Valkyries on the other hand can fit the town, they are female aren't they?
And besides, according to Tolkien dwarven women have beards, so you could theoretically have bearded dwarves and still have them female.
Valkyries gender is a pretty central part of their being (women warriors under Odens command bringing worthy soldiers to him) so they pretty much have to. That and they'd overlap way too much with angels if they weren't but follow the curent design. I'd like them riding flying, aurora horses
I'd love to see bearded, female rune priests! That'd be pretty great. I also expect the Fire dragon to not be part of the line-up, partly because we've clearly moved away from dragon champs, partly because Valkyrie champ would be one of the few offensive, fast and flying champs. We really only have the Simurgh so far and that one is more of a magic support unit than a fighter.
I'm kinda torn about it since I really liked the H5 fire dragon. Maybe as a neutral? It's where the gold dragon ended up...

I had really forgotten about the Abbots
Suits me right for thinking humans boring and insignificant...
I don't want to see the Valkyries as champions, not really. And while i also don't like the Dragons of might and magic idea, i can't seem to find something else for champion of Dwarves in Ashan.

Dragon golems? Or something based as giant constructs?

Bearded women. Maybe not...? I have nothing against small, sturdy, female Rune Priests but leave them without beards, okay?
Speaking of swift and agile champions, why not make Thanes such a unit? In Heroes V they had huge speed, very good initiative and were able to teleport. I root for comeback of Thanes and Fire Dragons, as I liked both units and can't imagine Ashan dwarven faction without them.

For one, i think that constructs in general are an Academy trademark, and two, i think we already have enough constructs. 3 in academy, 1 in dungeon, 2 neutrals. Also in Duel of champions Dragon golems are an Academy unit

Ah, but you wanted some technology in dwarves' faction. Besides, you can have something entirely different, like a crystal bot or, considering H7's resources, dragonsteel bot. Not necessarily a golem (humanoid).

It's not "I wanted" , not really, but more "if they should have" something akin a machine of sorts. I think that the shantiri golem or a reskin of it could work also, as well as an obsidian golem or construct of sorts yeah. It could prove to be an interesting idea, should they make it right.

It was a joke considering that middle earth Dwarf women have beards, I actually didn't think they would give them beards in Heroes.

No, please no... no more crossbows, archers and bows with the same abilities but different model. I would prefer it if the rider on the bear was a female dwarf. Though i'd prefer if the bear was without Rider and enhanced with runes and armor to become an elite.

It's the price to pay for a setting with more or less equal technological prowess i guess. But yeah the article says they're into crossbows and ballistas rather than bows. Although i guess we could still get a javalin thrower or an axe thrower.

Dwarves are master smiths, giving them crossbows would be more fitting than bowmen, javelineers or axe throwers, I think.
Seriously, what's to hate in dwarves carrying ballistas? It's freaking epic, now I want... Dwarven ballistaires? How do you call that?
Point is, crossbowmen with giant crossbows, I now want dwarves having the best core archer of all factions.
Combine that with Bear Cavalry and Giants and you have the faction that completely breaks the record in coolness...

I'd really like a battle boar in the elite spot if I had to only pick one I loved them in age of mythology.
I like paweks idea about fire giants being teleporters with no retaliation, kinda like a return of the arch Devils. It would only be cool if they could teleport anywhere though. But this way we can keep magmazilla the way he is.

One thing is sure: Ashan Dwarves are not steampunk / tinker Dwarves like in Warhammer or WarCraft, so they wouldn't have steam tanks or flying machines.
I think there is room for a tech/steampunk faction in Ashan in the form of a reimagined Forge faction in the post-Dark Messiah era, but that's another debate
