i'll let you guys hash this out. i'm aware of cause and effect, but most of history i am ignorant of(including ww1). my previous post was based on the meme, and not to be taken seriously. the only thing i was really serious about was missing the samurai.

if what i read is accurate, the only thing samurai did wrong was fight each other. i get the gist that they were serious noblemen serving their country honorably. if anyone disrespect(s)/(ed) such a person, they did/do indeed deserve to be struck down like the slime they are.
but that's my opinion, based off of what little i read.
soldiers these days can't be noble, because they serve corrupt leaders for corrupt causes. but maybe even samurai were only tools as well; who knows. it's not like you can rely on people to tell you the truth about the past; since so many are brainwashed and take dishonest propaganda for fact; and likely most mainstream sources of possible information are controlled by those who lie and deceive for personal gain, or out of malice(or both).
also, because this is the vw, and i'm tired, i just want to say the words:

Heh...
History. Even the Japanese will not claim otherwise.
It wasn't all bad, of course, but bushido (just like chivalry) is not what movies would have you believe is like. And many samurai only paid lip service to it, in the first place.

the last samurai movie i watched was that garbage with tom cruise years ago. i haven't really read too much about them, but what i've read apparently paints a very different picture from what you all've read.
then again, most debaters on this site are wrong about everything, so i'll take what you say with a grain of salt, if you don't mind. nothing personal; just that the consensus here at globalist hq is overwhelmingly wrong.

Yeah, Samuri were basically just Japanese knights. The ones that worked for a lord were "landed" samurai that ostensibly speaking had to follow their lord's decrees, but functionally only did so with land-owning citizens under their lord's rule. They weren't necessarily cruel and unusual to the peasants, but they also weren't respectful paragons of honor and justice. Just flawed noble-caste warriors like the knights of Europe.
There were also "ronin" that were landless knights that sold their services like any well-trained knight-mercenary. Ronin mercenary companies and solo sell-swords were at least as common as their landed counterparts, and the fact that even the romanticized revisionist view of Japanese history still casts them as honorless cows despite keeping them as clearly samuri (just "fallen" samurai who have lost their honor/ never followed bushido/ lived while their entire clan died) says a lot.

other than that, stick to actual historiography, not the children's colouring books you yanks call textbooks.
