CountBezuhoff said: Bleach (anime) after the Soul Society arc is just soooo boring. There are interesting bits and pieces here and there, but the rest is just lackluster action and pointless fights between side characters no one cares about.
The music is good, but that cannot make up for the missing plot and world building.

I like the arc, especially the chara designs. What I don't like is how the captains beat up Arrancars at one point, where Arrancars are supposedly on par with them in terms of power level. Later on Bleach isn't very good at showing power levels of its characters - it's shouneny to the point of extreme. A guy is beaten up, suddenly shrugs off his wounds like those never happened and proceeds to beat up his opponent one-sidedly. I don't like this, I prefer more "balanced" (on a "thin thread") fights in shounens. And it's even worse in the following Quincy arc (Bount arc I ignore cus it's anime only).
But the music is superb, and it fits ideally cus Arrancars are based on this hispanic/latino theme...

Precisely. There was this huge build-up leading up to the battle between the captains and the Espada and NOTHING CAME OUT OF IT. The Espada were so hyped up, but proved to be a total nonthreat, with the worst offender being the Primera Espada who lost to a snowing Shikai. Huge swathes of the arc were about meaningless battles between side characters, there was close to zero worldbuilding and plot and so much was retconned. There was some good comic relief in the Hueco Mundo arc (Patrashe's VA is DIO), but overall it was such a boring experience even I, who have extremely lax standarts and arguably trash taste, couldn't bear any sticking around any longer and dropped it around episode 285.
In comparison, the first two arcs (episodes 1-63) were pretty good for shounen standarts.

I can't buy anime Dragon Ball series + movies. Because Dragon Ball Z pays €90, and Dragon Ball Super €120 (dvd) €150 (br), I've to look older and newer. Those pay too much and English subtitle. So I collect movies, no anime. Sad! Do you have Dragon Ball? I Want know. Hmm anime dvd pays in about €35 in Finland. No cheap.

Re: Zero S2
Spoilers
A hell of a ride this episode was. So much stuff happening (even though it really was "all talk no action"). So Subaru kinda deducted how Roswaal knows about his "looping" because of the Book of Wisdom. I loved the perspective on how the world goes on after Subaru passes - not only it puts yet another layer of depth to the story (the unthinkable present and how it leaves the people of that timeline in pain) and also adds tidbits of interesting outcomes and information (like Reinhard being capable of putting down Puck). To tell you the truth I did not ever think on how the world goes on after Subaru's passing, only focusing on "wasted opportunities" of that particular timeline. Nice. We also finally see Echinda's true colors. I wonder if Subaru's decision to reject her will have dire consequences for him. My word, so much goodness this episode!

Satella? Didn't she like kill you guys? Finally, things are getting interesting.
Found the voicing of the unthinkable present a bit silly but ok.
Gotta love Echidna being gleeful with excitement, minus the humanity.
I get the gist of the contract but seems a little.. vague.
I wonder how the dynamics of this little witch domain play out. Why can they appear simultaneously now?
If Reinhard can kill Puck then no timeline should have a destroyed world. Kind of anticlimactic really.
Incidentally, Elsa survived that hit. Unless it's a matter of having more concentrated mana for Reinhard to absorb in the sanctuary?

Found the voicing of the unthinkable present a bit silly but ok. - it was Subaruun voice, why do you find it silly?
I get the gist of the contract but seems a little.. vague. - she basically wants to rob Subaru of his privacy So what: if he ever bangs Emilia would Satella be trolling him from the sidelines "you're doing it wrong!"?
I wonder how the dynamics of this little witch domain play out. Why can they appear simultaneously now? - cus they are witches? And very powerful at that? Even if they're physically outside the physical world?
If Reinhard can kill Puck then no timeline should have a destroyed world. Kind of anticlimactic really. - Puck stated he would destroy the world but, ultimately I think he is more bark then bite (it is just to show his affection to Emilia and the depth of his rage). I mean he is powerful, but I doubt there are no entities in this world that wouldn't stop him, for instance the dragon that is the Guardian of Lugnica. Truth be told I always doubted Puck would actually destroy the world, but now they gave as an interesting twist to chew on (who is Reinhard actually, and why the f*ck he let Elsa escape?)
Incidentally, Elsa survived that hit. Unless it's a matter of having more concentrated mana for Reinhard to absorb in the sanctuary? - I don't understand what you mean... care to explain?

