You just couldn't resist, could you? You know goddamn well that we aren't united enough as a species, or even worthy enough, to go populate other planets until we get our snow together here. This is not debatable. Doing something half-assed isn't grounds for foreword movement with such vast possibilities to do catastrophic damage elsewhere.

It's not that bad. Besides, the act of doing things is usually/always the catalyst for betterment. If you wait to be perfect before doing anything then that's just the equivalent of saying that we should never do anything. Colonizing space is something we'll need to play by ear to some extent.
9 out of 10 fears are unfounded.

I don't understand why they couldn't just find another archduke. You basically just need a high-quality wax to sculpt the proper mustache and you're golden. Austria-Hungary was so particular and snooty about their heirs.

I mean I know it was Romanized and controlled by Rome once upon a time, but it isnt actually Roman unless I am missing something. Otherwise we would just call France "Romance" and we would call Spain "Romain" and we would call Greece "Romeece'.
You get my point. The root of the word is a hot mess. They should vote on a new name, like a Euovision contest.

This is actually a common question. If "Romania" means "citizen of Rome" then we should if anything just rename Italy to Romania, and then maybe give Romania some other voted upon word. That is a lot better than having a random country called "Romania".

Well, former Roman soldiers after their career settled like crazy in Romania's lands, so....
Well, I don't really see a reason to rename it. That's what name this country has formed over the course of history. Countries aren't what you could call "logically named". The classic example even, with Amerigo Vespucci and America: we can say it should be renamed into the United States of Columbia.
