Nah, is not their fault if they think original games are bad and flawed and ugly and they say h3 vampires looks like rabbits. Is because all they know is Ubi-Heroes, they are IMO misguided, I blame no one else than Ubisoft, even if I can loose my nerves down this hellplace named Shadow Council.

I do not deem it right. You can blame them... no one can stop you, but it is beyond me really. They can like and dislike things, but whether such things are well supported or not that is another thing. It is totally possible to hate old games, as much as it is possible to hate new games (graphics, gameplay, lack of knowledge, etc.). If they have that attitude because they have not invested time to discover the past games that had quality, it is their fault, not Ubi's. Hence, your hatred for Ubi is blinding you to see what is not even there. No one is blaming JVC for your hatred of new Heroes games.

There is a misunderstanding here.
What I say is, Ubi created something so different with their version of HOMM that the newer generation of fans dislike the original games (without having even played them), which makes it even harder for the community (us) to plead our cause for the games to retain their former glory -hence gameplay, lore, and visuals.

Not scary, toxic... I do not want to see HC deranged over some petty fights, and biased hatred of which Galaad is an occasional example. As I already asked, do we really need to see this place one step from hell to actually do something?

Listen, I respect and value you as a member of HC who has contributed to this place, hence your third red star and my offer about our cooperation. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with the things you do and how you do. And the recent example of what I mentioned is your opinion that Ubi is to be blamed for the fact that some members do not like old Heroes games. When Ubi messes up, I'm all for their bashing, but I am not for their bashing when it is not their fault, (regardless of how easy it is to put everything in one basket called Ubi).

It's not the Ubifans who can't be civil to NWC fans. It's people like Galaad who can't be civil to Ubifans.
He is the one who cast the first stone. Don't blame us for calling him out.
And if you're going to debate this point... yes, he DID start it. He threw a hissy fit on the blog, you referred to it in this topic, thus becoming a part of the discussion, he responded to people calling him out, and like always, he tried to justify his incivility.

I'm just saying let's get a bit of perspective here, no need to be so overdramatic, even this very forum has seen way waaaay worse angry rant discussions going on, I wonder if you ever heard of the OSM where they used to have these absolutely unreadable discussions called quote wars lol
it's just people being a bit justifiably frustrated on a message board, you can't stop it or even blame it in the circumstances, and I actually don't see very much to complain about here at HC, I think you guys are all dragging the Shadow Council into this and making more of it than it is, it is a different website guys lol
plus try to understand that Galaad only even nukes the Shadow Council to keep Ubisoft on their toes, it is absolutely not personal, it's just the only real way of getting a reaction out of them lol

And notice how EVERY instance of drama starts with a NWC fan? Galaad explodes, Verriker lols at something to provoke them, or even this very topic, borne of an attempt to split the NWC fans and the Ubisoft fans in an effort to prevent drama, despite the proposal being structured in a way that furthers drama.

Verriker, I get what you want to say. I know that some people are really frustrated for some bad decisions made by Ubi, but what benefit do we all gain by spreading this frustration around?
Also, I do not think that we are dragging SC here. I only go there to vote and read articles, and occasionally to read some comments, to gain a gist on people's opinion on various things. I stopped posting a long time ago. I think that it was when I was redrawing Necropolis magic heroes... I cannot speak for others.
I can congratulate Galaad on having iron nerves and great perseverance to continually bomb SC. I'm thankful to him, as he got us new Lich and new Vampire. But what does all that have to do with blaming Ubi for some people's preferences?

At this point I'm not taking sides. I don't care who starts what. The sad truth is that people are bickering (here, on the Shadow Council) while the game presents serious design flaws and it doesn't look like they're going to be fixed.
And let's not forget this is Ubisoft's third attemp on the series, which is already showing signs of decadence and less investment by Ubisoft. The future is by no means bright...

From my perspective "Ashanites" (is that what we're seriously calling people who prefer ubi-heroes? sheesh) tend to be very quick to defend themselves (and the setting/games) from any criticism, violently even. Not very pleasant for anyone. Not everyone however: Dies_Irae makes great posts and doesn't try to insult anyone and is generally pleasant to be around and i always enjoy his/her posts on any subjects, especially when we disagree. Sadly, he/she's rather unique in that and being an "ashanite" at the same time.
Doesn't mean the old-schools are better all the time, but i feel it's easier to have an actual productive discussion there even if some users get a bit... excited sometimes. No names here.
just my two cents. About the thread itself...
I dunno. Franchise has lost it's roots and direction but i don't think it's unsalvageable. It just needs to re-discover not only what made it great in the past, but why that made it great (Hint: it's lineups and atmosphere together with simple yet deep mechanics and heavy focus on chance).
