On the subject of bans, it has absolutely happened in the past. Silences that last 137 years, or -QP bombing a member for flagrantly breaking the CoC in such a way that it's inexcusable being the most common methods. Apparently these methods have fallen out of favor or something.

ah yes, Blizzardsoyboy is doing the classic soy move. blame everyone but himself, because soys do nothing wrong.
I actually want to treat the soys at their own medicine, as in the way they do with their chosen victims. But then again the soy infestation we have here is miniscule in comparison to some of the specimens I ran into, so it's not really worth the effort.
besides, it's fun to see Artu sperg out and defend garbage that is modern art. and other degenerate things.

Being a large community is bound to have situations such as these, as sad as they can be. Losing contact and never trace or find that person again, so you are left to speculate only, like when people have missing relatives; there's always that hope lingering, but might never be quenched.
It reminds me of a nice fellow in Celestial Heavens back 15 years or so, nicked Ghostwriter. He had some major problems with Diabetes. After a few years of regular contact, he simply vanished.
But even us, who are healthy at some point, may fall victim of the countless ways to fall dead. And it's saddening that sometimes we are not able to say goodbye, say unsaid things or redeem from unecessary hurt.
Mytical was regular in CH for a while and I did like the person as well. We went along pretty much well, although not the person I had the most contact with.

Feels unreal and uncomfortable to process.
I only knew him from a brief exchange of views on transgender back in the day. I believed he underwent surgery, so unsure if it's him or her. But anyway, never thought about HCers going silent that they might've died irl, though I'm sure some actually did. Just, never seen it that way. I guess I preferred to imagine that they just went on with their lives and found something else, but I guess the forum's old enough for people to start dying on us. Feels bad man.
EDIT: Though I found out he has content on youtube from Sep 27, 2019. So maybe he's still alive?

Kiryu is female or some variant of that. She had a bad habit of getting emotional way too often. That was followed with some very un-mod-like behavior, something which bugged me back then, but I didn't really say anything about it. No one actually did. We had a good time in the Glade, and that was fun. Best period was when JeremiahEmo went full misogynist on the forum and clashed with Kiryu and the rest of the feminists and everyone went ape****. Here's an interesting thread for those who've forgotten.
She has suddenly disappeared, without a trace, and not even Val got a notification. She will be remembered as a zealous feminist and... that's that. I certainly don't remember any abuse of mod powers, though.

I don't remember Kiryu but I remember this guy. He was completely upset with female characters in line ups and such. I wasn't able to say if he was trolling or not.

I don't know man. He sounds like the "woke" person that you only meet in twitter but somehow never in real life, who thinks a thumbs up icon on an ancient gaming forum is racist lol. I actually did know about that thread but I honestly thought it was a joke and it was posted in VW! Which would have made it at least a bit funny.
There were more poops too but most of the other threads actually seem fine, some even good and about interesting topics. Maybe there is the lingering feeling that he is trolling like he has done before which makes it so annoying then. Dunno.
Other than that there are surely more annoying members past and present on the forum. But that is just my 2 cents.

I just remember Mytical was posting about his health and that he was in really bad pain and it was severe enough that it was difficult to get on the computer, and then the posting stopped. So I assumed he wasn't able to recover.
People come and go from the forum. In early July I had a close encounter on a tipped kayak where I was being pushed against the current in water over my head. I would have simply disappeared from posting if I had drowned, but then again I wasn't posting about being hospitalized beforehand.

As far as Kiryu goes, what matters the most is if he/she abused their mod powers and took it out on somebody in penalties or silence. If she did, then of course that is a big problem. A mod acting unmodlike is bad too but less serious.

Maybe not. Believe it or not I was a moderator on another forum (I was invited in a way I couldn't diplomatically deny) and I was quite successful at it. My problems were mostly with my own conscience not with the members, too much shadiness for my simple taste...

There was a time in this place, when Sal called JJ "a beast of debate" as a compliment or fred called Blizz "an artist" or Corribus said to Elodin "it's nice to have you you back."
Those were also the times when fred accused Sal of threatening him because Sal simply used the expression "what am I supposed to do, kill you" or when I was fed up with Mvass and Stevie for very different reasons, one for reducing evolution into a contract, the other for denying it.
But everything was a little bit smarter, no matter who you disagreed with. People listened more instead of getting triggered. I dont know who counts as the ancients now but I still like this place, it enables me to listen to people from all over the world, not as in some specialist site, on the contrary, since the only common thing is some computer game from ages ago, from all class, nationality, education. It is guud.
