You do realise that you can play the maps out of order, right? Just head back to the Council table and start on the Dungeon campaign, even if you're still on a mission in the Haven campaign (just make sure to finish the map you played latest; head back to the Council table from the end of map victory screen).

Yes, but part of the reason i had an overall good or decent experience with Heroes is that i purposely avoided the stuff that could bug (like savegames and campaign progress) so i prefered to finish campaigns one by one.
I wonder which one was the canon wifey for Ivan. MARZHIN COME HERE

After speaking to either of them and his dialogue, Ivan says that sometimes it's a matter of the heart. He loves the Academy chick, while the Haven chick forms a political marriage. So I'd say the Academy one. I chose the Haven one, though .

Went for Tanis myself. No regrets, her academy army is a breath of fresh air
Assembled the blade and cleared Ivan's name Apparently you can skip the last part and just attack Amilcar. Sadly, I went for the dark hydras before meeting with Seamus and as a result I had a stronger army and wiped the floor with Vayaron - and everyone else afterwards It was a fine map but I'd have enjoyed it more with a better AI and if I'd also known you are supposed to to reach the meeting first. Not that it would have been challenging but that was waste-of-time easy.
And those somewhat strong stacks in the second map are boring me out of my mind. There is zero effort in winning them without casualties but you have to fight more than a few in your turn. Wait, wait, wait, cast spell, attack from behind. Ugh, so boring. Exited the game, I don't have the patience for this.
Neutrals should have been mixed or have less encounters that are actually hard or impossible to beat without casualties. You aren't fighting with just one hero so each turn feels pointlessly long.

So Ivan starts believing he is the chosen one because he has the favour of Elrath and Shalassa. Because.. he listened to all the stories and found the pieces of the blade and.. because he dried up a river. Just lol.

Well, regarding the sword, stuff like that has happened before y'know (Joan of Arc) and unlike her, at least he had to work a bit to get the entire thing.

Just finished the whole campaign last night. Feel a bit sad, since I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the game. Itching now to play some scenarios and skirmish
Was a bit disappointed by the bugs that come and go in patches - had to teleport over the gates to finish Ivan's final mission.
Overall I want to thank the devs for a memorable story with meaningful resolution.
My favourite campaigns plot wise are Ivan's final campaign - for its awesome second mission and not leaving any loose ends, Dungeon campaign for great Dungeon gameplay, strong protagonists and good twists and theme, Academy for adventure type missions - especially mission 3 that dealt with winning princess heart - that thirst for knowledge I could almost feel it!, Sylvan for great adventure overall and interesting characters and Stronghold for true head on Orc gameplay and determined Heroes, and of course last but not least - Haven for a great Game of Thrones vibe!! Yes that's right I named all campaigns as my favourite and it's truly how I feel.
Some missions were too easy, some bugged. Lack of bosses also saddened me a bit, but overall the Campaign was a blast and I'm a bit sad to see it finish.

So where would you rank those campaigns compared to previous Heroes? That is, ignoring bugs and imbalances that might be resolved in upcoming patches.

This is actually a hard question. I have never seriously played any Heroes campaigns until H5(I dubbled a bit in H4 and know a bit of story and lore of earlier Heroes).
So saying that, out of three games - Heroes 5, 6 and 7 this campaign is definately the most memorable. I found the Heroes 5 campaign silly and disjointed, and it tried too hard to be grinmdark for my taste(demon rape of a princess bride, seriously?..) . I did finish TotE campaign and found it ok.
Heroes 6 had too much drama and too complex plot lines for its good. I loved the boss battles and twists but the whole story was over the top. Heroes 7 for me is high fantasy enough and dark and serious just enough, so apart from missing bosses and campaign only creatures it is great.
Although I wish more was done about involvement of Sylvan and Dungeon in the final Ivan campaign although I understand the lore reasons for lack of it.

Could be that the vanilla issues detracted from my experience but I did not find the campaigns and characters very memorable. There are some bright exceptions here and there but overall rather meh. I just didn't like mission design or how ridiculously easy most maps were. The characters were not particularly developed either, they did not interact much with each other, there was not much tension or levity or anything really. I did not read Ivan's backstory in the SC so it feels like a lot is missing from the whole picture. Couldn't they have at least made a tutorial map to develop his character if only a little bit? To know who is this guy and why I should care whether he gets the throne or not? I didn't even know what kind of guy Seamus was or whether he wouldn't be a better candidate for the throne. Is he fair? Is he cruel? Is he a conniving snow? I wouldn't know, so the whole thing felt weak.
Tote campaigns were likable. I don't remember much about Gotai but Arantir and Zehir campaigns were good fun and above all, presented some challenge. I hate pushover campaigns.
Btw how did you teleport over the gates in Ivan's final mission?

I found it challenging in some ways - I liked stealth elements in some missions, liked timed challenge of Academy 3, liked the underground warfare of Dungeon and strong stacks and battles on different fronts of Ivan 2. The only campaign I found to be too easy is Necro, especially Necro 5 was just a walk in the park. Half of Stronghold also felt like a tutorial.
I teleported using the cheat engine activated just for that and disabled it right after. Then also watched a missing cutscene which should trigger when you defeat Wilheilm. It is in the game files.

That's just the thing I need! I'd rather finish the campaign than wait for it to get fixed. How do you open the cheat console?

Not even that saves the day. I defeat Saemus and the quest is never completed, probably because it requires the other quests to be complete? Freaking scripts.
That said, the discovery of the cheat console is invaluable for my heroes experience. Tried sylvan campaign with boosted movement and I can't believe I have tolerated that tiny 22 movement all this time.. Can you believe that cheats are required to enjoy the game?

I did try the win button but then nothing happens. No cutscenes or dialogue boxes, just a return to the council. Next patch

So pissed that we had to choose between Dungeon and Inferno!!!!!!
Dungeon is the best in H7. Loved the story and characters. Didn't care for the creatures tough tbh, Trackers, Medusas and Minotaurs are pretty good, but the rest are not so good.
The endings for both Dungeon and Necro are pretty good. The scheme masters prevailed...