Spoilers
Elvin has just forgotten about some plot points that happened 3 (or was it five?) years ago.
The anime never hid the fact Elsa survived Reinhardt's attack, neither did it hide Reinhardt's enormous power (it was stated at least on two occasions that he was the Sword Sage). If I recall correctly, even Puck acknowledged that he'd fail to destroy the world because of the Sword Sage.

As if I would bother remembering throwaway lines like that
I do remember though that if Reinhard would use his sword skill in the loot house, the surrounding mana would be drained and it would not be possible to heal. So I wonder if it would make a difference in a location that is currently very rich in mana. Maybe he can fuel his attack more, making this fight completely one-sided.
And about the witches, Dona had to disappear first before. That's why it seems curious.

I don't quite catch why you brought up Reinhard to begin with in the context of Sanctuary? The scene with Puck happened back when Witch Cult assaulted the Mansion. It remains to be seen what was Reinhard actually doing there. That's what's interesting about that retrospective (if he was there why didn't he do anything about the cult, alas maybe he is like a Spirit kill-switch, he teleports when he senses a Great Spirit running rampant?).

I'd give the anime a 11 if I could. After this episode, I just couldn't contain my excitement. All talk no action? Damn, my favorite. It'd take that deep and thoughtful character development any day of the week.
*mild Re:Zero spoilers*
Echidna's speech about the contract was amazing, it really showed the pursuit of knowledge that she desires, but how inhumane her approach is. It's like Subaru said, childish, shallow, superficial, and if I may add destructive in nature. It's unguided and purposeless. Guess that's the twist to her nature, I enjoy it. I hope she'll grow to see there's different paths to knowledge, if it ever gets to that, but that's a personal wish.
elvin: I get the gist of the contract but seems a little.. vague.
- She basically wants everything Subaru will ever experience.
elvin: I wonder how the dynamics of this little witch domain play out. Why can they appear simultaneously now?
- Echidna made that up, that they need to swap. Wrath told that to Subaru when she appeared.
elvin: If Reinhard can kill Puck then no timeline should have a destroyed world. Kind of anticlimactic really.
- The way I felt it is that Puck willingly let himself get slain by Reinhard, he didn't put up a fight at all. It also fit his desire, not living in a world without Emilia.

I'd figured out that much. But..
*mild Re:Zero spoilers*
Dona's contract, it kinda matters if she is aware full time or when called upon and whether she has more influence than just sharing her wisdom. For all we know, she'd be happier meeting more dead ends just to see what happens xD
And sure, Dona made up the swapping but.. what prevented them from all coming out the first time? Or Satella for that matter.
Forgot to say, witch of lust was not what I expected. Her 'special' did not seem particularly lustful either. Based on looks I expected Sekhmet to be the witch of lust.

Actually I forgot to ask - why do you call her Echinda? It comes from Ekee-dona pronunciation or sth else?
And sure, Dona made up the swapping but.. what prevented them from all coming out the first time? Or Satella for that matter. - maybe when Echidna got too emotional with the pact talk she lost the "grip" on them in her pocket dimension? Or maybe it's some other reason that is explained in LN but not in anime?
Forgot to say, witch of lust was not what I expected. Her 'special' did not seem particularly lustful either. Based on looks I expected Sekhmet to be the witch of lust. - well, they stated she projects the one you need the most/long for the most and takes this form. It's actually a pretty interesting design. For one, if Emilia is "in the first place" for Subaru, why did Rem appear? Also, the fact that the witch of LUST is a loli might be a joke/meme from the authors side. PS: according to wiki she is 17 XD

Echidna is the canon, despite Japanese pronouncation. But Ekidona allows others to call her Dona so best version xD
And longing =/= lust. Rem made the most sense though, Emilia would break Subaru's disbelief. And Rem is the one he would feel most at ease with, there is no awkwardness or expectations or anything.
17 huh, still legal xD The witch of lust being a minor would have been more meme-worthy though.

Technically she is. But we don't know what happened to her in this 400 years period She could've been in a stasis. What I mean is she might have 417 years on paper, but her life experience could be limited to those 17 years she spent in the "realm of the living".
