I hope it will finally be better than Civ4. I've played that game ragged by now. Still can't properly beat it on Deity.
Those screenshots are however not so impressive. Or maybe they are just unnecessarily zoomed in.
Anyways I just hope it runs faster than Civ5 and does not waste so much resources.

Yeah, the screenshots, in my opinion, were not jaw dropping. Hopefully it is just perspective.

I'm actually speechless. Everything seems amazing, the trailer, the changes, the screenshots. I want the game to be the same way.
Please be amazing, Civ VI!

What?! Are you joking? I fell absolutely in love with the artistic style and the graphics in those screenshots. There's such a playful vibe I'm getting from them, it's just perfect.
Also, can you see the cliffs along the sea? Judging from that you won't be able to embark anywhere you might want. Seems interesting for gameplay.
Damn, I'm fangirling already. KYYYAAAA!!!!!! <3

That playful vibe makes it look like a mobile game. A pretty extremely detailed game but still, these kind of cartoony graphics were the problem for many people with H5.

They'd better bring back unit stacking, at least as a toggleable option. Otherwise, I'm not interested, and I loved Civ 3 and 4.

I'm in partial disagreement here. True enough that mobile and online games have this more bright atmosphere with their graphics, but so are games like Warcraft, Empire Total War and Age of Empires online. And really, it's in no way a leap big enough in art style like Heroes 5's was compared to it's predecessors, which I personally didn't mind that much (only to some extent). All in all I think it's fitting, and I'm sure it'll get improved upon because some of those textures seem to be pre-alpha.

That trailer said absolutely nothing about the game itself... Wasn't that impressive either. The announcement is enough for millions of incoming views, I guess.
Still hyped though I guess. Even if it's 1½ year left.

My problem with the cartonish style is that armies are unreadable on adventure map. I would prefer cartonish style for armies then a much smoother design for map objects.

This is a good article, if you want information about the new game features revealed so far:

Thanks. Seems interesting. Too much of a long wait time to get hyped for it personally, I guess.
Why didn't they include all this, or at least some of it, in the trailer?! Makes no sense to me. Ah well, can't complain, there's a new civ game coming. Heard that they were gonna include most of the main mechanics from Civ V with the launch, preventing the sudden loss of 100000 factions and 100000000 core features. Might actually pre-order later it if it's true

I'm pretty happy with the map and artistic direction. Looks like Civ4 to me which was visually appealing. Civ5 tried to look more mature and looked bland and depressing to me (the map, I mean). I missed the colors of Civ4. Glad to see them back.
I like the new features too.
GOSH, 2016 spoils us. So many cool games lately.

I'm not fan of the art-style, but not like graphics is why I ever played the series. It's just the first impression I get from the screen-shots that makes me fear they follow h5 and try to simplify the game(rather than stream-line).
I just hope they manage to bring back some of the complexity h4 offered. The diplomacy and politics of h5 were... plain to put it mildly in comparison to h4. I will be so mad if all the alliances, map trading, tech trading and such are missing. I'm quite sad that there won't be unit stacking like h4, but I have no doubt it's at least better than the simplistic single military unit per square system h5 had

If there's one thing I really don't miss, then it's technology trading. Map trading - I guess that would be ok, although it did make exploration less essential.

Exploration has always been kind of boring after the first 10-15 turns in civilization games. Technology trading was kind of broken in civ 4 as well, being isolated kind of ruined the game against the AI. At least to me. (perhaps I'm just bad ) I found civ 5 to be a great game after they polished it with the expansions, much like how civ 4 turned out to be after its expansions. Both were kind of meh at launch, which, sadly, most games are nowadays. Wonder what IGN will give this game`on release, even if core features are missing? 10/10?
They can improve diplomacy a lot though. Hopefully they'll put some time into the launch, as they claimed to be doing

Another new article with some more info here. They seem really conscious about the issues Civ5 had at release in terms of (lack of) content and poor AI, so I guess that's a good sign. Time will show whether they pull a UbiSoft or actually deliver.
