Keeps you entertained for HOURS? Really? HOURS?
Wow. That long...
Is that hard to believe?
Read the IGN review, the guy gives the game 6.4/10 but still says that he was entertained enough to play through 50 hours worth of campaign. (Actually this is the only score where the gap between actual criticisms and the final verdict is baffling.)

I am guessing that guy played on Windows 10, which supposedly has the least number of bugs and crashes. But this does not explain the gameplay part well...

So it's the fans fault the game fell flat on it's face?

I'm playing on Windows 7 and besides some ALT+TABing crashes, I haven't suffered anything that broke my game so far. With a work-around suggested by a Limbic dev, I haven't crashed anymore at all.
Also, even if the AI is dumb as a pair of rocks and the bugs I've encountered, I'm also having fun playing the game. In my opinion, it's better than H6. It's absolutely true that it leaves a lot of untapped potential, which is an absolute shame, so it's definately not an AAA title worth 60 Euro's. I'd rank it around a 7.
I was fairly pessimistic after the two beta's, but with the release version my hopes for the future have increased. Looking back at H5's trajectory, I can only hope something similar happens with H7, something that I don't hold for impossible. One of the biggest things that needs to change, though, is the mind set of the development team. As has been detailed in another post by a number of our members, in its current form it tries too hard to be too much, without realising what (and why!) things made previous titles "click".

In my book 50 hours are DAYS, not HOURS. YOu know, HOURS is right behind minutes, so HOURS is - forget it. There is days, weeks, months, years. Hours? Irrelevant.

No it's not, and I'm not really sure he's even saying that. What he says though is, that the game is a sequel for sequel's sake.

That is general trait of Ubi. It is not game-specific.

I checked most reviews and the game seems to be screaming MEDIOCRE at every moment. And - even worse - amateurish. It's like nobody cared, or had money, to make a proper game. Homebrews can be explained, but this?
Ubi should sell the rights to HoMM and just stop embarassing themselves.

This game is horrible, bugged, ugly
I give it 2 out of 10.
All those 5+ scores are blind.

Honestly these reviews making me face palm hard.
Generally goes like this - had fun, good parts, bad parts - I think, score must be good judging from this wall of Text - in the end 50/100. Wat?
Indie games = 80%+ no matter how snowty the game is.
Shooters/dota/survival = 90% + coz they sell and these scores on these games sell too
I know for fact that it's much easier for a small indie to bribe reviewers then for a giant like ubi/ea
Then we go Withcher 3 - 10000000 awards before game released 10/10 etc etc.
Game is great the Witcher 3 I agree but a replay value ? 0.
This is why heroes games forever my most played games - ever.
And you have to actually think to play them.
AoW 3 whilst a nice game.. Narrative is pretty weak and art is average and just not as captivating to me compared to Heroes.
Just played few Heroes VII duels yearsterday and what can I say I was blown away.
Edit:
And then stupid *** people on steam complaining about cutscenes not being animated. Are you even serious. It's a *** strategy game. Why the hell do you even need cutscenes. Story is engaging as is but then some younger kids I guess find it boring to just read or listen stuff. Unless it's edgy and indie like Pillars of a Eternity.
Or stuff like "most bugged release ever". Wow. Heard of batman. Or like every 3 game released on steam.

And about flanking. It's a great great change. People who say it's stupid and just makes u its dance around etc obviously has not played against real human. Just do so and try to flank during a duel or so and enjoy getting destroyed.
