Val should do an experiment: Seperate the H7 forum from the DB for an amount of time and see the results.

you know, after val switched servers, and added an "hc users can contribute money to keep hc running" feature, shouldn't hc be running faster? what i mean is, why pay for a slower server, when you have users contributing?
forgive me if i'm out of line here, as i don't contribute monetarily myself; because i cannot afford it.

So far I have not been able to identify what is causing these slowdowns so I am reluctantly resorting to the approach of throwing more resources at the problem. I've doubled the RAM on the server. Let's see if this works.
Post here if you are still seeing page generation times of over 10 seconds.
Also, I'm reporting the computer-overloading ad reported by Fred to the ad network. Edit: this banner has been removed from rotation.

seems to be running fine now. maybe it was a peak time of day(a lot of traffic) for activity on the server?
