Poll Question: Best starting hero for 1v7 challenge
Hey there guys,
If there's one thing I know about myself is that I don't even come close to being a decent H3 player, but still, I decided to take on 7 AI's teamed up against me on a randomly generated map, just for the fun of it and to put myself to the test. Now, because my play skills leave a lot to be desired, I decided to first attempt this challenge the cheap way, that is, by picking Necropolis as the starting town, with plans of raising a legion of skeletons in mind. But there's a decision to make. I figured it would be most sensible to pick either Galthran or Vidomina as starting heroes, but I couldn't decide which is the best. So I thought we could give it a discuss here. Which one would you choose? (Poll below.)
Of course, one could say that ultimately it comes down to whether we want a might or a magic hero, but there's more to it than that. One thing is to consider the early game. Which speciality do you think is better in the early stages? But then again, the hero speciality can also play a huge role in the early game. Late game though, well, I'm not sure, both specialities are capped at some point, so I think Galthran is the one that benefits more.
I've always considered magic to be better than might, in this particular case though, it might just be the other way around. At the end of the day, the question is: do we want quality or quantity? Vidomina's special ability will allow for a huge stack of skeletons, but without any particular bonus, while Galthran may not be able to harvest that many skellies, but they get tougher and tougher as they level up. And because he too has Necromancy, I think we can maintain a constantly (though not that quickly) growing stack that eventually becomes invincible because of the ridiculous skill bonuses. So therefore, I'm thinking Galthran might just be the better choice, but then again, he's a might hero, so what do you think of all these?
Any comments, viewpoints, thoughts are appreciated, any disagreement with anything I wrote above is also welcome Please keep in mind that I'm going against AI players - some things can be better against them, some other things are better in PvP. Let's discuss the details, perhaps I can learn something from you guys. Thank you for your time.

The thing is, having 300 or 500 (or whatever difference later on) Skellies vs AI makes almost no difference unless it's a custom map, either will be enough to crush them.
So the +1 speed as well as the 3 possible stacks from Galthran will give an easier start more often than not until you just stomp all over the AI. The +stats help but really not that much as your primary stats become sufficiently high.

i find Clavuis or Nagash(if you like a little bit more magic) also a good alternative.
The +350 gold will make it easier on rough templates to gather enough to get at least Vamps+Castle, if not BKnights+Castle or Citadel/Bdragons
Even tho, i have to agree that with Galthran you have a safer start because you have guaranteed speed 5 for your first hero, this can make the difference between a open chest or not

The only hero you will really need vs 7 AI which will roam like flies around is a logistic specialist. You don't need brute force to beat AI, but enough movement to catch him when he runs away. Which will do most the time.
