however the dork doesn't end up with the best girl. that's kind of a spoiler I guess.
Yeah, it's pretty fun, as most of the jokes aren't based around grabass, but rather the relations between the cast.

Re Zero S2
Minor spoilers Hmm, another interesting twist. I could seriously feel Subaru's frustration with being imprisoned (this is actually the worst outcome he can get after a restart - not able to do anything and miss his chance). I like how in this series each time there can be a largely different outcome. That said do you think Subaru laughed (or cried even?) so hard after Otto's proclamation cus he is (I think) the first person to honsetly call him friend or becasue he laughed at himself for thinking Otto had ulterior motives?End

That was sweet. Still got the stone though Beatrice surprisingly emotional, Subaru forgot to use Roswaal's phrase. What kind of crappy barrier is that if it overlooks 1/4 mixes xD I don't think this outcome will be overwritten, being heartfelt as it was. Also Subaru, just get yourself some poison or hidden blade to get yourself killed at will.

What is Beatrice doing even? Or Garfiel and that other chick? Am I missing cues on their motives? Seeing Subaru for the last half of the episode was painful, but then real bro Otto shows up.

Stevie said: What is Beatrice doing even? Or Garfiel and that other chick? Am I missing cues on their motives? Seeing Subaru for the last half of the episode was painful, but then real bro Otto shows up.
What do you mean?
Spoilers?
Beatrice - seems to be bound by either a contract or curse. She mentions she does everything for her "Mother". This would explain why her "interventions" are so half-assed or selective (ever wondered how the mansion is succesfully assaulted so many times in the series despite her being a Guardian?): because it seems she cannot do anything the Gospel doesn't tell her (maybe a curse similar to Subaru's? Or that she cannot take some specific actions unless instructed to do so?)
Garfiel - while it wasn't revealed why such extreme actions, but he does mention the scent of Witch on him. Do you remember the ordeal Subaru went through before being accepted by Rem and how it ultimately turned out? Subaru is f*cked up in many situations since the start becasue the hatred for the Witch is strong in the populace or all those Mabeasts who want to munch on him.
End
Btw this story is all about the details - see how Subaru is "getting used to his repeatable deaths"? There is this dialogue with Otto in which the merchant states it's simply creepy with how Subaru is calm with that specific situation (becasue he has seen it already). It's another aspect of his "unique" ability, one which Subaru needs to be aware of - his "power" might lead to situations in which his behaviour is simply unnatural for his comrades. While sometimes it's benefitting him (like when Wilhelm says that his eyes show he went through a lot and gains his trust), but sometimes he can accidentally spill out too much :/

Subaru isn't exactly pokerface. I get Garfiel though, from his perspective Subaru's scent was already suspicious(on top of being a candidate), it got stronger and then he suggests that he undergoes the trial, undermining Emilia. Sounds like a scheme is unfolding, one best nipped in the bud.

Yeah but the hard part is that Subaru is usually very under-informed. The idea in this series is that most people are either hostile or at least wary of him. He in most of the cases learns the hard way - but at least he is able to gather information. In this case he was simply caught off guard cause he didn't know Gar can sniff the Witch scent off him. Plus the series explores one particular idea - that even if you had "second chances" and knew something beforehand, you still might not get the "right" outcome. This is one of the reason I like it so much.

People seem to be pretty secretive about Subaru's affiliation with the Witch - that's how deep the hatred or waryness of the Witch goes. It's also pretty random: some entities feel or see it, but keep it to themselves. It's actually a pretty hard deal for Subaru - it makes his life that much more complicated. People who see/feel it are either neutral (as in: they prefer not to mention it - see Puck, he is 100% aware of Subaru's curse but sporadically mentions it). Others are manipulative or straight-on hostile towards him and attack him without warning. Most don't understand the nature of his curse - they simply smell the Witch on him.
It makes for a great dynamic for the series actually. You never know what's next in store for Subaru.

Remember that thing about names we talked a while ago? Clear example here of how they can be very relevant, but can just fly over one's head. They sure did in my case and I'm slightly annoyed by it this time.
*moderate Re:Zero spoiler*
I got intrigued and checked it out. In episode 5 she introduces herself as Ryuzu Bilma, wearing black clothes, continues in 6 as well. In episode 7 she swears silence on the name of Ryuzu Shima, which I think it's just her. Wears white clothes and the setting is in the forest, it's not accidental. In fact, she looks a lot more like the figure Subaru briefly saw on his way to the Sanctuary, which he thought of when meeting Ryuzu Bilma and assumed was her. Past this point it's heavy spoilers.
*end spoiler*

I ascended as well just last week. Coincidence?
MAJOR LOGH SPOILERS
I personally enjoyed watching the FPA side a lot more. The characters were great and had amazing chemistry together, throughout the series they constantly had their backs against the wall and so each of their battles was filled with suspense and Yang was, well, Yang. I think the last quarter of the show really suffered quite a bit due to his absence.

Love how it felt 'over'ish at around ep 54 lol. Currently sitting on 67.
Also, I haven't even thought about Gantz in years, just saw they released a movie back in 2017 I might check it out. First manga I ever finished (berserk would take it if they weren't stuck on a boat for half a decade - not even sure if it's even concluded yet 0.0).

Berserk finished? Oh please, far from it.
I think the main problem is that the manga has painstakingly detailed drawings (plus a "chapter" is longer, it doesn't have the 20 or so pages format of jump mangas) that's why each chapter takes so long to be released. In case of Gantz it was a similar case (detailed drawings), but the author had a few assistants from what I heard and a lot of stuff was made digitally...

Yes but that's mostly because there are a LOT of chars! And when you watch on and off over time it's just easy to forget. By the end I had almost forgotten what some characters had done and I was like ooh, so it was THAT guy!

Good job Agreed, plus it was depressing after such an event. Apparently there are a few films and even an 25 ep series about El Fasyle, anything skippable?

Yeah I just could not go through at a steady pace. I guess it's more like savouring a good wine, except it gives you a bitter aftertaste when you finish the first half xD By the end you could even say that it's rushed but good lord, how many eps would that make? I expectted better from the church of Terra and Rubinsky but art imitates life and life can be anticlimactic like that.

Totally agree. I'm actually convinced I will rewatch the whole season once it's done, or I just won't be satisfied. I knew I was binging for good reasons before this.
Speaking of binging, gave Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! a try after not being entirely convinced by the synopsis. One of the unique ones to say the least. It's like imagination on crack with an anchor to bring it down to earth and be practical about it. The characters have good chemistry and complete each other. Every episode feels wholesome. They nailed the opening theme too, I never skipped it. Can recommend, 9/10.
Also, Kanamori stole the entire show (and sold it for money). Mad props to whoever wrote her.

I was just made aware that there exists a Revy figure where she's wearing one of those playmate bunny suits the japanese love.
Here it is in all it's glory.
now when Black Lagoon resumes I want to see an arc of her bleeping up crap while she wears it.
And the figure itself, which appearantly costs around 300 buckaroos.
