, to let some more vocal members of comunity try early demo and answer some questions aswell. Ofc you should be honored, by the fact you're invited. Should I be in Ubi's shoes right now, I would cancel your invataiton right here. Not because you're critical towards their product ... but because of that atitude ...

Just remember, even though they might be "governed by money" It is that money that brought you there, that feeds you there and gives you shelter. IDK if you could or could not afford it by yourself or not, but they "can" pull that card on you.
And also you will not be the only one there. There will also be official press representatives and they will not focus as much on these things as you will. They will be there to see the new product, and if they like it, they might see you your pints as weak or un-connected.
Also, what you, or Stevie, or any other community representative (I think Lizard Warrior is going as well) can do, is to talk to these people, try to get their opinions about the game, how did they, people not as familiar with the development as we are, feel about it. There is a difference in what they will write and they think, and you can gather these opinions and publish them on your own.
Edit:
Never forget that you were chosen for beeing one of the most vocal people in the fanbase. It is very easy to change your presence into a joke. Don't lose your guard.

Unfortunately due to some problem with my papers I won't be able to leave the country in time to get to the Fanday Event, but Ubi-Nox promised to sent me a collector edition so I'm fine with that
It's important to be a diplomat and to don't exaggerate, but that doesn't mean the representatives shouldn't ask tricky questions as long as they are formulated into a polite manner. For example:
Why is the spider theme omnipresent in Necropolis since a lot of people gave negative feedback back in H6 days and if they say it's been appreciated elsewhere and only the online communities were negative ask nicely for proof.
Why have they chosen to continue with the dark elf dungeon after the WH lawsuit?
Why does lore have such a great impact on graphics and gameplay (7 magic schools instead of 4, liches design etc) while it had much less impact on previous Heroes (I-V) where they adapted the lore in order to add more creatures/features and not vice versa?
Why are all town screen so similar? It's because they want to save money and time by reusing assets just like they did with Necropolis elite?

Hi, I'm new to the forum though i've been observing for some time now. Galaad asked to share my thoughts. Here is my opinion - I agree with Galaad that somewhere along the path Heroes has lost a bit of the magical atmosphere and immersion feeling. That should be told and very well explained.I will love to get the Heroes feeling back in Heroes. Also about the Paris event - be polite, but sometimes you can use harsh humor - you can show them some funny fan made art (for example Lizzard Warrior's spideropolis) and after the humoristic approach point the main problems. Always keep the normal tone of conversation (they organize the event and you are their special guests).Be more constructive than destructive but do what you must to get their attention to the problem.I think/hope Erwan will listen. I also think you (Galaad, Stevie and Lizzard Warrior) should work as a team - collaborate. Good luck with the campaign !

If you're going to bring emotions with you to that event, I can only tell you this: you're wrong. At least, if you intend to do it as a community service, to be "our" representatives.
You're not going to open that clam with snide and negative remarks and questions. If anything, they will only keep it shut even tighter and might get a bad taste about it to begin with - regardless of how justified you're feeling in all those negative emotions.
Try to be courteous, friendly and objective. Be critical in your questions, but put your emotions on hold for a while. It's the perfect opportunity to ask the things the community wants, instead of the same old superficial questions that game review sites tend to ask over and over again. They will open up a bit more if they're getting a possitive connection with you guys, it's natural. And people who open up are likely to tell a bit more or with a bit more enthousiasm. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, as the saying goes. Be a bro to them, not a bully.
Let's face it, the people who will be organising the event and be present to 'entertain' the guests are people who have invested time and energy in both the event and the product they're presenting. They don't deserve a slap in the face or getting drenched in bile, just because you feel entitled to a self-righteous crusade against what you see as the downfall of the franchise. There are other ways to make that clear to them, outside of the event.
I never thought I would say this, Galaad, but I am quite disappointed in you if you thought to go there, in your full negative attitude, as community representative. I always had you in high esteem from your posts here on the forums, until some people linked to posts on the official Ubisoft forums (which I usually don't visit at all), showing another Galaad, one that I didn't like at all. And now you ask us if you think it's a good idea to continue your crusade in reallife? I'd even say that if you can't leave that particular attitude at the door, that we as a community are better off if you didn't go at all.
