I remember one specific feature that was made against editing year old posts so that people don't go and delete them on a whim or whatever. You can bypass that now if you just ask Corribus? Does this man's power trip know no end?!!1?!

Honestly, I feel the rules of this forum aren't worth **** anymore. Anyone can just "interpret" them whichever way is more convenient at the time. My post got deleted for no good reason, only a convenient reason to someone else. Kip might be doing shady business and wants his pics erased from the forum - I'm saying this as a possibility that was never excluded. Corribus rolls with it anyway.

I love it.

only mods and Val can do that upon request.

one member called Father did it when he left HC. So I didn't set the precedent. He however asked to nuke all of his posts.

@stevie

Just for the record, all but one of the pictures were dead links. It's well within my right to clean out threads if they contain dead links, irrelevant information, or spam. The fact that kip asked me to do so makes no difference. There's no HC rule or aspect of the code of conduct that forbids a moderator from cleaning threads. In fact, we're supposed to do it.

It has been my general policy to not delete huge tracts of old posts upon request because it makes threads unreadable and, let's be frank, it's a lot of work for me. However I entertain each request on a case-to-case basis and make a decision, usually after discussion with other moderators. Sometimes I refuse. Sometimes I don't. It depends on the reason and the amount of work involved. In the current case, the pictures thread, a majority of old pictures are dead links anyway, deleting them causes the thread to be no more unreadable than it already is, and kipshasz asked me in good faith to do it and provided me a good justification. On the other hand, you posted a photograph of another member in bad faith after knowing I had deleted his photographs, for no other reason than just to harass moderators and other members. So, I guess there's irony in you accusing me of not following the rules.

For the first part, if you're going with that line of reasoning, then it's a losing argument. Simply because Kip asking you to delete those made all the difference, despite your claim to the contrary. Had he not brought it to your attention, you wouldn't have removed them. You say you're supposed to clean threads with broken links and the like? Suffice to say the hundreds of broken links plus advertisement starting with the very first post of the thread and onwards do not help your case here. Nor does this message either - [MOD EDIT: image removed at poster's request]. The evidence shows you've been partial to that duty only on request. Perhaps the other users should come back to HC to commission you personally to delete their broken links? I wouldn't mind it actually, a small price to pay if that would bring the oldies back.

For the second part, I have been very careful to not break any rule in making that post, I can assure you. That post was no different from a quote reply, save only for the format. The fact that you're trying to obtain a moral high ground on such a basis is concerning to say the least, so the talk about good faith or bad faith is besides the point. This is the actual thing that I'm following here, and the reason I'm playing devil's advocate - you have basically deleted an users post that broke no rule because of your understanding with a different user. You have also edited fred's post here for the same reason. That should be completely unacceptable.
Another thing, the fact that Kip posted a picture of himself on the internet is on him and he should've been fully aware of what it meant. If he thinks and acts as if it was a mistake in hindsight, then maybe it was that sort of rookie mistake, but the onus is entirely on him and no one else. Sharing things in public space can have undesirable outcomes, so one should be prepared and account for that beforehand. Also the fact that anyone should comply with someone else's damage control is otherworldly, doesn't follow at all and the fact that someone imposes it is absurd.
That is leaving aside your entire moderation process which you detailed yourself. Case by case, only if it's not too much work, has to pass your personal standard for "reasonable"... That's not the reassuring fairness one would hope for. It's rather screams convenient, arbitrary, inconsistent, with the CoC as an afterthought only used as a "stfu, n00b" at the end of a warning or penalty.

So the takeaway from my post:
- The reason you edited / deleted was because of your understanding with another user, NOT because you had a sudden impulse to clean anything (don't even try to paint it that way)
- You edited / deleted other users' posts in the interest of being convenient to that agreement (fred's and mine)
- You have no moral high ground
- Your moderation process has seen better days
- I forgot to say I posted a photo of another HC member once before without anyone batting an eye, setting a precedent, but it's suddenly not okay anymore?
- I'm mostly playing devil's advocate, but I do believe the arguments are correct.

Million dollar case here for the little guys.

Alcohol needs to have a warning label indicating "May cause liver damage and impair judgment.  May lead to arguments rage and conflict, potentially imprisonment or death of one or all parties. Alcohol consumption and operating a motion vehicle is against the law and is the leading contributor to many fatal accidents"

Anyone here from legal not a dumb snow clone?

Alcohol needs a warning. According to some perspective.  And enough to make solid claims in a court right?

Isn't it the other way round? Warnings don't really keep people from (ab)using stuff, they just keep the producers of the products from being sued.

Well, unlike cigarettes, there is something called a healthy level of alcohol. Say, 1-2 glasses of wine a day or a slim glass of whiskey. It’s even good for your blood circulation. So the defendants can argue that anything would be unhealthy if you overconsume: Sugar, salt, pastry, meat, eggs...

It's a shame about tobacco. I've never smoked before (minus having a cigar when I was visiting Tombstone, Arizona), but simply biting down on my great grandfather's tobacco pipe gives the most delightful smoky taste and aroma. I can definitely understand why people used to do it so much lol.

One of the worst movies I have ever watched. I keep groaning and grimacing all the time if I happen, accidentally, to lay eyes on it, as if afflicted by a dangerous, mental disease.

One of the worst parts I recall was when Ivy pushed Robin into a pool and he simply gets twarthed or almost drown, because he could not really swim to the surface, due some algae, or his cape, or whatever.

Not to mention the cast acting. It seemed everyone was lazy or tired or regretting or hallucinating.
